I seem to recall 'common assault' being on my last SAR, but its just that little bit of uncertainty
So, when your SAR arrives, put it in a safe place, with the birth certificate you've just ordered, and add your DBS check result to the file, you may well need them all again!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Actually, that's just reminded me: the DBS check is now sent direct to you, and the employer doesn't get their own copy. This does - as intended - give you the chance to explain anything unexpected which you haven't already disclosed, or equally to challenge anything you think is wrong!
Also, when you complete the DBS form you'll have to produce ID (lists provided earlier), and they'll have to be checked by a Real Live Person (unless they get you to do this through the Post Office). If they're checked by a Real Live Person you can ask them what level of check is being applied for!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Thank you
Oh I didn't know the employer doesn't get a certificate, suppose thats a little bit more relieving. Hoping my SAR comes through quick, I have read some say theres have come through in a week.. heres to hoping0 -
With what Savvy has said and you too, i would not declare anything and await the DBS result and or SAR whichever comes first come through. I think it is easy enough to explain the difference between common assault and Assault.0

I have seen throughout my research then if something turns up on the DBS undeclared, it is an instant rejection
I am hoping my SAR comes through asap, its been received today by the police station, so hopefully I get it back within a week or so (wishful thinking, huh?)0 -
I asked a friend who works in HR (not civil service) about this today.
His view was that in this sort of circumstance if the employer asks specifically about 'ever' been reprimanded etc, then you should disclose. This is separate from the DBS.
The existence of any record will not necessarily be an automatic bar. However, failure to disclose to a direct question could well be grounds for sacking / refusal.0 -

For an offence that will not be filtered from the PNC or DBS.0 -
So my mother has confirmed it was ABH. Feeling a bit upset about it all now, because it was such a minor incident, I don't think a shuv warrants the same record as someone who beats someone to a pulp. But hey ho.
May as well just withdraw my application now0 -
in my civil service job we all have to have crb checks done my husband had to have a full crb check done when we went to adopt a child my hubbie had a posssess offensive weapon when he was 16 he is now 48 and it showed and he had to explain it, he was coming home from college as he was training to be a chef with his tools and got into a argument and was fined.. Think its a standard.
