No but I will get the mobile out next time, I know how far the distance is, Its over the football pitch, down the bank and down the street. Yet she somehow managed to win her appeal god only knows how.

And yes I know she's a bb holder and on DLA HRM as she complained of losing it, and went to tribunal. Yet she walks her dog at least 2 miles a day, and jogs to try and lose weight. Do you think people like that should be allowed to get away with it?

    Personally I couldn't care a ****!!

I have more to do in my life than spend time concerning myself over petty matters like that.

I used to be of the ilk that if I thought someone was doing something wrong, I would intervene. The last time I did was almost 35 years ago when I went to the aid of a woman in the street who was being assaulted by her male friend. After putting him down she started to attack me for hitting her boyfriend!!

Now I just walk on by - not my problem.

As for 'benefit crime' there are a lot more happenings in this country that make that sort of thing totally insignificant. Now if I saw a young child being knocked around, then yes I would telephone the authorities.

Fraud of that nature, be it benefits or tax, is just part of this country's culture.

It happenend to the OP...why the hell should'nt they report someone scumbag for stealing from the tax payers...

Two wrongs don't make a right!!

As I said before - playground mentality.
  • OP has nothing to gain either! Let's hope she is not such a petty, nasty and small-minded person.

Otherwise that tit for tat might go on ad infinitum.

It isn't tit for tat if the OP's husband is innocent of the allegations, but the person who made the allegations is guilty of the same thing. It is just being a responsible citizen, and saving the tax payer from being defrauded.

If you honestly believe that if you shop enough people those that are left (presumably who you would describe as the honest claimants) will see an increase in the amount of benefit they are paid then you are not of this world!

The amount of money in terms of cash value that is lost through fraud is miniscule compared to the amount of money that is lost by the DWP in errors and poor decision making.

If someone gets that worked up with seeing someone who after getting out of a Motability car (how they knew it was a Motability car I don't know, but) and running 800 metres really needs a life.

For a start the person running need not be a DLA claimant.

    Not quite true:
AS well as the estimates for individual benefits referred to above, the

Department also has an estimate that the total overpayments due to fraud on

all benefits is approximately £2 billion per annum.

And ....... what has it really got to with the OP in the great scheme of things?

Maybe the OP could sit in their car at night and watch the local pizza delivery people do there bit. I am sure that doing that, they would not only find someone fiddling the revenue but maybe catch an illegal at the same time?

What has this country come down to if it is now acceptable for neighbours and friends to spy and inform on them.

What has this country come to when people think it is ok to commit crime???

But it isn't wrong to report someone who is committing a crime.
