Go with what you want on your day. I unfortunately had to wear a dress my mum wanted me to wear and I hated it. I could not break her heart but looking back now I wish I stood up a bit and said I did not like it.

We are redoing our wedding in 3 yrs on our 20th anniversary so that we can have our wedding our way. I will be wearing the dress I want and hubbie will be wearing what he feels comfortable.

Please don't be pressured to wear something you don't want. Its your day so do it your way xx

    I got married in orange!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Wear whatever you want, your dress (or not) should reflect you, not "tradition".

I'll probably be getting married at some point next year and I can't picture myself in a big white dress. I was going to just get a nice evening dress I could wear again, but I found a gold, celtic style dress on ebay for £25 so that's me sorted when we get around to tying the knot.

Good luck finding your dream dress!

My best friend married in red. She looked absolutely stunning. Her dress was so gorgeous. I married in ivory, looks white on the pictures. I liked it for myself, hate being centre of attention so would have felt even more exposed in red, but if you have the confidence to do so, then go for it.
  • Go for it! With red there are so many shades/variations you are sure to find one that suits your colouring :-)

The white wedding dress was a Victorian invention anyway!

My niece married in red yesterday and looked amazing. Second time around you should just do as you desire.
  • My SIL's dress was lilac and gorgeous!

    Yes.

And you could do what you like first time around as well.

My sister got married in red last December and her dress was beautiful - she's a redhead so I wasn't sure until I saw her in it and it really suited her. Her dress was like a traditional one but it was red :)
