Thank you! Very excited about team pink. Always wanted one of each. Jokingly we called her the expensive version as a boy would have been cheaper ;). But will be very MSE and dress future DD in DS's hand-me-downs anyway. The first few years it doesnt really matter and most of his clothes are neutral. Although there will be a few girly things, dont want her to be quite a tom boy like i was. Also i am not fussed about gender specific toys. DS likes prams and i still got my old mecano set and cars. Anyway, sorry, just happy and ueberexcited that everything was ok. Better be off now before i get a warning for non money related drivelling, lol

I've got one of each two but other way round. We had a lot of neutral stuff from DD but DS did have the odd pink sleeping bag! :D
I sold loads of her clothes to fund stuff for him and a mate gave me a years worth of clothes for him which really helped, I really didn't buy anything at all for second baby, I sold a pram and bought a sling!

  • Oooh! Congratulations thriftylass!!!! :):):)

I am now trying to rack up my last few SFDs-aim is if we don't spend now for the rest of the month we can make 20 days!!!

We deffo have enough food-only thing is tobacco but OH should be getting 44 quid refunded money not his account the next few days so he can use that to get tobacco!!!! Silly habit!

Next month is going to be TOUGH!!!!!! Key will be prepping food for me as that's usually my downfall and looks like I'm gunna have to do a shop online which could be a bit expensive but it'll cover us for 4 months or more so should be worth it-everything that's is our staples is on offer at the mo so best time to do it!

Still need to do my donation and check my food budget-money went somewhere this month but not totally sure where?!!!!!!

Next month I'm not letting a penny slip through my fingers!!!
    Hugs to ALL

Didn't eat out at all today and only spent the prebudgeted money on dog vaccinations :)

  • Morning everyone,

Updated my sig, ive failed miserably with sfd's, did have one yesterday, and will get a few more today and tomorrow, but obviously wont get 20 now...
The good news is i have come in on budget :) the other bad news is that my maternity pay has properly started and next month i have no idea how we'll manage! 25 sfd's may be a nessecity.

This month i really tried to eat what we allready have in the cupboards and freezer etc, and am amazed by how much we still have. Two weeks i only spent £20 on fresh bits , cat food dog food and cleaning bits.
Ive now started my nov budgets, just need to work out how to get those 25 days in now, im thinking meal plan for the month, and xmas shopping will have to be done on the same day as food shops? Oh i dont know but will have a think..... Half term definately does not help sfd's!

    Congratulations thriftylass, team pink :)
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Planned NSD today so that will be number 19.
If my Grandson isn't coming today, I'm going to have a duvet day and read some library books and get lots of paper and start planning the November challenge.
Ooh, it's a tough one NSK but I'm really excited about getting stuck in.
Some serious planning is needed for this one.
I didn't used to spend as much time planning budgets, when I was a Project Manager.
It's hard for you that have children off school, as all sorts of things can crop up but I think everyone is doing a fab job.
Just one more NSD and I'll have completed that part of the challenge.
The only thing that's not been achieved is that I've gone over the food budget but I'll be looking at that before starting the November challenge.
We're almost at the end of this one but watch out cos the next one is on it's way.

  • Today is SFD 25!

I've signed up for next month but i think the minimum of 25 is going to be a lot harder. I was lucky this month that I had stuff in my stores but they are dwindling a little.

I have enjoyed this month though, and it has really helped with my spending thinking.

And it really helps reading how others are doing, their struggles and triumphs, it really spurs me on.

I wanted to break yesterday and get a bag of crisps at work, but, I don't take money to work anymore, so the answer was simple. It felt good!

    Morning all.

I just realised I don't know how many NSD's I've had  I think this is because I only really spend if we are out of stuff. As I shop monthly and definatley need more freezer space, most of the spends are planned. The exception to this, had been dealing with a very stressful workload and I've been compensating with chocolate :o Usually, I'd have a holiday booked and the planning is what kept me sane :D Now I've decided to forgo this (and I'm really feeling the withdrawal symptoms) I'm finding dealing with the stresses of everything head on, very challenging :o

I've put my name down for November and cannot believe we are nearly there :T I get paid on Thursday and cannot wait to whack those cards :T

Well done everyone and keep going!:D
