I've signed up for the gym now! And got a personal trainer appointment to help me on what kind of exercises I'll be needing to do. Although the next couple days I can't do excessive exercise due to getting a tattoo on my leg...
I'm going to go tomorrow to do get my membership card and some light exercise.
Food wise I'm doing smaller portions of my favourite dishes, for example I really fancied lasagne, so I made one, but instead of dividing it into 4 pieces, I divided it into 6 pieces which are less than 400 calories each. I had it with salad last night. I also put a lot of veg into it.
Ooh whats your tattoo of?
and excellent way to handle foodThats what I try to do or easy adaptations... which for me usually means dropping the cheese and meat I don't really like either lol. I have the hairy dieters cook book and they suggest swapping the pasta in lasagne for pieces of leek not tried it myself yet but a very dubious friend said it was actually ok... So I'm thinking maybe I'll try that next time I make lasagne
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
Hi all,
WW - sounds like things are a bit manic at the moment, hope you manage a bit of time for you (oh and fling too of course!), am sure all the hard work will pay off though.
maman - ooh, hope the Indian head massage went well, I quite fancy one of those, looks quite relaxing. I'm pretty sure you can use most oils for cuticle oil but LL is our homemade products expert I think
Rummer - glad you're feeling a little better, sounds like you're doing great under the circumstances - the main thing seems to be just looking after yourself x
LL - glad you're feeling better too (see we're all bouncing back!) hope the shoulder and back ease up soon. How disappointing about the salon cut though, I must admit it's one of the reasons I tend to usually just do it myself now. I find it quite hard to get someone to do it how I like it and then feel a little resentful about spending my hard-earned cash on something I'm not happy with.
maddie - good luck with the gym! Money-saving is all relative really I think, if it works and makes you feel/look better then it's worth a bit of extra cash.
Teacher - ooh, mince pies already - I'm trying to restrain! Mind you, ended up buying some chocolate gingerbread things in Lidl the other day and they all went in one nightGetting no more of them! Great news on the Chanel, and what great timing.
Been an okay start to the week - definitely getting nippier though, had to dig the scarf and gloves out. Luckily I have adorable owl gloves so made me smile to get them back outHave been making more of an effort with the healthy eating. Slightly embarrassing confession time - have never made an omelette myself before :rotfl:Had millions but always made by OH, and before that by my mum. First attempt was actually quite good - luckily they seem foolproof lol. The exercise not going quite so well, but still got the dregs of a bad cough so trying not to overdo it too much. Braved the scales as well - they were not kind to me
Still, just means I have to do something about it, huh?
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Very quick post:
I watched the Martin Lewis Christmas programme tonight and three 'smell alike' perfumes were featured. The Lidl one, Next and an Autograph one from M&S.;)0 -
Well my great plans to up the exercise have had to be shelved. Not been feeling great this week - cold and headaches. I did do a double cleanse, tone and moisturise this morning so thats something.
I have been having a problem with very dry skin on my elbows so I put some lip balm on them and its made a huge difference in just one day. I am really happy about this as it was geting quite sore.0 -
So had my consultation with my personal trainer today for the first time. Even though we only did 20 minutes or so I'm knackered! My legs are like jelly. I dread to think what the hour sessions are like.
Turns out I'm about 47% fat... A healthy fat percentage is 35% I believe.
Personal trainer is very expensive but I really hope it does me good and keeps me motivated!0 -
It's good that you're doing something for you sharon. I think there's a feel good factor after exercise but it's so easy to put off. The fact you have the appointment with the trainer and you're paying should make you stick with it. I suppose you'll be going to the gym for other sessions too? That and the sensible eating should really help at reducing the fat %. Good Luck!
I'm planning a good pamper session tomorrow. DH is out for most of the day so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity.
Definitely on the menu is a deep condition for my hair and then blow dry it. I'll do a face mask, bit of an eyebrow tidy and cream myself all over (including my feet!).
We're having curry tonight (very lazy, ready-made from Sainsbury's), a nice bottle of wine and watch the football.
Have a good evening all:)0 -
Afternoon all! Yet another madly busy week and quite an annoying one - boss is being a real n*b and getting me down a bit, but after a bit of a sulk and a rant to Fling I've decided to rise above it.
Had a productive day so far - been to the park with the dog, Sainsbobs, full clean of the house, 2 loads of laundry and a general sort round. However, I look like a tramp so the next job is to sort myself out - bath, defuzz, face scrub and hair and make up. I bought some hair dye today so I'll get that done tonight hopefully while Fling goes to the Imax cinema with his almost grown up son.
Looking forward to watching the rugby this afternoon and then its another dog walk and a load of lovely marking - not fun.
I bought a smart casual dress yesterday - teal, a new colour for me, looks quite nice and has half length sleeves so good for the time of year. I got a second one sent from Next but don't like it so its going back (party frock for the Xmas do). Can you tell it was payday and my payrise has finally materialised!:rotfl:0 -
Wow! you've fitted a lot into a morning ww! Agree with 'rising above it' always the best was IMO, why would you want to act like a bit of a 'nob as well!;)
I've had my pampering session and feeling really well groomed and cared for.
Hope it's not too daft a question but wanted to ask how everyone logistically fits in a facial and deep condition on hair. I ended up:- getting in the shower and washed my hair then put conditioner on and combed it through plus cleansed face.
- got out and cursory dry and put bathrobe on and showercap to stop hair dripping.
- put face mask on and rested for 15-20 mins.
- took off face mask
- got back in the shower to rinse hair and use shower gel.
- came out of shower and did all moisturising (face and body).
- cleaned the bathroom while moisturiser soaked in
- got dressed
- blow dried hair.

i put hair mask on rather than conditioner and i just put it on my hair as it is, i don't bother washing it first. this usually scrapes my hair off my face so i wash my face and do a mini facial then when then when the face mask is done I jump in the shower to do my hair.0 -
I'm MSEing with freshly painted toe nails and a face mask on.
Had a bit of a fabbing wobble this week.
I've noticed an improvement in my skin since I've been using the superdrug naturally radiant range and the body shop blue corn face mask. I've had two people comment on how good my skin is looking, so I was feeling good.
Anyway, I was down Kensington high street and got dragged into a beauty shop by a lady trying to flog me skincare with gold flakes in it. Anyway she said I had lots of big open pores and blackheads and then pulled out the 'ugly mirror' which showed up every blemish on my face. For a few seconds, I did think that all my fabbing was pointless, but I'm over it now and back to fabbing.
The 'ugly mirror' was one of those magnifying ones, but I'm sure they've done something to it to make you look hideous so you'll buy the products.
In case you were wondering, the price of the cream in $ (couldn't find £) is $128.:eek:0
