    Morning all,

Today is the ominous MOT/car service day. If all is ok and the bill is small, I will have a chunk of cash to pay towards my ccard debt. If the bill is high, I may have little or nothing. Got my fingers crossed!

However today should be SFD number 20 :) I thought I was going to have to spend money on getting the bus from the garage home and then back again later but I found on old prepaid bus card :) There is plenty on it for two journeys today :) Is anyone else finding that this challenge is leading them to have a much simpler happier life? I was ecstatic when I found this bus card!

Will be back later with an update on MOT/service spends (assuming the garage does it today)

Well after a few billing errors by Amazon (not taking money off my gift card, then emptying it, then saying they'll put 20 quid back on my credit card for billing errors with orders from 4 months ago - why not the gift card?, all very confusing) the £20 arrived now in my current account. Anyway, Don't need to buy anything else from them atm anyway, so will use that to pay off some money for the first order where the gift card didn't work on my CC.

  • Good Day Chickadees... what a palava trying to get into work AGAIN! I can see there is some worry about NOvember. And rightly so - it's horrific. However it's a learning curve.. aim high.. that's all I ask. Plan, Plan, Plan... which is what I have to do as well. It's tough but it will be worth it in the end.

My payslip has been published already. ..Whoop Whoop! :j:j:j

I am so happy you have one of each - my brother was first then Mumsy was blessed with me..:rotfl:so yes I was a tomboy as well. Never happier than trudging to the local castle ruins to play in the surrounding fields and get muddy. How have you broken the news to DS?? I love the MSE talk regarding clothings. Almost all my clothes when I was a kid were hand-me-downs. Didn't bother me at all. Expecially as I got bags and bags of it at a time sometimes from older girls at church...:T

Fmess glad your car stuff is gonna be cheap - nothing worse than nasty maintanence surprises!!

Traveller well done on not booking that holiday. There is nothing wrong with chocolate to get you through but it's the thinking about everything and planning which is important so I am not going to get too upset about no SFD counting!

LSD / Shyspender / Kittyboo - don't tell teh noobs but if you aim for at least 20 SFD I will be happy...(ish)...:rotfl:

    Ooops work calleth... back later!

DS was already very MSE as 90% of his clothes, shoes (why pay £60 in Clarks every 6 weeks?), beds etc were/are hand-me-downs from his cousins. Plus most of our friends have girls so I'm sure a few second hand things will come our way.

Initially we wanted to wait and tell DS after christmas as he can barely wait 10 min for his tea, never mind 4 months for a sibling. But we think he knows based on comments he made etc. so we took him to the scan, but not sure how real it was for him. Think he knows he'll be a brother though.

I am definitely going to aim for 25 but think 22 is more realistic as OH needs bread for lunch sandwiches at least twice a week and our freezer is always crammed full with my gluten free bread (which I get in packs of 8 loaves!)

I figured if I do a weekly shop on 31st October (money budgets run 25th-25th) then that'd save me one SFD in NOvember ;) is this cheating?

Fmess i thought of doing the same, but went to my freezer and cupboards and worked out i had 92 meal portions :-/ will be needing fruit/veg (although i do have some frozen) and bread and milk. Dh and dd take sarnies for lunch, and i usually have something toasted or a sarnie for my lunch.
How is bread after being defrosted? Im quite fussy and like nice soft bread, or i suppose i could buy stay fresh bread, usually has a week on it, and buy extra milk to freeze.

Eta: i have bread mix, ill use those up :) 7 packs :-/ lol
Still here..... but working on that!

I agree with this totally. I used to go into Clarke's and get their feet measured, then look round the second hand shops for them.
    I can't believe they're £32 for baby's first shoes.

Printed out a calendar for November. If I only have one well planned big shop a week on a Saturday I should easily :rotfl: make 25 NSDs plus 1 as the last Saturday is payday and the shop would be for December. How likely is that , not very.....However, I'l try. The hardest will be to say no to OH :o as he doesn't know about here and SFDs etc and will think I went a bit loopy. Shopping for christmas shouldn't be an issue as I either use vouchers or money that is sitting in an account called xmas, and there is one called MOT/service. So they don't count as spend days.

There will be bonfire night and the light festival but they shouldn't cost me any money. Otherwise there are no night outs planned. Plus atm it's easy to say no as I just pretend to be the moody grumpy pregnant lady that doesn't want to see anybody :p. There are also no birthdays I think, but I better double check.

Does he now know at all?? How on earth are you managing to manage him...:rotfl:... If you confessed what would he say! Does he have a competitive streak you could throw into the mix ...? I think you are doing such a good job by keeping this secret... hard work though I am sure!
