It is OK. Easy to find things as you are channelled around!
The people that go there are so rude and odd. They look like they are zombies. Why does saving money have to be a grim experience, it makes such good sense, we need a chain that is inexpensive but culturally acceptable, an IKEA for food.~~~~~~~~Thinking outside the box~~~~~~~~~~~

Or maybe thats down to the area your Aldi is in? Never any issues like that in mine0 -

Funny, but I find the opposite in my local Aldi. The staff are all really friendly and so are the customers. It seems to be the done thing in our local one that if you've got a trolley-full, and the person behind you has a couple of bits you let them go in front.
Happens lots in Aldi. NEVER happens in the other supermarkets.0 -

They have let the wolf amongst the chickens and those that think they are safe following the rules are perfect fodder for them.
They are targeting hundreds of motorists a week with these through the post parking charges, ask yourself this, how are you going to prove you were not in breech of what the parking scammers claim ?
Is it simply worth the risk ?
I've heard that said on here before but it must just be in areas where people take advantage of the car park to go to work or do other shopping. I know mine has a limit on parking (to deter football supporters from using it on Saturdays) but it's never been an issue for me. I'm never there for more than an hour, probably less. I need to check the limit though.virtuallyfree wrote: »It is OK. Easy to find things as you are channelled around!

Ouch! I must stand up for the polite, well balanced people who choose to shop in Aldi. And I'm certainly wide awake when I'm shopping, don't want to miss the bargains or get caught out at the checkout or in the car park!;):rotfl:0 -

What do you mean channelled around? My Lidl and Aldi have aisles the same as every other supermarket. They are clean and well-lit too. I can honestly say I've never met a zombie - what boring shops we have here :rotfl:0 -
It is wrong to state that the check out assistants do not have the option to slow down. This is a supermarket we are talking about not a correctional facility. All cashiers will have parameters to work to but to suggest those parameters mean every single transaction has to go through at the speed of light is wrong.
Yes the cashier has a choice to slow down but if the management are strict about it thenwhat can the cashier do ? I dont agree with items being flung on the floor as mentioned, theres dong it at an acceptable speed and theres way too fast.I'm in my local Aldi a couple of times a week as it's just down the road from me and I've seen on numerous occasions cashiers adjusting their speed, usually without the customer having to say anything.
It might be the the stores management are lenient on the staff but from my experience the management were strict although I was only brought up once about my speed.0 -
Can someone explain how the checkout works please? Its sounds a nightmare!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Its not a nightmare to be fair, just takes some getting used to if your used to the slow pace of other supermarkets.
Load your goods as usual, get bags if you need them bring your trolley to the front and wait for the onslaught of goods flying at you (no its not that bad)!!
Place everything back in your trolley once its been scanned then pay and move off to the bag packing area.
Best to load the food on the checkout so heavy items are at the front, then light then breakables0
