I was going to jump back in with both feet flying but after looking at the house and deciding that redecorating first might be the best plan, it looks like I'll be back next week.

    Yo moggins

Got a bit behindhand today - volunteering this morning and knitting group this afternoon :) Kitchen is done, so need to see what's next on the list ..............

Jo thank you for taking the time to report back after what must've been a very emotional day. I love the sound of Toots' shoes. I rarely wear shoes myself, but those sound awesome.

I got the lounge dusted, finally - with Bailey trying to take the duster out of my hand at every opportunity (I think he was of the opinion it was a soft toy). Dogs have had their dins and are quietly lying down - don't think that'll last long though.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Dailies done.
    Cat stuff done.
    S&Sed kitchen and bathroom.

Not much done off the lists as been at work all day.

Been role playing today as a patient. So the medical students can practise their communication skills. I was difficult patient today.

Sad that my neighbour is moving they have been very good to me specially when I was ill. Hope I get good ones again.

Jo Had a tear in my eye when I read about Toots shows. Was thinking about her this morning.

However, they did it in a really lovely way, where you could buy them "coffee and cake", for £8 or "cocktails on the terrace" for £15 up to more expensive items. I thought this was quite budget friendly, and nice that you were actually buying them something tangible IYKWIM.

I don't find that offensive, funnily enough. OH is a member of an exercise group and they have a particularly light-hearted approach to life - most of them are over 60. The group leader recently fell in love and married the man of her dreams, and when the group asked what the couple would like as a wedding present, she asked for contributions for tea at the R1tz. Someone in the group found out what it would cost, they had a whip round and M&J had their tea. Photographs were taken and shown around.

When I was asked to contribute to a honeymoon in Italy, I was offended, but the idea that you can give the couple something individual they actually want to do together doesn't seem so greedy.

OH got the washing in for me as it is now spitting, and I was busy in town doing boring things after the (very interesting) talk at the museum. I'm taking him out to dinner at Wevverpoons because he's lovely and I want to celebrate life today.
    Better is good enough.

Dusty - is it inspired by the French woodpiles? I need to tidy mine and get more ordered this week.

Yes but more so the Czech ones:D

I hope you have prepared them for the day they may meet Pigpen :D

After a quite emotionally draining day I have a stinker of a headache and I need to take DS2 to work in a minute. Then DS3 has a piece of homework he needs help with.:(

Ahhhh jo, thank you! I will definitely be making a Toots list! So sorry I missed your HHC, was giving baby May some baby rice in the hope she might feed less, quite a lengthy process not to mention messy but she loved it!

    Done :j

My very own list of horrors:
Get some revision done for the rapidly approaching exams
Weekly meal planning and sorting out what cleaning bits need replacing
Persuade DH to move bed to a more sensible place in the bedroom and empty the underbed storage of doom
Dispose of at least 10 items from the room of doom
Arrange a service for the boiler which is now saying it's due in the next 25 days (they were out last week but seemingly didn't notice this!)
    Change sheets on bed
HHI each day - anything that doesn't currently fit (i.e. not maternity) to go into proper storage
Arrange hairdressing appointment - booked through Wahanda with cashback, very MSE!
Prepare DH's work clothes for the rest of the week
Email to the council (useless again!)

Anything gone is done, thankfully today has been a little more productive despite lots of dizzy spells and (another!) afternoon nap. Going to make a start on dinner now in preparation for DH getting home - bless him, he has long days all this week and is already knackered and a bit fed up of his boss. I know I'm currently a day behind, but never mind, I will catch up in the end although I appear to have loads of guests descending again this week - I thought maternity leave was supposed to be relaxing? :rotfl:

Thank you for sharing the story about Toots, I didn't know her, but that story really sums up someone I'd have liked to know. All this talk of wedding gifts has reminded me that I need to get something for my little sis and her fiance too - they get married in just under a month  and are being wonderfully naive and evasive about gifts. They know most of the family have no money so they're not suggesting anything, but on the other hand, they have no money either and didn't live together before getting married (so have very little of their own) so it would be lovely to treat them to something that's going to last.
