The bills say tariff: price held.
    ....

Then my advice does not apply to you.

It only applies to those of us that find we did not get our prices held as promised.

The goodwill gesture is significantly more than £1.11 (and they said my refund if calculated properly would have been a lot less than £1.11 - but that obviously varies depending on usage, region and period covered)

Sorry that you and molerate have missed out

    Edit:

Have a looks at post 173 & 178 by molerat on the extraenergy thread he appears to be similarly baffled with the same issue. As I posted I don't understand.
As molerate explains in that latter post, the 6% DD discount is rolled into the unit price - it's not just 6% less as the standing charge should also get a 6% discount.
Maybe they also rolled the dual fuel discount in too? (which was paid up to end April at the end of last year). Or maybe they forgot about that discount ...

If you don't understand, then you should complain. If they can't explain it fully, maybe they will still give you some free money.

Looking carefully at my final bills gives me the same sc elec 14p gas 22p for this tariff and the 8 days before my switch. The unit rates are as follows elec before end April 11.13p , 1-8 May 10.15p. Gas 3.402p then 3.115p in same order. Yorkshire region , I don't understand. Plus vat of course.

I've just gone from this tariff to First Utility and am also in Yorkshire and have just received a tiny final bill based on the same figures as above - so far so good.

Luckily I can still get access to my online EDF account; I have switched away from them before and they cancelled my access which meant that I couldn't check any of their final figures.

I am owed about £50 credit,, which appears to be given as a refund yesterday, so I'll give them a week to see if it appears in my bank account.

I just wish they'd all knock all these special deals on the head and charge a fair price from the off, so we don't have to switch every year or two or face paying over the odds.

    Final update (hopefully)

EDF called today following my letter of complaint (I used the freepost address from their website) and they proposed to settle this matter by way of a goodwill payment that would far exceed the value of any refund owed if they bothered to rebill me correctly.

I prefered to accept this as it still leaves the possibility in the future of a further refund should Ofgem get wind of this malpractice ... It's happened before with a different supplier as when mass refunds/compensation are ordered by Ofgem, the supplier forgets/overlooks/does not remember the reason for the goodwill payment.

So for anyone who has just finished this tariff with EDF, I urge you to look carefully at your final bill and if they have charged you at their expensive standard rate for a few final days after 30-Apr-2014 - complain! They agree it's not right and there is free money on offer as a result.

As Stephen Mulhern would say, Unbelievable!

Despite the agreement I thought we had reached that meant they wouldn't re-calculate the bill, but just pay a goodwill payment it appears someone else has now picked up the complaint (which I thought was now closed) and re-calculate the bill.

They have used the 'price held' tariff this time, but have used exactly the same unit rates as before (see posts 174&178 by moleraton in the extraenergy thread ) i.e the Blue+ price promise April 2014 unit rates.
And they've not included any DD discount, and have re-billed from way before the beginning of May, which is when they started billing me wrong, which results in them demanding quite a bit of money off me. Well, about 6% of the entire billed consumption!

I've asked them to try again...

My final bill on 14 May had a "price held" tariff at some strange unit price, with no discount for the out of contract period, that worked out 24p in my favour. My daughter has received her bill today with the "price held" tariff at exactly the same as the blue with the usual 6% discount off the whole bill. I don't think they really know what they are doing.

I had strange unit prices on my "price held" final bill as well, also in my favour. Only pennies as it was for about 2 weeks as the switch went through, so even if they come back and say we undercharged you, it isn't going to be worth the cost of the postage...

Sionce my last post, EDF were quick to respond and agree they had made yet another mistake in my bill. They agreed I had paid up in full, that EDF no longer supply me and so I will not owe EDF any more money. They resolved the previous bill which re-billed me minus the direct debit discount by issuing another final bill with a credit equal to the charge applied so that the account again had a zero balance.

Since EDF confirmed both in writing and by way of a final bill that I owe them nothing and that they no longer supply me, I cancelled my direct debit mandate.

I now see, in their wisdom, they have decided to reinstate the mandate.

Is there no way to ever leave this company???
Whilst with them, I was happy with their service, and although moving to a cheaper supplier, would have considered them again when the contracts wioth my present suppiers expire. However, with all this hassle since leaving, I will have to think very carefully before ever going with this company again.

I have just posted this in the main EDF forum but it is also relevant to this one. Hope that's OK?
I have switched suppliers from EDF in April/May.
Firstly they took extra payments from my bank without notification or warning (which the Bank refunded immediately). They spent 2 months preparing my final Bill. When that was finally available I was about £250 in credit. Meter readings had been submitted at the point of change over.
They sent me a cheque for that credit.
My account showed as being clear.
    However.....
2 weeks later they wrote to me saying I was now about £250 in debit (even though my account was now closed and no further activity had occured)
Every time I queried the figure they had a different story to explain what it was for.
My on line account still showed clear until a day or so ago when they updated it to show me £250 ish in debit.
Still no activity on my account or explanation as to where this figure comes from.
Twice now I had emails from their customer service department assuring me that I don't actually owe any money and that the £250 was an error they made in calculating my Green Deal payments.
I have been in dispute with them for a few weeks now but I am considering paying it just to get them off my back!
Any advice before I get driven mad by EDF?
