Rltatty hope you get a positive answer soon. I am going to contact my MP as mine is still in early stages. I have applied for the old dla early this year took 10 weeks to get a big fat NO!!! even tho they admitted I need help but just not enough help. Things have got worse for me tho since then not only have I chronic illness but my depression has esculated and I have overdosed twice so could really do with a quick decision as financially am struggling too but they don't seem bothered.0

hiya. I would definatly advise the mp route, it seems to have sped my claim up from when the dwp got it back from atos. When they rang it was from a withheld number but i missed a call so they did leave an answerfone message saying who it was.
I hope you all hear something soon, i know the stress it can cause waiting!:)0 -
We are at 13 weeks, my oh had the medical 2 weeks ago and we only got it then by threatening to write to the works and pension minister.
Was it MP or local councillor? Our LC is a bit useless.
Good luck everyone0 -
If you're on income related ESA, you shouldn't have to pay for prescriptions. If you have a low income, you can apply for help with prescription costs via the NHS Low Income Scheme.
If those don't apply to you and you still have to pay for prescriptions, and need a lot of items (more than 13 items per year), you can save money buy buying a Prescription Prepayment Certificate.0 -

There in lies the problem. I work and im just over the threshold for any help. We BOTH need prescriptions so tbe prepay is no use meaning as I get 2-3prescriptions per month but they are split between the two of us im scuppered. We had to get rid of the car at the beginning of the year which means if family cant take oh to appointments its taxis at 40 a time (20 each way) thats every couple of weeks. I would be better off not working but I refuse to give up.0 -
Hi guys,
Just wondering if any of you know what a preliminary assessment means?! Just spoke to an advisor there for the PIP, and he says it has had a preliminary assessment that just needs double checking? But couldn't tell me any more. Hoping this doesn't mean it's a big fat NO! He had no idea how long it would be before it was double checked neither..
I am honestly inclined to think they have robots working there.. only programmed to say certain statements!
Thanks xx0 -
Hi all, quick update for you.
Ignore the post above, I got myself confused ha!
I have just rang today 23 October, and been told there was a decision made, had to push for the results but it's been awarded :-D. So happy that stress is finally over and done with. Decision was made yesterday, but I do advise people to call, as their post takes 7-10 days to arrive (bit useless if you ask me!) so 22 weeks from start to finish, although it will probably be 23 before I receive my backdated payment and award notice!
Hope everybody gets the awards they are due ASAP!
Take care x0 -
Rltatty so happy for you that you finally have a decision 7 - 10 days do they use carrier pigeon by any chance??? lol. Glad for you. Hope everyone else hears soon x0
