  • Argghhh it is 4pm so I have less than 30 minutes to get the email, log on and sell if that is what I want to do, it is increasingly looking unlikely.

If I do not get my email today, do I have the option of making a claim against equiniti if for example the shares were to take a nose dive tomorrow. It seems incredibly unfair that some people can make thier share deal today and I and presumably plenty of others are being treated unfairly.

    Any thoughts?

Equiniti, just give me the blooming email for gods sake!!!!

Just asking... you have checked your Spam folder?

Ok guys here is how to get to the sell screen at Equiniti

    Got to

    shareview.co.uk/dealing

Scroll down about half way and click on the link under this section

    Share certificate and CSN dealing

On the next screen click the TRADE NOW button top right

Fill in your details but select DON'T HAVE ACCOUNT and use RMG for your share code

On the next screen select Royal Mail Plc Ord Shs 1p

On the next screen select Corporate Nominee Service and enter your shareholder reference.

Tick the box at the bottom of the next screen and continue

You should then be at the screen to sell your shares :)
  • Yes frequently :-)

I recieved the others ones OK.

Anyone have a contact number for equniti incase I am one of the unlucky ones to have been given a cert even though I definately didn't click on this option.

I think the point is that everyone should have been sent their "Shareholder Reference Number" over the weekend, when it was closed, but this is 'the government' we're talking about here. Imagine if Labour were doing the sell-off!

And if they did, imagine the Hargreaves-Wossname-style hullaballoo when everyone tried to sell at 8am this morning.

I don't think there was any way of handling this that people would've been entirely happy about.

Sorry about using the word 'hullaballoo' by the way; I wouldn't normally. ;)

No, because the prospectus clearly states they have until Thursday to provide you with those details.

The sages say that once RMG enters the FTSE top 100 officially, it'll rise further since large institutions have to add a quantity of these to their portfolio by rule.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive but I am pretty sure that - as a rule - shares tend to underperform once they enter the FTSE 100 not the other way round as you might expect.

Did you sell through the online account or using the automated phone number?
  • When is the cut-off time for trading? 5pm or 4:30?
