I worked with someone who wore a red dress, but still cut like a wedding dress. It looked absolutely amazing0

My friend wore a gorgeous red and black dress for her wedding and she looked amazing!
My dress was ivory but with a purple tartan corset and trim on jacket and the underside of the overskirt was also tartanFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
A friend of mine got married in a black dress, it was beautiful. Wear what you like - it doesn't have to be a dress. You could go in a giraffe onesie if that's what you fancy, it's your day.0

It has to be white, I'm afraid. Anything else renders your union void. Fact."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Wear what makes you feel wonderful, that will photograph well, and that you can see yourself wearing again.
If this is a Once Only job, then hire the dress but stick to the first two suggestions?
Depending on season, a stunning little number to dance in, worn under a really stunning winter coat?

Wear whatever you like. I got married in turquoise.0

It has only been 'traditional' for a bride to marry in white since Victorian times and there have ALWAYS been brides who have gone their own way!
It's amazing how many of our traditions are actually really modern.
I have seen lots of brides wearing other coloured dresses, not just now, but in old photos too. I think they look lovely. I look terrible in pale colours so would definitely wear something different.
OP - if anyone comments just say, "I've been such a total slapper in my life that I really didn't feel it was appropriate to wear virginal white". That will shut them up!0 -
