Katherine! I hope poor Mr Cobes isn't looking in on this thread! You remember what happened last month! Hahah:rotfl::rotfl:
It's funny when people have their forum names it's strange to think of their real life names! I'm never clicked that our Kat was a Katherine!Loveadove - Here Here! I've been on the brunt of posters not being very supportive on a different thread (funnily enough its called a supporters thread?!) And it really gets you down. Some people are just rude and obnoxious, thankfully I have this thread to come to with all the amazing people on it!
Walk away, those people aren't worth it. Their response says everything about them and nothing about you.
Fmess, I'm going to go against the grain and say keep the cards (Kat's retribution will be swift no doubt!) AS LONG AS YOU CAN RESIST THEM!! If you've kept them at £0 balance and are able to keep doing so then there isn't a reason to cut them up. People think of having cards in the house as a temptation, and I agree it can be, but credit is always available in some form (dreaded pay-day loans for example, not thatI'd ever, ever touch those) and so for me the debt free journey is more about learning to live with it but without needing it.
Personally I still have all my cards (4 total, 2 with £0 balance) and have just been able to tart my 0% balance transfers around to avoid interest, because I kept the card I could have otherwised cancelled.
Today is planned to be a SFD, although I may have to top up my oyster card this evening. I'm off the Edinburgh with BF to visit friends, so may not be checking in much over the next few days. Rest assured Kat, I will be challenge ready all the same!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

Do any of you with outstanding debt but it's 0% interest , have savings?
I've got 4 creditors who I pay £3 per month to each one, as suggested by PayPlan. (total debt around 18k)
Th trouble is it will take me 100 years, literally, to repay it.
I've got about £800 savings that is my "just incase" money.
I don't know whether to increase the monthly payment on them all, pay a lump sum off one, share it between them all or carry on with the £3 per month.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this please.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Out of your allowance £3 of food will be donated to the local food bank --- I'm ashamed to say I've never done this before. What sorts of food should I be putting in these bins? Is it pastas, packets and tins?

I take it you did a SOA before to see where you could save and maybe pay more than just £12 to all you creditors. Are you at home? Is there anyway you could earn a few pennies/pounds at home even just doing surveys etc? I would be inclined to keep the £800 as they don't make a big dent in the 18k but might be needed if your washing machine or so breaks? Could you cut your social fund, I know £24 isn't much but it's twice your debt repayments?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
I had planned yesterday to be SFD but ended up having to go to the doctor and the cold that I thought I had turned out to be a throat and ear infection. £7.85 on a blooming prescription for antibiotics!
The money had to come out of the misc budget. Hoping OH will take pity on me and give me the money back
Today will definitely be a SFD as don't feel well enough to go anywhere. Will add it to signature later.0 -
Hiya,
So far SFD 3/3
Lunches 3/3
Today am going to look into food bank, and also work out a budget for all the uni open days we're going to in October  At least the train travel is catered for with my season ticket, and DD can travel on SWTrains for free with me at weekends.
Tomorrow, will review DFD
Have set up an extra payment of £31 to leave my bank a/c on pay day - an extra £1 per day towards debt :T

I can't believe it! we've managed to put £190 into savings this month. I cashed out £40 on a survey site too which I'm tempted to put into the savings too but then I think we will need it for Christmas so might leave it in a separate saving account.
Went shopping yesterday and got a few bits but I still need to do some more (couldn't carry everything home) so I will wait until saturday I think. We've got enough til then I should hope! I'm going to get some housework done now and try and stop myself spending money! x
Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

I have done a S.O.A. and some months there is a bit of leeway but I've been putting this in the savings pot but it niggles me that I don't pay extra off these debts.
You are right about the social fund money and I'm working towards not using it this month. It's a trip out with my elderly Mum to get together with other family members for a carvery once a week. I didn't go this week and have put the £6 in with the other savings and was going to use it to pay off an energy bill that is outstanding (£320) I wanted to clear it before the Winter bill comes rather than it be accumulated.
I used to do Grassroots mystery shopping but I will look at doing surveys and have also got some things to sell on ebay once I can work my camera out. I'll use that then towards the debt. I'm not sure how I make additional payments but will contact them today.
Thanks for your suggestions. Very much appreciated.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5
