Hello SandA,
The reprimand will be filtered, so, your DBS certificate will be clear, even on an enhanced check. Your decision if you wish to disclose this information to the Civil Service.

Hi
I applied for a subject disclosure thing a few years back and it was on there. I dont think its spent or anything as it came up on that0 -
It did not ask me about any criminal record on the form, so will they ask me directly at the interview? Does anyone think this will prevent me on getting the job?
It must have been on the form and you missed it. Either way the CS don't take people with undeclared criminal records. If you genuinely didn't see it then they'll assume that you just decided to lie (sorry but thats the government mentality - everyone is guilty until proven innocent) and you won't get in because they'll assume they can't trust you.
Might be best to ring them and actually ask them - just don't give your name and dial 141 before ringing lol.
Seriously even if you do get in, I've known them fire people within the first few days when something turns up from the backround checks at HR (yes they start them before offering you the job but they can still be ongoing when you start).
Ring them, ask them if it was on the form. If it was, you're kinda on a looser but if they do say it wasn't then thats not your problem.0 -
I have just spoken to Nacro. My reprimand is filtered out as I was under 18, and it filtered after 2 years. I didn't know about the new filtering system.
It was 100% not on the form, I have been over and over my application form and its not in there. Perhaps they wait until the end of the interview.0 -
SandA - When you go for the interview there will be a few forms to fill in before the interview, one of which will ask about your criminal record. Just make sure you DO mention the offence. If you don't there's a good chance they will 'call your integrity into question'. (I think that's the wording they used for me when they offered me a job and then withdrew the offer)
I was knocked back for not mentioning offences from over 30 years ago which I'd forgotten about. When my CRB (as it was at the time) dropped through the letterbox it was a bit of a shocker
edit:..... ''Either way, I dont have to disclose''
Not advisable ;-)0 -
Why if its now filtered out by the amendment act in May 2013? Surely it won't come up. I have just been told minor offences like common assault (which is what it was) are filtered of dbs certificates after 2 years if you were under 18?0

Civil Service don't believe that spent convictions apply to them. Just be honest and declare anything anyway regardless of filtering (though from what you mention the type of incident may not do you any favours).
If you don't mention it, they WILL find it and judge you for it anyway. The CS are a funny bunch to work for, very stuffy in many regards. Once you're in, you're pretty much in for life but they can be a trying bunch to work for if you make it past recruitment (and if you don't, don't take it personally - they are very strict and turn away a LOT of applicants).
If you do make it in and survive more than two weeks, pat yourself on the back because you really have done well to get through their recruitment processes.
Moons ago they refused to take on staff with mental health problems too (yet they'd happily cause them for you lol). Not sure if that policy has changed but seeing as the DWP themselves used to advertise on TV about mental health discrimination I would guess they might have changed that policy.0 -

I REPEAT, SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO DECLARE THIS INFORMATION. HER REPRIMAND HAS BEEN SPENT/FILTERED. HER DBS WILL BE CLEAR. Stop the scaremongering, please.0 -

Stop the scaremongering, please. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
