    NIL. Mine's electric.... :)

Don't get the electric car bit.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the cost to the environment over the lifetime of an electric car is more than that of an Aston Martin 6.0 V12 Vanquish over its lifetime.

    Save the planet!
  • We pay £250 for 2 cars.
    first 1 is a 2011 Mini, SD £30 per year; 2nd car is a 1984 Saab 900, costs £220 per year.

    No, nor me.

If it's in an urban environment, public transport makes more sense.
If it's in an extra-urban environment, the range is too big a limitation.

Then, of course, there's the small detail of electricity mostly being generated from fossil fuels, and the UK already heading for a serious generation shortfall in the fairly short term.

But I think that's another thread.

Why does it have to be about the environment? If you live within the congestion charge zones in London it'll pay for itself.

Also free charging and parking bays for electric cars.

Riiight. Just remind me how much less congestion an electric or hybrid vehicle causes than a "normal" one?

    Yep.

But, it's a banger. ERGO I don't tax it for more than six months at a time, because it might just have a catastrophic failure of some description.

Unlikely, it's a well serviced Honda, but you never know.

We pay nothing for the new C1 and it is a normal petrol car.
