Finally after four months of starting, stopping and starting all over again I am at the end of the Couch to 5k programme and ran for a full thirty minutes earlier this evening. Other than a great sense of achievement and aching legs through most of it, I have yet to see any benefits of the fabbing kind. There must be some, surely? Seems a little unfair that after all that effort you don't actually end up all toned and honed with a body like an athlete.
Other than that just the usual Thursday night fabbing rituals for me - a good wash and scrub up, followed by a lick of nail polish. Seriously need to sort my wardrobe and buy some more summery clothes as it's getting very depressing looking in there at the moment. I was hoping to have lost some weight by now and struggling to find things that fit.Mortgage

My fabbing has fallen flat on its face
Every day I am managing the basics of showering, hair wash and condition and tooth brushing and that is about it. Oh and I always pop on a spray of perfume.
However I am not styling my hair just leaving it a half straight/half wavy mess and the outfit choices I have made are poor to say the least. Exercise is something I haven't even given a thought to although I know when I am out walking I do enjoy it.
Healthy eating has gone out the window, not helped by the fact people insist on giving us loads of sweeties and junk. In fact last week I emptied the cupboards and filled 4 carrier bags with sweeties and junk food that people have given us and not one item had I bought myself. I have continuously asked them to stop but they are not for listening
I think I need a good shake to get myself back in gear! Tomorrow I am going for a walk and I have time set aside for some personal and home fabbing which I am hoping will kick start my good habits.
Writing it down has hit home that I really do want to get into better habits!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
For me my healthy eating/exercise plan started today.
I had my first full personal training session. It was intense and I ended up looking like a tomato afterwards, but it's all good and will help me lose weigh, tone up and boost my metabolism.
For fabbing up. I'm asking for some decent make up for Christmas. I also need to invest in some good anti frizz serum or something. I also need to get a hair cut at some point too.0 -
Hi all... let's all make sure we concentrate some energy on being fabulous this weekend!
After two days off work feeling completely run down and lifeless I went back yday still not feeling on top of the world but going to relax in bed for a bit before serious fabbing starts (OHs graduation meal this afternoon- feel it is very important to strike a good note with the mother in law who is v. v. glamorous!) So after I drag myself up and complete cleaning etc here is the plan:
Bath, shave, exfoliate
Moisturise
Paint nails- undercoat and top coat
Blow dry hair
Make up
Perfume
Select outfit/ handbag/ accessories
Gosh it's hard work being a gal sometimes![STRIKE]7lbs to lose [/STRIKE]

Hi all... let's all make sure we concentrate some energy on being fabulous this weekend!
I had a bit of an epiphany yesterday, chucked some !!!!!! clothes out of the wardrobe and started to think about diets and how to lose some weight. I read up a load of stuff on pros and cons of various prescribed plans etc. and decided none of them are ever going to work for me.
I realised really I just need to do some good old fashioned sensible eating and drop a few pounds before Christmas.
So I am all fired up and back on Myfitness pal; recording all food, drinks and exercise. I'm just looking at this as a short term kick-start to a healthier new year project and aiming to lose five pounds between now and Christmas. :T
I recorded everything I did yesterday and cos I did tons of gardening exercise and went for a run I managed to stay within the boundaries on all counts (fat, calories, carbs etc.), even after eating six Jaffa cakes. :eek:Mortgage

Morning all !
Kiwisaver -I'm joining you on the 5lbs before Xmas weightloss effort. That would take me back to my lowest ever weight and make me feel a whole lot better. I weighed on Friday and today and I'm not thrilled with the results so more effort starts today.
Just back from a 5K run - struggled a bit but I haven't been for absolutely ages so at least I managed it, feel loads better for it too.
Not going on a diet as such, just going to be more careful and sensible and do more exercise - not just walking the dog. I'll start using MFP again too.
Off to Next to take a frock back this morning and then to pay the deposit for Xmas lunch - the frock is just not me and its £65 that I could do with not spending if I'm not completely in love with it. I've ordered 2 more from ASOS and will only keep them if they are gorgeous - a blue one and a black lacy number. We'll see...
Had a bit of a down day yesterday - just felt deflated and a bit fed up so the exercise is a good thing to snap me out of it - feel better already. But on the positive side I spent an hour going through the finances last night and have changed my line rental saving £120 a year and have investigated swapping energy providers. Also put a bit of money into savings - not much but a start again, haven't saved anything for ages and need to get back into the habit.
Saw Fling yesterday - he's still lovely and makes me feel really wanted and feminine - we're very happy - who'd have thought it a year ago! He's moving in a few weeks to be just down the road from me so we'll be able to see each other a lot more then (although I see him quite a bit now!).
Will finish off the course module I'm ploughing through today and then it will calm down a bit workwise - although I've just seen a job that may be worth applying for, would be a promotion and quite a bit more money, will think about it today.
Fabbing wise - need to get my eyebrows and toenails done today and maybe have a sneaky sunbed - always makes me feel better, think I have a touch of SAD? Will also pop into Holland and Barrett and have a look at supplements/vitamins. Still haven't managed to get to the shops but need to get some.
Right, I'm off for a shower and then to head out for an hour or two - hope everyone is having a good weekend

