Poor you!
Having said that, watch out of those mattress toppers as well. It really is a case of horses for courses. My mum has a bad back and she finds it makes such a difference she will probably insist on her eventual coffin being layered with the stuff for her to get her eternal rest (when the time comes) as she refuses to be without it, but it played havoc with my dad's hips when they got one. I can't bl**dy stand it, either - doesn't agree with me at all.
Is the mattress over 10 years old? Would he be up for changing it?
I hope you find a solution. Please call me 'Pickle'

Asset I hope your back is better soon xxEwwww gross, what does it smell like, can you describe it? I don't wear lipstick so I don't really know if they smell or not normally excpet for that generic cosmetic smell which I don't mind
Go to a L'Oreal stand and smell their lipstick in the gold packaging, they smell the same albeit more subtly. It's impossible to describe it really, sorry!Hahahaha I remember those sickly sweet smells, I had a dewberry set for xmas once, they still had it in the 90s don't worry about that :rotfl:
I used to love those sickly sweet smells. I like spicy ones and earthy ones these days.
Oh I loved dewberry, I was so happy when it came back last year!minicooper272 wrote: »UU BS earth lovers fragrance free sulfate free shower gel. This lathered really well, so lasted a really long time. It was very runny so easy to use more than necessary. WBA but not at full price (£5 a bottle is a lot to spend for 2months of shower gel)
A 500ml bottle lasts you two months? It would last me a week! :rotfl:choccomonster wrote: »Hello there,
am new to this thread and was rather intrigued to read that others also have a problem in using up their toiletry stash!!
however, I have obviously succumbed to temptation rather too easily, as I was wondering how you managed to get the philosphoy shower gel so cheaply. If I am right, did you buy 2x2 of shower gel to get 2x750 points and then 1000 points for spending over 50 pounds, but not sure if this is right?
thanks!!
(am also interested about the lancome stuff you mention - I have rather red blotchy cheeks so would love to hear how you get on with the samples!)
I'll post about the Lancome once I've tried it
Sorry, I didn't get 4 shower gels, I got 3 @ £14 plus an £9 Biotherm lip butter (that also came with a free gift! :j) also in the 750pt deal, so £51 all together, 2705 pts in total (after putting in code XMAS2013 to get £10 of points for £50 spend) so essentially spent only £24 for all of that.
Actually that was probably about £7 for each philosphy and £3 for the lip butter but I'm happy with that, plus I will run out of philosophy soon and I use it as shampoo so will be out of shampoo, so really I DID need it!:D:D

The way to solve the issue is to get a single topper for a double bed and only have it on one side, if you get one that's just pure foam and not wrapped in any way, you could cut it to fit the bed exactly, as long as you're happy doing that of course. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

I know! I used to think I was the only one as most of my friends (even other lushies) don't seem to have this problem.

Regarding the mattress debate, we have a memory foam mattress which we bought when they were first available, it is amazing, very comfortable and I love the fact it has no springs. We couldn't believe the way they shot up in price a couple of years later and now I don't think I would buy one purely on price.
Heatwraps are good for a bad back, like a wide belt you fasten on, very soothing.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh yes, I always get carried away in reading and then replying to stuff I forget what I come on for sometimes
Another UU to declare: superdrug dry shampoo FINALLY I can buy some batiste again! WD-NOT-BA awful stuff that did nothing and also (thankfully) ran out quickly. Happy it's gone. I still had to use my no drought afterwards to actually degrease my hair for goodness sake!
I like lush no drought but I often find I have to use it overnight because it takes ages to rub in so I went to get batiste for the emergency times
So INs also to declare:
2x batiste dry shampoo 200ml (on offer so thought may as well)
1x bs ginger shampoo 250ml to try
1x bs deodry deodorant for gym bag (I use aromaco from lush but I share it with OH so I don't take it out of the house, I like natural deo's and this was reduced to £1!!)
2xbs hand sanitizer gels (reduced and I wanted some for holidays/travelling that aren't tested on animals so pleased with those)
All in all with the reductions and my BS birthday treat it cost £3.32 so not too bad. Dry shampoo cost £4.48 so £7.80 in total.
I also got some flaxseed tablets and some olbas oil but won't be counting these. I love olbas oil for winter stuffy nose and the flaxseeds were recommended on here by luvlycake I think so I'm going to give them a whirlDon't turn a slip up into a give up

Ooooops. Popped into Lush after earning a bit of cash this morning from an experiment.
Two bought INs,
20. Figs and Leaves Soap, 176g - I love this scent so much (Dorothy and Pumkin), and just discovered it came in a soap!!
21. Lord of Misrule bath bomb - wanted to get hold of one of these before the end of the Halloween period
and a non-bought IN,
22. Eden Organic Care Avocado Oil, 100ml - I won this in a blog giveaway, and it sounds lovely. Not sure what to use it for yet, but probably as a hair treatment
Got a couple of things spluttering, but no use ups so far today...No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January!UU: 5, IN: 2Total Stash: 99 - ultimate target 33 (year start 99)0 -

Nutmeg and cinnamon will help you get the scents you love.
Ah, I didn't realise you celebrated at different times either.
Now, I love the smell of nutmeg but not the taste. Over here we have a cake called egg custard which is basically egg custard (yeh, who'd have thought) baked in a pastry case. It's topped with nutmeg to finish off.Catriona_P wrote: »Just so you know, Waitrose sell pumpkin pie mix.I buy a few cans every year and make my own pumpkin pie. I've no idea if it tastes as good as the authentic thing, but I love it.
Ooh sounds lovely. Unfortunately can't get to our Waitrose as you need a car and MrM is not driving still.
On this note I am so looking forward to catching 2 buses to the Trafford Centre again tomorrow at the ungodly hour of 5.00am. Apparently there are some UnionJ book signing tickets going on sale then and me being the loving mother/idiot/weakling who can't say "no" (delete as applicable) am taking Emma along to buy them ready for next Monday for the signing.
So to try and stop myself/Emma looking at anything remotely cosmetic I have told her that we need to follow Project Pan jointly with us both selecting 5 items to finish before buying anything else. My 5 items are:-
Good Works body oil - which I have now UU and which caused a major wardrobe malfunction!
Elemis PCMC
Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream
V05 shampoo
Champneys hand lotionBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Oh VALM what sort of wardrobe malfunction?
I am currently using a Kringle Candle Pot Pourri (their version of a wax tart) in Pumpkin Latte and it is heavenly, it is giving off lots of fragrance and the whole house smells of spiced pumpkin - this is one I think you would like VALM.
The Boots advantage points thing is driving me mad, I want some of the new Philosophy winter shower gels very much although the last thing I need for a very long time is shower gel. I have an obsession with it, I love the idea of a gorgeous scent and all that steam.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
