no he didnt apply for civil service job
i work in civil service and regularly interview candidates for AO jobs in fact doing some more in a couple of weeks, and I would say to disclose it at the first opportunity we have had in the past candidates who have been taken on and then crb comes back and someone was dismissed for not being upfront - can we ask which civil service agency you have applied to please ?
Make £200 by end of January... £20.42/£200
Grocery Challenge £200 pm Jan £0/£200
January no spend days - 1/310 -

So my mother has confirmed it was ABH. Feeling a bit upset about it all now, because it was such a minor incident, I don't think a shuv warrants the same record as someone who beats someone to a pulp. But hey ho.
May as well just withdraw my application now
1. ABH covers a whole range of offending. Beating someone to a pulp would be murder, manslaughter or GBH (with intent). So the two don't equate.
2. No point in being defeatist. If you are up front about the reprimand, they will then decide whether the circumstances are such that they wish to employ you given all the facts and time elapsed. It's not an automatic bar.0 -
You have nothing to lose by declaring and explaining, I think you should go ahead and continue as you were, dont give up yet.0

Now you're being a drama queen. Pull yourself together. I've already told you just to be honest about it and let them judge you on it. You might still get the job.
If you withdraw your application, you certainly won't get it.
Get a grip of yourself. See it through to the end.0 -
Haha sorry, was just feeling a bit deflated. Drama over! Worst that can happen is they say no, it'll just be disappointing if they do because of something I did years ago. We will see. I will let you all know what happens!0

Yes, don't withdraw your application. In your case, it was a one off when you were a school kid. It's just unbelieavable how much anguish even non-serious convictions can cause years.....even decades later. Good luck.0
