I registered for an account with X-0 last night .. put in bank details ..waited for activation e-mail that didnt come. tried to log back in and it said "site closed for maintenance" still not had an e-mail this morning.. bit worried about giving my bank details tho .. eek !!

X-O have been encountering problems since an upgrade last weekend. So be prepared for the worst. Trading was offline for several days this week.
  • Generally the share has been strong, weakest outlook seems to be 470 or 480. The strike is one day so far ?
As said, any delay to selling has generally benefited those.
My personal take these are fine to hold even for the dividend, theres no great need to worry near term which includes the next year or so.

Theres always speculation of a take over bid to counter the other factors like poor results, that'll take a while to play out anyhow
sending to x-o will incur Recorded Delivery postages charges
Certificate of postage at PO is free and covers £50 of losses or so

Yeah I can understand why that option works for you gevans. I hope the share price stays high and it works out for you. It is going to work out cheaper as long as the price remains good.

    Good luck.

It's not so much the price as logistics.

We could have sold yesterday using the £50 phone option, but that involved waiting for a CREST form to be sent by post and returning the share cert with it. If the form had arrived after we had left, we would not have been able to return the cert for two months, the transaction would not have completed and we may have had to buy the shares back at an unknown price.

X-O trading PINs arrived in the post, an hour after we posted the certs to Equiniti :rotfl:.

basil, no extra charges but it depends on how you sell, to sell online via equniti it will cost you 45 if you register for X-O it will be 5.95 once your shares are registered on their nominee account.

Thank you for that mcscoty, I've now realised it's not an actual certificate, just the formal letter confirming my holding, so they are in a nominee account as I thought.

Next step is to transfer them away from Equiniti and their extortionate 1% selling fee, which, as things stand for me would be well over £100!

Was planning on moving them to X-0 but I'm now hearing they're proving to be unreliable!!
  • oh well 😞

You did realise you can download the crest form without needing the pin though?

I have mine completed ready to send but I am not sure if it needs your xo account number put on it somewhere or they just tie it in with your name and address against an xo account. I think that is the case, but would rather be sure.

They operate a manual email reply system so you probably won't get one until Monday morning when the office next opens.

CREST forms were downloaded, filled in and covering letters, stating account numbers, written. But, without the PINs we would not have been able to trade online.
  • Ahh right with you now.

X-O posted my PINs the same day my account was opened, Thursday, but Royal Mail took until today to deliver them and, because I'm going away, I ran out of time. No fault of X-O.
