Which hotel are they in now and which one were they supposed to be in?
The last time my wife and I went to Prague (December 1998, before we were married) stayed in the Hotel Expo, which is away from the city centre and it wasn't bad, they charged for a chocolate bar from the minibar in my wife's room which she didn't take.0 -
What a load of old tosh, I will if I see fit seek advice and guidance where I wish, be it for my Son a friend or anyone, your own input has not offered anything of note and I am sure never will.
So may I ask you politely to move on, so that I can access the advice of posters that offer some valuable advice.
Matty
Matty, did you really need to reply like that to tinkerbell or Hintza? You're coming across as rather aggressive, imo.Thank you for your family advice, however I prefer to seek consumer advice that I may share with my Son if I feel it appropriate to his situation.0 -

I do wonder if anyone who knows will bother to post with the risk of getting their head bitten off if the reply isn't up to Matty007's standards.0 -
Looking at tripadvisor, I'd guess the first hotel was the EuroAgentur, and the one they are in is the Branik (based on the league table numbers given in the first post)
EuroAgentur has lots of reviews, some are very good, and some give good ratings but their description doesn't quite match the rating.
Branik has a few reviews. Some are reasonable reviews and a couple are stinkers.
If you read the best of one and compare it to the worst of the other, then you're going to have a skewed opinion. But the best opinion you could have (in terms of people wanting compensation) would be from the people themselves!1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

WTFH again you are jumping the gun, the tripadvisor reference was offering an overview of the likely different standard of hotel as you can also have a link to booking prices, if I cared to be more specific I would have given the exact names, your hotels are not the ones and their reviews are unlikely on their own offer a case for refund.
I have been seeking advice based on the service/accommodation paid against the service/accommodation received, its an obvious consumer lead inquiry, something that this forum is dedicated to.
I can however confirm that I have got a few quotes for both hotels for the same duration for next week, from booking.com and travelrepublik.com. and laterooms.com.
Their original and paid for hotel is coming back as £378.00 per room whilst their transferred hotel is coming back at £106.00 per room.
This is the reason that some appropriate action needs to be considered and why I sought advice from within this forum.
I appreciate the helpful and considered responses.0 -
Need to read the t&cs. I used to work for a holiday booking company and we HAD to outbook to the same star rating or above. If the hotel cost more, no extra charge. If it cost less, they got the difference refunded. This isn't the same among many though.0

I think if you wish to re-read the original responses from those posters, you may choose to see that my own response was appropriate perhaps even reserved.
I cannot comment on your own Hotel Expo in Prague, as I am not quite sure if you originally paid for another hotel nearer the centre, if not then ( in an un-aggressive way ) I cannot see the relevance, if however it was a due to an overbooked superior hotel please let me know your own actions and the outcome.

Again I apologise if you find my responses to some posters a little robust, however if you take some time to re-read their original responses then you might acknowledge some reason.0 -
I can see no reason for your attitude, that's after reading and re-reading the whole thread.
You have been given perfectly valid responses and been asked perfectly valid questions. You have been told to wait until the boys return to see what they want to do and whether they had any problems at the new hotel. Until they are back and you have the full story and can answer some of the perfectly reasonable questions already posed on here you are unlikely to get any other responses saying anything different.
You have chosen to post on a public forum asking complete strangers to give up their time to help you and then get snappy when you don't like the answers they give you.0
