I suppose I had better do something with this paperwork on the chair otherwise I will start on the kitchen window, and I really don't want to do either.........I would love an option to catch up with Fred today, I could cross that off 5 times over:rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0

And I can't even say what they said about EX FiL.....serious delusions of grandeur going on there.
 Then again, on Sunday, I did overhear someone discussing the 17 suits they'd need for the wedding. _pale_
Fizz: I was on Stratford Road last night; luckily, by that point, the dual carriageway driver had gone to bed. :rotfl:

Hi all.
I just had a shock, catching up with the Fred – I didn't realise dear Toots had made her journey to the Summerlands;:( I wasn't able to log onto MSE while I was away – there was wifi, but it was unutterably slow, so I only checked my email and did nowt else online, so I've missed the news.:( I shall light a slightly belated candle for her later on.
Sleep well, Toots, my friend.
Re wedding presents – when we got married, two friends specifically asked me to name a useful present, so I asked one for some bath towels and the other for a specific type of bakeware we didn't have (flat sheets for doing biscuits and such-like). Another chap, who we knew was on his uppers but was a keen amateur photographer, we asked to do the wedding photos and make that his present (it gave him a useful function, too, as he was attending alone, and also spared me the hell of being ordered about by a professional photographer;)). To everyone else, I just said “we both love dragons, so anything dragon-themed would be welcome”.:o As some of you will know, Mr LW had lived on his own for many years, and I moved in with him, so we weren't in need of anything much. We had a civil ceremony (for the legal bit), followed by a simple Handfasting.:o OMG, is it really 10 years ago??:D
Skinty I'm gobsmacked:eek::eek: – not so much at the asking for shares/premium bonds, though that does seem more than a little weird, but the “minimum value of £100 per person attending the wedding” bit is just.... well, words completely fail me! And as for effectively ordering someone to go and buy a new outfit.... that is so out of order!:eek:
Mumto5 so sorry to hear about your MiL's dog; it's so awful when they leave us, isn't it?
I need to dust the lounge. I don't want to. *cries*If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
p! Now having a cuppa as my back is starting to ache. Thinking of making tomato and courgette chutney tomorrow. Valli - are you betting I get a call from the supply agency for my first job since sept now I have jam to make tomorrow?:rotfl:
Mum popped round while I was in the middle of cleaning out the gerbil and washing the cat tray (same water, two birds and all that) with 'a few' plums...
13-and-a-half jars of jam now made! I didn't sterilise enough jars so I shall use the half jar and pass on the full unsterilised to ma and pa for immediate consumption;)
I am almost out of jam jars! First time in years I have had more full than empty!
So, other than a bit of decluttering no actual cleaning doen yet!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Maybe she was practising her handbrake turns, or drifting around morrison's multi storey?! :rotfl: I hate that road with a passion, the quicker they finish Asda the better!
I've cast off my sockand I don't want to take it off. So cooshy and cosy.

Welcome Karen.
I swept and washed the kitchen floor. Tiny started crying, not happy anywhere except on my chest. She is now asleep and I need to find a way to get her lying down without waking her.
I now remember why my house used to be such a mess 10 years ago when I had my first.0 -
if they are having the weather we have right now then the day will be a little easier.
The weather was dark, foggy and cold but thankfully no rain...
She had a huge turnout, and unsurprisingly everyone had a story to tell about how Toots and been lovely, supportive and pulled them through some dark and difficult times.
I have made her family aware of all of the comments, support and of course the online contributions to her chosen charities, all of which they are entirely grateful for.
I did bring home a story today, which I can share with you all.
For those who don't know her, Toots loved shopping... and was in her heart of hearts a 'girly' girl, often wearing pinks and purples. Whilst out shopping one day, Toots was admiring the most amazingly high heeled, glam pink sparkly shoes.
She marvelled at the ridiculousness of being able to walk in them, and giggled with her friends that she would never be able to wear them in life and made them promise that she could wear them now...and they kept their promise.
So Toots went to sleep today, wearing as part of her outfit, a purple top with a pink scarf and the most amazing pink high heels you've ever seen...
