Fizzwhizz and everyone else who likes Aldi, they are doing the £5 off a £40 shop voucher thing this thursday if you buy the mirror. I did this last month, bought 2 papers and did a big shop.Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0

I have sorted the marrow and ginger jam and the ratatouille is sorted. Just grated some courgette up for courgette cake. I will use these bloody things up! Now having a cuppa as my back is starting to ache. Thinking of making tomato and courgette chutney tomorrow.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Top tip, thank you! I love their cider, it's my favourite and my best (classy bird, me :rotfl:) so I could get 20 bottles for £35 plus the price of the mirror! Clearing space in the garage is being added to Wednesday's list
Tangent, but leaving Ald! today, I saw some crazy old dear exit the car park via the entrance and drive the wrong way down the Stratford Road (v. busy dual carriageway in the middle of Shirley) How she didn't cause a pile up, I have no idea. Then about 30 seconds later I was turning right onto a side street behind two other cars. First car went, second followed, first car decided he'd changed his mind and stuck his car into reverse and smacked into the car behind  If you're driving around Solihull today, keep your wits about you!0 -
kerri- I can't do links but if you type it into the search bar on the good food magazine website it comes up hth.
Fizzwhizz- not quite what I thought you would use it for but heyho! Enjoy!
Actually Kerri, the recipe is different to the one I'm using. I'll fetch my WI book from the kitchenCross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Basically, Skint, what those vulgar people are talking about is an expensive, and therefore, exclusive 'Ticket Only Event' with a dress code. What it doesn't bear any resemblance to is a marriage ceremony. Hideous.
Flying is tidying and sorting my Desk of Doom, restuffing my handbag (there's an old-fashioned word to conjure with), making some phone calls, and clearing a lot of paperwork. I've put the first load on the line, and I've got to walk the dog and jump in the shower and then go off for a £2 ticket only event at the local museum, which is going to be interesting (and is affordable).Better is good enough.0 -
Skintbreeder- that's outrageous! I was secretly hoping that they had separated due to their snotty attitude!
Actually it was the Dad that had the issue.....Karma is a witch with a Capital B, it wasn't long after the wedding when the shares that family and friends were asked to buy took a big nose dive due to an unhealthily large interest in Cyprus. While I feel sorry for the couple, a teapot will have still been a teapot :money:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Marrow and Ginger jam (WI recipe)
1Kg of marrow, peeled, de-seeded and diced into 1cm cubes
1kg preserving sugar (I've used ordinary and I'm going to add a cooking apple I think)
juice and zest of 2 lemons
50g fresh ginger chopped roughly
Put prepared marrow into large bowl with sugar, cover and leave in fridge overnight
next day, transfer to pan, add lemon juice and zest, bash ginger with a rolling pin and place in a muslin bag and add to pan
bring to the boil and simmer for about 45 mins before testing for a set, continue until setting point is found.
remove bag, skim off any scum, allow to cool briefly then transfer to pre-sterilised jars (about 6)Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
