we have started selling a few bits on e.bay de-cluttering, which is going well- all funds from this are going into an emergency cash fund we are building.. covid has made us super aware of the need to have a cash reserve for the unexpected, we would have been in a right tangle if we hadnt have had a stash when i was made redundant.
im thinking ahead to winter, and trying to think of something i can do on the days the cafe is closed due to bad weather to earn a crust, got my thinking cap on..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

the joys of self employment..
going to do an account tidy and make a small overpayment to cheer myself up.
Also, we won £25 on the p.bonds, so that can go off the mortgage too..

thunder storms today meant another steady day in my little cafe, better than yesterday tho thankfully....
im in an organised mood, looking forward to pushing us for a decent overpayment this month again..
meal planning, watching every penny, and looking for every opportunity to make savings are my main focus , horse insurance has come in for renewal, and has gone up £30 a month due to me making a claim, im wondering wether to cancel, and put the money in a savings pot.. need to call and check if the illness he had is now no longer to be covered, if this is so, im seriously thinking of the savings pot...mmmmcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

lovely sunny weather here, and for the weekend, so hopefully should mean plenty of customers!
Last weekend redeemed the crappy days , i was literally none stop all day sunday, and took a decent ammount to make up for the low takings earlier in the week
Today i rang and asked for an adjustment on my mortgage, as we were £11,403 in credit.. this has been done, and reduces the montly payment over the term by £37!!
I plan on doing this once a year now, i will of course carry on making overpayments, and i like the flexibility of reduced contractual payments if we have any bad months..
we have 197 contractual months left- 16 years and 5 months.. im aiming to be free of it in 100 months ...fingers crossed- it wont be easy, but i like a challenge..
i cancelled horse insurance, as it was £86 a month on new renewal, a rise of over £30 a month, and all the ailments hed had were no longer covered.. as he is most likely to suffer these if anything, it seems an expensive outgoing , so i will put cash aside each month for vet fees..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

monthly outgoings reduced by= £37 - mortgage, £88 horse insurance , and now £283 loan, as we have decided to use savings to clear this, not bad !
From this month now, i plan on dividing all extra cash after montly outgoings/direct debits sorted, 2 3 sinking funds of- p.bonds- long term savings, savings for annual outgoings, and d.i.y/works on house.. i will continue to make as many overpayments as possible too to the mortgage, and next july ring to adjust to reduce the payment again.. once the mortgage balance gets to what we have in long term savings, i hope to pay off the remainder.. cant wait!! few years yet to go thocurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for
