Please may I join you? I have been lurking and reading for a while now.

I am retired and have plenty of time to make the best of myself, and all the goodies necessary, but suffer from low energy some of the time, so never seem to have the housework, the tiding and "me" all up to scratch at the same time:eek:

Weight is fine and hair cut well and regularly, but need to try and be consistent about everything else.

I am a regular on the "no more toiletries" board, and like over there you seem such a lovely supportive group of people:D

  • I've got a day off work today, cooked a proper dinner for a change and got 2 extra portions for later! i forgot how much i missed cooking but i don't feel up to it when i get in from work usually.

LL - thats brilliant news about DS's promotion!
  • Welcome maddiemay. I've recently retired too. I've found this thread very helpful. Since following it I've been moisturizing all over regularly and it's really made a difference to my skin. I also usually use perfume and make an effort to look nice, even if just going into town. Have you tried the Flylady thread. I've also found this very helpful. Even if you do the 15 minute tasks it makes a difference.

Thank you for the welcome, no, I have not really tried the Flylady thing, it all looks a bit daunting, but I often do the 15 minute sessions and also see how much I can get done while waiting for the kettle to boil etc.

Today - been for my B12 injection, so should have more energy soon. Wore a nice dress and thick tights, full, but light makeup, hair tidy. Didn't get to the body moisturise and forgot the perfume! baby steps?

Hi all and welcome to the newbies!

Apologies for not commenting individually, but sorry to hear some of you are feeling a bit under the weather and de-motivated. Most admit have been feeling rather the same way this past week, still not feeling right after flu bout and combined with dark nights, fairly miserable weather and bad writing competition news (boo!) it seems to have just made me want to hibernate.
Still, no more excuses - need to get back on track I think. The water article was quite interesting (though being a photographer, did spot the change of lighting from overhead to frontlighting on the second piccie - bit of a cheat there as instantly helping the dark circle look!), still might be worth a try - at least it's cheap and relatively easy to try. 7 weeks today until Xmas (eek!) so that's not a bad time-frame to get some changes in I think. Going to concentrate on eating better, drinking more water and trying to get some exercise in (actually the latter may need to wait a few more days until I get rid of the tail-end of this cough but still). Hope everyone is having a good day x
  • mellymoo - there's a Lidl coco mademoiselle?! I buy the moisture mist occasionally as it much cheaper than the parfum- still nearly £30 which is out of the question! Is the Lidl any good?

Well done on all the fabbing efforts guys keep up the good work!

Sorry to hear a few people are feeling a bit rubbish- i'm the same to be honest I'm hoping the excitement/ busyness of christmas will snap me out of it!
