    Hello Everyone

And a warm welcome to Sharon and Pixtotts. It's also nice to see "our returners" back in the fold:rotfl::rotfl:

Well I am keeping up with the sleep, rest and healthy eating. Feeling tons better. I've had a bad back and a frozen shoulder and a sore neck (I know I'm a wreck!!!) so the exercise has rather fallen by the wayside this week.

However, today I made the most of the lovely warm sunshine we had here and planted a lot of spring bulbs in DS2's garden so a bit of moving around there......

Sitting on a Swiss ball is excellent for improving posture and balance - it really works those core muscles. I often sit on mine whilst watching TV. I also throw in some exercise using hand weights whilst I'm at it.

In order to stay mobile and ease the pain I've had to resort to those stick on heat pads on my back, plus the wheat pack on my neck. Anyway physio booked for Tuesday so hopefully that will help get me back in action.

Had my hair cut and coloured, not very happy with it. Plus the salon was absolutely freezing. I think sitting around for a couple of hours with wet hair in a freezing cold salon is what triggered my back/neck/shoulder problems because I was fine before then.

So......a disappointing hair result and a physio bill into the bargain. Time for a new hairdresser.

Re the facials. I do a couple of treatments myself each week. It's been a long long time since I had a professional facial. I often think about it but that's as far as I get.

Yesterday, I gave myself a deep cleansing facial, warm flannels to open the pores, followed by a gentle exfoliation with bi-carb and then a clay mask to deep clean and draw out any impurities. My skin looks brighter and feels nice and soft now.

Still using up my perfume stash, won't need any more for quite some time. I also have loads of aromatherapy oils which need using too so as soon as I have worked my way through my stash of body lotions, face creams etc I intend to start making my own products again.

Time to cook something nice and then visit OH.
  • Planning to have a home facial and manicure tonight. Interesting about having twice weekly facial scrubs. I will do a facial scrub tonight too then.

Completely misread this and saw sitting on a Swiss ROLL!!!!
    The mind boggled!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Got distracted by Richie Rich and last episode of Downton so no facial done last night!!

I did go to the gym yesterday and have a walk so at least I did some exercise. My main goal for this challenge is weight loss. To that end I am aiming to up my exercise this week:
    Monday - Aquafit class
Tuesday - Body pump class (went for the first time last week, enjoyed it and able to work at my own level which is good)
Saturday - walk, swim. If time allows I will go to a class at the gym
    Sunday - gym session

Bicycle ride yesterday, followed by fabbing of hair and body moisturised, not much today, felt really poorly earlier, so quick trip in the rain to chemists sans any makeup.

I have, however, signed up with a personal trainer at a small private gym to try and regain a lot of the strength lost by lack of exercise following 2 years of pain and surgery on ankle, still have the pain, but have to start as the years are flying by (mid 60's) and I absolutely need do something before it is too late:eek: Not the most :money:solution, but I visited the BIG gym and it was so huge and scary and full of very fit guys that I could not brave it, unfortunately no women only or oldies sessions unless sent by ones GP. So please wish me luck on Thursday for my first ever gym session:(

    Missing my peels :-(
Still dermaflannel tonight! I need to do my brows but I might leave them and get them waxed on payday.
I properly blued my streaks at the weekend so they are fabulously bright yay. Still cutting my hair myself my hair is now bra strap length.
  • Hi all - the fabbing is sounding great everyone!

How are everyone's winter blues doing? Are you easing into the rhythm of winter and blasting the heating or giving up and hibernating?

Allie- Sounds like a great week of gyming- I love bodypump but I'm currently in the grip of a spinning addiction which has taken over!

Rummer- sorry to hear you've been feeling so poorly- big hugs to you and let's hope you're quickly full of beans again :j

LL- very lucky having a big perfume stash! Sorry to hear you had a crap salon experience- after you've made the effort to go and looked forward to it that's disappointing.

WW- Sounds busy but I guess it comes with the territory- hope the course is going well but good on you for grabbing some quality time with the fling- a lovely evening together here and there goes a long way! That's all we're managing at the moment every week or so but at least then it forces it to be quality time!

After mentioning Chanel the other week it was like my fairy godmother was shining upon me as a relative who was bought some passed it on to me as they don't like it (crazy I know!) what a generous amazing and well timed gift! :T

Tonight has been mince pie central in my house- i'm on my second one with a cuppa and there's still one more in the box... eek! Could really do with doing my nails but I think I'll have to make do with applying a shiny top coat to freshen them up as i'm not going to stay awake long enough for a few coats to dry!!

    How was everyone's Monday?

  • lessonlearned thanks for the welcome, and sorry to hear about your disappointing salon experience :(

Teacher2b Ooh lucky with the Chanel!

I'm feeling really iffy today :/ I joined a dietbet a month ago which finishes in a couple of days and I was on track to just make target and win my money back... damn time of the month has gone and messed that up, no change in eating, and I've put on 5lbs in a day! So annoying because I know its what happens and give it a week and it will drop as quick as it came.
And to top it off I was planning on getting into bed and re drafting my CV, only now I cant because I've lost the folder I take to job interviews, it has in it my current CV (no copies of because laptops just had a new hard drive) as well as all of my certificates, including my degree, so now I'm scolding myself because I knew I should have put my degree back in the frame on the wall :/ (saw a job I really want to apply for too!) Gggr!

Something a little more positive... I'm thinking of going and getting my hair cut professionally again, haha I make that sound like such a special thing to do...I had my hair cut short hated it so I've hardly ever had my hair cut since, 2 times professionally in last 5 years....but last time did I had a side fringe and she thinned it and I absolutely loved that! I cut it myself now, but I'm not brave enough to thin it, or go too drastic with the shaping but don't want to spend much on it either, so I'm considering going to a college salon, but then I'm also really scared to let anyone else cut my hair :/

I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....

Put on make-up, best jeans, cuddly cashmere jumper and scarf and trotted off to practice nurse to have ears syringed, not my favourite thing, but once ears all dried out might be able to hear better, hope so, meeting some family for a meal out, could be funny as BIL doesn't hear too well and will not go and see about hearing aids, so that might leave OH and SIL doing all the talking:rotfl::rotfl:

Dog to walk and then had better take off the slap etc and start the process all over again, meeting half-way so over an hour drive:eek:

I've signed up for the gym now! And got a personal trainer appointment to help me on what kind of exercises I'll be needing to do. Although the next couple days I can't do excessive exercise due to getting a tattoo on my leg...

I'm going to go tomorrow to do get my membership card and some light exercise.

Food wise I'm doing smaller portions of my favourite dishes, for example I really fancied lasagne, so I made one, but instead of dividing it into 4 pieces, I divided it into 6 pieces which are less than 400 calories each. I had it with salad last night. I also put a lot of veg into it.
