Royal Mail Shares

I'm no expert, but as far as I've read they join the club of the top 100 valued companies on the stock exchange, which should boost their share price.
Kinda like being promoted in the football divisions, being promoted is good......being demoted is bad.
That's my layman understanding anyway.;)
And a number of funds (including trackers obviously) are committed to holding all FTSE100 companies, so inclusion in the FTSE100 guarantees that more shares are bought, therefore sending the price higher. As for how much higher, I couldn't tell you."I don't mind if a chap talks rot. But I really must draw the line at utter rot." - PG Wodehouse0 -
- Third E-mail I received today confirming my investor number and details of how to sell my shares. This did not contain any mention of how many shares I actually hadEmail this morning with shareholder reference.
Email this afternoon detailing the allocation, cost and refund.I applied for a hard copy certificate and have just received
my 11 digit share holder ref#.
In the email it suggests people who went this route can still sell now by telephone.
Still waiting on these emails myself. At least the share price is holding strong for now!0 -
Here comes the last half hour run up to closing at £5.00.
And I've still not had my email either yet!!!0 -
£4.80 is not £5.00. I wish.0
-
Argghhh it is 4pm so I have less than 30 minutes to get the email, log on and sell if that is what I want to do, it is increasingly looking unlikely.
If I do not get my email today, do I have the option of making a claim against equiniti if for example the shares were to take a nose dive tomorrow. It seems incredibly unfair that some people can make thier share deal today and I and presumably plenty of others are being treated unfairly.
Any thoughts?
Equiniti, just give me the blooming email for gods sake!!!!0 -

Soon we'll get the complaints from the people who did get the email on time and sold before the price went higher...."I don't mind if a chap talks rot. But I really must draw the line at utter rot." - PG Wodehouse0 -

For another example, if the price goes up tomorrow, will you be giving the extra back to Equinti?0 -
The sages say that once RMG enters the FTSE top 100 officially, it'll rise further since large institutions have to add a quantity of these to their portfolio by rule.0

I think the point is that everyone should have been sent their "Shareholder Reference Number" over the weekend, when it was closed, but this is 'the government' we're talking about here. Imagine if Labour were doing the sell-off!0
