Wrongly reported (malicious?)

I have registered under another name as I do not want anyone to recognise me.
My husband is signing on at the moment and also attends Pertemps appointments. Today he was called into the local Pertemps who said they needed to see him urgently and immediately. Long story short, they said that someone had told the job centre that he is working and not declaring it. We know immediately who has done this, but cannot prove it.
The only job he does is a few hours on a weds at a local charity shop and the job centre know this.
1) why have Pertemps called him in asked him? Is it their place? Why haven't the jobcentre
2) what are the job centre likely to do about this matter? Should we go to them?
My husband isn't that worried because it isn't true and there is no evidence, but I find it very upsetting. And goodness knows what the malicious person will do next. It's someone who my husband has had an argument with and the ironic thing is, is that this person deals in cars and does not declare his earnings.

Sounds like the DWP may have contacted Pertemps to enquire if they have provided him any work which he may not have disclosed. Looking for evidence following the info they may have received.
Wouldn't worry too much until or if the DWP call him in for interview etc.0 -

Well if you know this person is not declaring their earnings report them. You certainly have nothing to lose.0 -

OP has nothing to gain either! Let's hope she is not such a petty, nasty and small-minded person.
Otherwise that tit for tat might go on ad infinitum.0 -
Someone who is dodging taxes and friends knowing about it would be incredibly foolish to report say friend about something when they know they are doing nothing wrong. Seems like they would have a lot more to lose than gain from such actions.0

Are we in a children's playground? He does that so I do this?
Not nice to be thought of as a scrounger is it? That still doesn't excuse the attitude of - how can I get my own back.
The fact is that the poster doesn't know that the person isn't declaring the income. So until the poster is certain that a fraud is being carried out, they should not concern themselves with the lives of others.
On the face of it to all that only see what they see, we have a comfortable lifestyle, have a nice home all paid for, nice car on the drive and are never short of money when we go out.
Yet we receive a top up by way of a means tested benefit to ensure that we receive everything that we are entitled to.
Should we be reported based only on what you perceive to be the case (having an undeclared source of income)? Not everything is as you perceive it to be.0 -

It came straight out the blue although when they mentioned when the letter was sent in it struck me its likely down to a person who had recently joined my Voluntary Group but was not at all keen to do the shifts and I had to speak to him as I was his Team Leader - the guy had a really bad attitude and was not willing to work the shifts he was allocated so he stormed off never to be seen again.
I must say that it was not as bad as you would imagine - I had to take in my last six months bank statements and there was no unexplained credits.
They established that there was no money paid to me and that was the end of the story.
I know its upsetting but such is life.
Since then there has been no mention of that malicious report.
I cant explain why its not the DWP that is dealing with it.0 -
I don't think they pay much attention anyway
I sent in a report on a disabled faker, getting out of their mobility car, running (not walking) at least 800m.0 -

Why?
No doubt you rummaged in your bag to get your mobile out to video what was happening?
Then out comes the laser measure out of your bag to measure the distance that he/she ran? Oh I forgot you had your stop watch in your other hand timing how long it too them to complete the measured distance?
You should come to my town and watch/record all of the scooter riders that park up outside a shop and do their shopping - not forgetting those that have a crutch under each arm but they hardly touch the ground.
You need to loosen up a bit

No, you're right portly....let's just turn a blind eye to all those despicable fakers so that those who really need help don't get enough to survive on.
That's a really clever thing to do!I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.
