Poor old Mrs Dog thought she should have been allowed to come with us. She felt strongly enough about the matter to turn the kitchen bin over and strew the contents over the floor I washed yesterday.

Little bit of training and reassurance needed I think.
    Better is good enough.

Aw Boddy - that's a great thing to do! We rely on volunteers to be our patients and they make a real difference in our training..

WTG being awkward!! Its boring and unfortunately unrealistic if everyone is nice :/

I was press ganged as a couple of patients didnt turn up. Quite enjoyed it so going to sign up for it properly.

  • Thank you for the story about Toots - brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my lips.

DH has had his op, which he thinks went well - the arm is in the right place!

He thought he was on a morning list, but didn't get to theatre until about 2.30 - so at 5 o'clock I rolled up to pick him up to be told he was staying in. so I came home, fed everyone and rushed back to visiting.

He seemed pretty chipper when I got there! Hopefully he'll be home tomorrow...

Oh skint breeder, you've bought a tear to my eye.

Ive actually managed to get a lot done, off list though. Have finally finished the ironing, I've gone through all the babies clothes and put the ones they've grown out of away. I hoovered upstairs and mopped downstairs, I've wiped all the worktops, done 2 lots of washing, tidied downstairs and emptied the bins. Just watching great British bake off in bed then going to go to sleeps. As I'm pretty sure I'll be awake about 6 times in the night!

Brilliant that Toots wore fab shoes today :)

My Grandad died a year after my wedding - I asked my nan if he could wear what he wore to my wedding (he was so proud and had such a lovely day - he was a huge family man) in his coffin - she agreed - except insisted he have his fluffy sheepskin lined slippers on so that he didn't get cold feet (terrible circulation from longstanding diabetes/ complications) :D:D

Oh dear that just leaves ironing and the Toots paperwork on the chair that I brought in from the kitchen.......maybe I should check yesterday's list again....washing those kitchen windows suddenly looks very appealing :D

Looks like I have a Masters in procrastination. :rotfl:

I have taken out all of my paperwork folders out of the lounge cabinets, and moved them "temporarily" ;);) to Dining table.

I now have space for DS library books, a shelf to put all his jigsaw boxes, and more space for some of his bigger toys that don't quite fit in his toy box :) So they are lovely and tidy now.

I [STRIKE]decided[/STRIKE] procrastinated that I could use DD2 overhead cabinets for my household paperwork since I could stand on her bed without getting a chair out every time. So I have started on DD2 room Toots list.

All remnants of DD2 clothing and shoes bagged into one big laundry bag

All memorabilia carefully collected up and sorted from recycling, half a laundry basket of paper recycling taken from her room

Emptied all wardrobes, 4 chests of drawers (bar one drawer with hairdye in)

hoovered floor and behind two chest of drawers that are not bolted to walls/wardrobes

Bed stripped and fed to WM, currently in TD

unbolted DD2 bed, hoovered both sides of mattress, both bits of bed base, headboard and carpet on back of headboard to prevent wallpaper damage (that poor piece of carpet hasn't seen a hoover in yonks!"

wiped over skirting board before dragging chest of drawers back into position.

Then I went into DD1's room and removed a big carrier bag of paper for recycling.

I am no further tackling the paperwork on the dining table than I was earlier this afternoon.

Dinner was served on coffee tables in LR - oh well, if I really don't want to do this paperwork, I might aswell get on with flying round the rest of the house :D
The cold never bothered me anyway

Can't remember which mummy posted about having difficulty getting baby to sleep unless against your chest- have you tried a wrap type sling? My DD was the same and until I bought it, I couldn't do anything. With it on, she was happy, I could peg the washing out, clean the kitchen etc

Thank you for the story about Toots - brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my lips.
And to mine... Skinty's story too.
DH has had his op, which he thinks went well - the arm is in the right place!
Glad to hear that. Hope he can come home tomorrow.

LW, nice to have you back.

This morning I did WMx2 and started tidying and cleaning before we went to SW (also managed to get DH to tidy his piles of papers :)), and I finished off the two upstairs bedrooms and bathroom when we came back. DS1 had rung at 8.30 to say that DGD1 (3 today) was running a temperature :( He then rang back at lunch time to cancel today's party and rearrange for tomorrow or Thursday, depending on how she is, so I will have plenty of time to do the downstairs rooms tomorrow between DH's horse piddle appointments.

DH and I came home from SW a total of 12 lb lighter than when we started last week - both very pleased with ourselves :D:D I lost slightly more than he did, but he got second best in the class so was greatly encouraged.

The carpenter has made a very nice job of our staircase handrails :D

We used the free time this afternoon to go shopping - DH needed a new pullover and bought a fleecy top as well  We also managed to find 2 more curtain materials for the lounge that we both like and managed to get samples :T Will decide soon.

DH is at model railway club this evening. I am so tired that I have been falling asleep every 5 minutes whilst watching the GBB-O zzzzzzzzz Must go and make our bed now and will then fall into it and save New Tricks for another night.
