well thats christmas day 2021 over with.. was a little sad as dd had major relationship issues, which looks like may mean she will be single shortly as her fiance turned out to have some bad personality issues that he kept hidden, what an ar##hole.. lets see what happens, but cant see them getting through this tbh..
hubby back at work tommorow night, the weather has been snowy, wet and foggy , matches the murky mood im feeling after the revelations about the numpty now not to be son in law, feel so sad and sorry for dd, she had really thought this was it for her..
havent slept much, worried about how things will pan out for her, would prefer her home now tbh, oh well lets see what the next week brings..

gosh, belated happy new year diary!
What a start to the year, between christmas and new year we had major upset sorting DD out, getting her here safe, and all the sorting of belongings, getting her a car, and loads more, what a nightmare..
She is looking for a new job now, as she also worked for her exs business, im sure she will get sorted soon, main thing is she is safe..
MIL continues to get worse with altszeimers, and is giving us a lot of extra problems we could really do without, if only bil would pull his weight it wouldnt be as bad, but some people have a way of managing to make it so they get away with dealing with things and leaving them to other people.. oh well he aint going to change, always there to critisise, but never available to help..
thats enough of my moaning, my little enterprise is doing ok, had a decent january, and some decent savings and overpayments, overpaid £646.39 in January, mortgage now at £175,900, interest to go on that though so will increase 1st Feb..
£1215 saved in p.bonds, a massive ammount, from ebay sales, and all other saved cash, hubby did overtime over christmas, and i had a couple of really good days in the cafe. I dont think this will be every month, but its nice to have a good start to 2022 savings and overpayments at least!
my 2022 challenge is to get the balance below £160,000 by xmas eve, and try for £10,000 extra in p.bonds, have £27,400 as of today, so here goes ..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Happy New Year Sammy!
Sounds like a stressful few weeks for you. Hope everything works out for DD and best wishes to MIL.
Congrats on the overpayment! 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

gosh my diary is getting neglected with one thing and another..
Weather here is atrocious, like most of the country, no chance of opening my little cafe this weekend, and last two have been 1/2 days rained off, roll on spring!
Ive got food shop and house work done for this week, and ive done March budget, and all cash/ direct debits covered so thats a relief..
i work a month in advance, in case of emergency/cash crisis, so we in theory could have a month with no outgoings to find, and i have a £1000 emergency fund, it really makes overpaying and self employment so much less stressfull.. it too a while to get in this position though..
this month, ive managed to save £600 into long term savings/p.bonds, which is a miracle considering ive hardly been able to open my cafe.. ive been extra frugal, and not spent anything other than food, and odd chocolate treat, which we have gone back to weekend only, as daily treats have sneaked in, which means both i and hubby have gained a few unwanted pounds..
overpayments for February are £126.30, though i hope to make at least another small one next week if possible, lets see..
