    It does. If you applied for £10k or less - then you got 227 shares.
    If over £10k, you got nothing. Assuming you are not a corporate investor of course.

    could someone please tell me was it up to and including 10,000 via the official website or below 10k, for 750 shares......i.e will I be getting a refund of 10,000 or 9,250.... ta

    You will get a refund of £9,250.

    Don't panic! If you keep them you should get a dividend of 6% - not bad with savings interest rates at around 1.5%!

    So would that be 6% dividend on my share allocation (i.e. the £750) or something else. Not sure how dividends work.

    Yes, that is pretty much it.

    Of course your shares are now worth about £1,000 so the forward looking dividend yield is now a tad over 4% but that does not affect the income you will get.

    Usually, it assumes a 6% div based on a share allocation you have on a given cut off date (called the ex-dividend date). If you sell your holding before that then you don't get a dividend.

    Thats true if you bought direct from the Royal Mail share site - if you bought through a broker you should get it earlier - Halifax sharedealing say it should be back by midday(although it was meant to be 8am but there is some issue)