Evening everyone
Long time no "see". Felt pretty crappy for a while, black dog for first time has been nipping at my heels. Trying to get back onto a more even keel. Haven't abandoned the basic fabbing just haven't felt like posting much. Time to get back into swing of normal life. And what better way than to start some house fabbing just before Christmas
Thanks to a rather nasty D&V bug last week I got back into fasting. First no illness fast due tomorrow so will see how I get on.
Sorry haven't kept up with the thread, hope you're all OK and been keeping up with the fabbing.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Sorry have been awol - my lap top died!!!
Anyway I'm now back in cyberspace. I cannot believe how much I missed my computer - it really brought home to me how much we depend on technology. I couldn't do any banking, emails, any shopping.
Plus - my sons have had no hot water - and of course this bungalow has no central heating so you really have to plan to make sure you can get heat when you want it. I've felt like I've been living in the Middle Ages. At least I'm back online so that's something.
Anyway I will have a proper read and catch up in the next couple of days - I just wanted to say hello and give Bitsy a virtual hug. Sorry to hear about the Black Dog - hope you feel better soon.
G'night all X0 -
Well after weeks of feeling and looking rough I have taken myself firmly in hand and have started my makeover
Tonight I did some essential grooming, dyed my hair and covered myself from head to toe in moisturiser and before bed I will file my nails and put on nail oil as well as the full facial.
Tomorrow I am getting my hair cut (reasonably drastically) and then heading into town and treating myself to a couple of inexpensive tops that I have scoped out onlineI have looked out a nice outfit and my makeup is ready to be put on in the morning.
I may be the size of a small house at the moment and have a few extra chins courtesy of my baby to be however I need to feel a bit more glam and I am not going to feel that way without effort!
Also cutting out the junk food tomorrow as well as cutting down the caffeine. The healthy snacks are all in and ready to go :j I will be posting on here more to help keep me on trackTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Good afternoon all
Still not had time to read all your posts but promise to do so over the weekend. I do so like to hear all your news and gossip.
Well it's been manic here.
OH struggling a little so spending quite a lot of time with him. I have cancelled his broadband and phone because he can no longer use them so have moved out his computer and am in the process of re-organising his room, ready to get some Christmas decs for him. He is such a Christmassy person so I want to really go to town and make it very special for him. (It could well be his last Christmas so I intend to pull out all the stops).
Have been busy organising trades and workmen for DS1 - he has ruptured his achilles tendon and is currently hobbling around on crutches with his leg in plaster. Poor lamb is really struggling so I have also been spending a lot of time helping him out.
DS2 mortgage lender has finally got their act together so it's all systems go. This morning have been inspecting his proposed property with my builder to work out exactly what needs to be done and roughly how much. Thankfully not as bad as DS1's house.
Next week I will be busy organising and supervising plumbers, joiners and electricians at DS1's house - thank goodness I'm not living there:rotfl: Being in this bungalow is not ideal but at least it I'm not up to my neck in plaster and brick dust…..
So - as you can see - it's all action stations this end.
I have had to shop for clothes for my mum - the wretched nursing home lost most of her clothes, so we have taken over her laundry and have had to rig her out again.
I've even managed to get out and about . I too went to see Thor 2 - loved it. I agree with you Pod - that Chris Hemsworth is one gorgeous piece of eye candy;) I also went to see "The Butler" - again a really good film - a real good look at the civil rights movement.
One thing that I have enjoyed this week is all the Kennedy related programmes. I can hardly believe that is now 50 years since his assassination - that makes me feel sooooo old - to me it seems like yesterday.
They say you can always remember where you were when you heard about the deaths of Princess Diana, John Lennon and John Kennedy. When Kennedy died I was at the youth club!!!
I have also enjoyed the Dr Who stuff this week. How strange that the first Dr Who and the death of Kennedy occurred on the same day. Both in their own way were seminal events of the 20th century.
Anyway enough of the philosophy, I have a busy weekend to prepare for. Tonight I am off to a "Candle Party", hosted by a friend's daughter. Hopefully I might be able to pick up a few "giftettes" for little Christmas presents.
Joy of joys I now have two lovely girls - my sons' new girlfriends - to buy presents for.
Who knows what 2014 might bring. Can I hear the faint sound of future wedding bells and maybe even the patter of tiny little feet on the distant horizon.Wouldn't that be wonderful.
Anyway back to the present - it's nearly December. Are we ready to dazzle yet.
I'm still a bit of a dumpling but my hair, skin and wardrobe are in better shape than they have been for a long time. I'm eating better, my tummy is ok now, my sleep is improved and I'm feeling a lot stronger and healthier.
My leg, back and neck are still bothering me a bit but I am slowly getting there. I still need lots of regular physic - which doesn't come cheap unfortunately. Hey ho.
Have a great Fab Friday. Get those glad rags on. :rotfl:0
