Nicki.. yes perfectly normal behaviour.. mine are doing a 'mute' phase.. apparently they don't understand a simple question such as 'when did we discuss this?' (the answer being we didn't and you are in BIG trouble!)
Thats okay then :rotfl: For such an intelligent girl she can be completely illogical at times.
I'm doing filing and scanning and updating finances as I go...its going to be a long process but I'm making a start now and will stop at lunch time (12.15 here). I'm hoping I can clear lots of the papers into the shredding pileCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
This wedding gift idea has my brain working overtime
So thought I'd ask what you all thought about this instead of the suggested money...
Hamper contents:- pickled onions
- onion marmalade
- apple chutney (fruit free)
- garlic infused oil
- chilli infused oil
- blackberry & apple jam (fruit free)
- lemoncurd
- crackers wrapped in cellophane
- shortbread
I can get on and toddle to the shops in a minute if this looks ok. I have a lovely basket it can all go in as welland if I make too much I can use the extra for xmas gifts. (p.s. I know the oils & onions won't be ready, but will put a note in to leave them for a few months)

Thifty I thought getting married was about exchanging vows - and taking that bit seriously. I simply don't understand why people spend thousands and thousands of pounds on it all the surrounding stuff and then ask for money to have a holiday. Weird.
Many moons ago I was engaged to someone, and it was called off about a month before it happened, which was fine. The 'list' was five words: Glass, cotton or wood, please. (I still have some of the things, and I love them, but I returned most of them.)
Asking for money is begging, as Pigpen said. And Skint's tale of £100 of premium bonds (and being disinvited if one is too poor!) is so far off the scale of acceptable behaviour that words, honestly, fail me. (And that doens't happen very often.)
CY I hope your DH's surgery goes well, he recovers quickly and the news is good.
I'll be thinking of Toots today. She was before my time but I will remember her every time I think of my Toots lists. I have several and her name is often in my mind. Rest peacefully; you were and are much loved and missed judging by the comments on here. I wish I'd known you.Better is good enough.0 -

Well kitchen wasn't done last nightdidn't get home till about 8 and by the time tea was prepared/cooked/eaten and dishes done there was no energy left for flying. On the plus side, as most of the kitchen has been packed I can promise it's tidy. Clean dishes were put away at 1am when I got up for a hot drink to try and help me sleep (didn't work!).
Have an AS meeting tonight so will see what I get done in the couple of hours I'll have between works. Loving that I can already score off some tasks since the items are already in boxes, that's one way to get out of flying :rotfl:
Hugs to all who need them

Hi everyone. I'm in again this week, although a day late - not had a chance to catch up with the thread yet. Yesterday I only had about 3 hours sleep, then I had a man coming to install vinyl flooring which took up most of the day. I was supposed to have a flat viewing as well, but got stood up by the potential tenants (second time that has happened). After that, I was sooo tired I just went to bed for the rest of the afternoon. When my OH came home, we put our kitchen and utility room back in order, got some fresh food from Tesc0s as we had defrosted and turned off the fridge for the flooring man and that was my day over. Didn't have a chance to post or do anything else!
Anyway, flying has really helped me and generally, the flat is looking great. I've decided to go "off list" though as having viewings every couple of days means that the flat is constantly being tidied! I've got other stuff to sort out in relation to the baby and move, as well as packing, so my plan is to do a daily 1 hour s&s fly round the flat, and then concentrate on my moving list.
I'm currently attempting to sort out a £100K discrepancy between my solicitor's request for final money and what we owe them:eek:. I think they've missed out a "1" but I am a little worried in case they have been working to a totally inaccurate set of figures. I'm off to check my mortgage offer right now...
This weeks list is as follows:- Maternity bag:o
- Double check tomorrow's viewing with letting agency:j
- Go through larder and meal plan what can be used up
- Eb@y the few bits remaining that are worthy of it.
- Finish packing up the "posh" tea set.
- Sort out money and spends for the past few days.
- Research Landlord's insurance for flat
- Research/quotes for window cleaner
- Research/quotes for contract cleaner (insurance for if baby arrives just before tenants move in)
- Look at getting Sky/BT in new house - how does this work and costs etc.
- Chase solicitor re final monies due - sort out the £100k mistake on their invoice!!!
- Flat inventory for letting
- Check time of new home site visit - take tape measure with me.
- Get more boxes from supermarket
- Book in Sky installation
- Check registration of address via developers
March 2016 - £178,914.59; July 2017 £146,160.38
Mortgage end Sept 2043; Target - pay off by March 2022, now Sept 2021
Target balance July 2018 £112,5600 -

The worse bit I didn't mention I was told a seat at the sit down meal was £80 per head, with the inbetween the lines being "not a good value for money guest". My EX MiL was told to go and buy a new dress from Marksies and not to wear her "charity shop rubbish", so she nodded sweetly and went in her own smart CS clothes anyway, much to their disgust. And I can't even say what they said about EX FiL.....serious delusions of grandeur going on there.
I didn't go, I didn't send a card or gift, but I did send a fb message wishing them all the best. Strangely, I haven't been invited to the upcoming weddings of their other two sonsGood job too, I would have to re-mortgage :rotfl:
The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Madcatgirl- get that maternity bag packed especially your coming home clothes or you may end up with pre-pregnancy clothes and thongs if your OH has to pack it! I witnessed that happen to another mum on the ward bless!
Pigpen what is a binny baby?
I have sorted the marrow and ginger jam and the ratatouille is sorted. Just grated some courgette up for courgette cake. I will use these bloody things up! Now having a cuppa as my back is starting to ache. Thinking of making tomato and courgette chutney tomorrow. Valli - are you betting I get a call from the supply agency for my first job since sept now I have jam to make tomorrow?:rotfl:
Thanks once again for the wedding comments- reassured me that just because something is a modern idea it doesn't have to be a good one!Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Morning all,
Decluttered DH to the station and the boys to school. Been shopping, decluttered another £100in Ice1and and Ald!, refuse to buy ANYTHING else apart from bread and milk until Sunday.
Put all the shopping away, dragged out the contents of the drinks cupboard; kids have a habit of opening a new bottle of squash if the current one doesn't jump up and hit them in the face within three seconds of entering the kitchen. Managed to empty three big bottles by decanting so I can fit my weekend cider in the cupboard now
Also found a bottle of red wine which was open and had probably been for six months  Poured it down the drain and it looked more like rose, mainly because it had separated and there was 3 inches of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Ugh.
Have chucked some YS pork chops and barbecue sauce into the SC so DH can have pulled pork sarnies tomorrow. Pizza base dough proving for the boys tea. Our bed stripped, washed and hung up to (hopefully) dry.
DS2 forgot his PE kit this morning  so I'm off to drop that off, will take my marriage certificate into the docs and do the bottle bank walk of shame while I'm there.
Then home for ironing. What larks, Pip!0 -
Skintbreeder- that's outrageous! I was secretly hoping that they had separated due to their snotty attitude!
