Speaking of the next man - WW how are you? How is it going with the fling:rotfl:

Hello all! Really sorry I haven't been around for ages - life has been bonkers!
Loads has happened - got promoted at work and that's brought lots of extra work, the Fling is still on the scene (6 months now!) and still going strong, family up and downs and a general hectic life.

So a bit of detail.....Fling is now officially the BF (at my age!) and he's started a new high powered job and is "the boss" and has lots of new committments and is really rushed off his feet but is still making lots of time for me, bless him. He's also looking at a new house having sold his old one to be closer to work and me. Awwww!
I'm now deputy head of department (with a very ineffectual head of dept) and the powers that be are making noises about making me head officially  - things move very slowly in school so not holding my breath. The pay rise I got was very welcome though - although I seem to be spending like its going out of fashion at the moment. Must rein in it quite a bit or I'll be going down the slippery slope again.:o School have put me on a leadership qualification too, a course that takes a year and is a lot of extra work but it will be worth it to allow me to progress to assistant principal eventually.
My mum has been poorly but seems to be on the mend now - thyroid and blood pressure issues - she's now on medication and is nagging again so normal service is being resumed.:rotfl:

On the fabbing front - I've managed to stay the same weight somehow (not much effort going into it, must just be the constant rushing about) so I'm happy about that, its stayed off for a year or so now (give or take a lb or two up and down) so hopefully I've cracked it. I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday and so it looks a lot better now, its grown lots and I like the length but it was looking a bit unkempt. I also managed to do my nails and eyebrows the day before so look a bit more human now.

I went for a consultation at Clinique a while ago and spent a fortune but thankfully it appears to all be working. My new stash includes a dark circle corrector (that works!), new richer mosituriser, a primer for colour correction and foundation that is actually the right colour (its for asian skin but seems to be a match for my olive dark skin). I wa there about an hour but it was well worth it and the consultant wasn't at all pushy. I can tell the difference and others have commented so worth the splurge.

I'm still walking miles most days with the dog (weather permitting, just back from a wet and windy slog arond the local area) and swimming (less often due to time but I love it once I'm there and feel better for it so should go more often).

So, all in all, life is good but really really busy!

Thankfully its half term for me now so a chance to catch my breath!

Hope everyone is well - I'll read back through the posts later to see what you're all up to! Nice to be back. xxx

One of the girls at work gave me some lovely suits that will show off me legs (me tomboy alllways in trousers lol) so im going to start wearing those.
Today is peel day then eyebrow neaten if I have time I'm gonna paint my nails but thats the only fab thing I can't get my head round lol.
    Hope you are all okay.
  • Congratulations on your promotion and your relationship WW. I've had a flu bug for about a month but feeling much better now. Getting back into exercise. Went to a yoga class this morning, and trying to have a walk most days. Also trying to do a bit in the house most days to keep on top of housework. My Mum is quite frail now but my sister is coming to stay for a few days next week which will be nice.
  • congratulations WW! xx

    Hello Everyone

Hope you are well and didn't suffer any ill effects from the storm. Our neck of the woods was unaffected.

WW - glad to hear things are going well - enjoy a well earned rest over half term - you've earned it.

Some good fabbing going on here these days. Ladies pat yourselves on the back.

VNS - your regime sounds a little like mine - walking, yoga etc. I am aiming to get the Wii set up this week.

Today I was very brave - I added a bit of jogging to my walk - my version of Couch to 5K. Waked the distance of 3 lampposts and jogged one, walked 3 etc and so on. Slowly but surely.

Early night in a minute, OH has a hospital appt tomorrow.

My hands feel like sandpaper so some extra TLC required there. Have finally booked a hair appt for next week. Physio booked for this Thursday.

    G'night all.

Sounds as if you are all doing great stuff, I had my hair cut and coloured this weekend - which is all just routine maintenance really rather than anything fab and so far only one person noticed enough to comment on the new do.

Also been and had my mammogram, so now hopefully all up to date with the usual MOT stuff for another couple of years.

I've been back on the C25K with a vengeance and getting out to walk and run as required three times a week - feeling rather chuffed with myself over the weekend for having ran a full 25 minutes without a break. I keep hoping that sooner or later the amazing athletic body is going to show through but its not happening.

At the moment my priority is to lose a few kilos and overhaul my wardrobe as struggling to fit a lot of my clothes.

Great to hear from some ex regular posters and hear their news :j
    Hugs to you Hewie :A

    Fab wise:
    Usual dog walk
Trimmed my eyebrows so they look better now

I may give myself some sort of challenge for November. There's so much that needs attention it's difficult to know what to focus on. I'm still decluttering so I'm going to pick out 10 pampering products to use up during November. I'm really bad at using eg hand cream or facial oils.Anything that's a faff.

I'm going to grab a sharpie pen and label these 10 products to use up.

And have a think about anything else I can do during November as we move closer to the solstice. I'd like to get fitter!

    :j
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hello all again! Its been a busy week - was out for the day with the Fling on Monday and home to see the parents on Tues/Weds and out again for the afternoon with Fling today. I've also managed to mark a set of exams and get a few things organised for work but there's still loads to do before I go back next Monday. :(

On the fabbing front - not a lot has gone on this week apart from the usual stuff but I have been making more of an effort with my hair since it was cut and coloured on the weekend.

On the negative side, I've just done a budget to payday and things are quite tight. I've gone a bit bonkers lately, spending willynilly and it has to stop. I'll get my payrise through next payday and things will look much better then but until then (2 weeks) I'm going to have to be good.

I do need to buy a new pair of work shoes on the weekend - the current ones have lasted over a year and now have worn through on the soles and I desperately need new ones.
Will have a look online to see if there's any reasonably priced pairs - I wear them almost every day so buying cheap ones is a false economy really.
I've just paid my credit card bill and Next statement so I'm all up to date but no more spending!

    Hope everyone is well?

    Good morning all

Well done with the running Kiwi - not done my mine for a few days because my back has been playing up. Went to physio yesterday and feel a bit better so hoping to try again today.

I've finally got round to booking a hair appt - Monday. Other than that like WW I am on a mission to micro manage my money again - have been a bit too free splashing the cash.;) So yesterday I got to grips, moved some money around, opened a new savings account etc.

Took OH to see one of his consultants on Tuesday - she was shocked at his deterioration. Unfortunately she just blurted it out in front of him, she wasn't very tactful. He was very subdued for a while but thankfully he seemed a bit brighter last evening - at least whilst he was awake. He sleeps a lot now, just drifting in and out of sleep. Still as long as he is comfortable.

Don't forget it's Fab Friday - get those glad rags on.

Off to ASDA this morning, will stick to the list and try to avoid "bargains".
