Good to catch up with you all.:)

Sorry to hear the black dog is snapping at you bitsy, hopefully it'll go off and bother someone else very soon.

I've heard that the losing clothes thing is sadly common in nursing homes LL. My SIL had a very similar problem with her mum despite putting tags on everything and, like you, she took over the laundry in the end.

Great news about your boys and their homes and girlfriends (except the leg problem of course). A friend of mine put me on to 'Homes under the Hammer'. While I'm not (yet) decadent enough to watch it at 10 in the morning I record it and watch when there's carp on in the evening. I often think of you as they sometimes go to auctions in your neck of the woods.

You're being very wise to eat healthily rummer. The easiest way to deal with baby weight is to try to put on a minimum in the first place;) plus eating well has to be good for both of you. And :T on the other fabbing too.

I'm ashamed to say that this week I've been lazy when it comes to my after-shower fabbing. I've promised myself that, on Sunday, when I have more time I'll definitely do the full routine. Still keeping up with the smart dressing, hair and make up though.

Biggest challenge for the coming weeks (actually started already) is to eat super healthy between all the pre-Christmas festivities. My biggest downfall is definitely parties where there are loads of nibbles on offer. I'm OK at avoiding sweet stuff but I absolutely love things like crisps and spring rolls and samosas and......

    Back soon.

Well I got my hair cut and I am really pleased with it! Then I got two new tops and a new cardigan and treated myself to a tasty and healthy lunch. I may also have had a wee treat :o but overall it was a good day!

LL I don't know how you fit so much into every day.

The silly season is already underway and that bubbling undercurrent of busyness and panic that I haven't done anything is starting to build.

I buffed myself up yesterday for fab Friday and the first of the work Christmas lunch dos. Apart from the lunch yesterday I have had a fairly good go at dieting and recording all my meals on myfitnesspal over the past week and it seems I may have lost a pound. At this stage though it's a bit hit and miss as I learn what can reasonably eat in one day and how quickly one two things can push you right over. Recording stuff in this way is such an eye opener and I still get shocked at how many calories actually are in some of the things I like. :(

I have been out running three times for about twenty minutes each this week and been to yoga class as usual, so I don't know that I can do much more on the exercise front.

I'll be at the hairdressers too today for a touch up job, which will help make me feel more human. I have been trying all sorts of comb overs (not a good look) to try and hide my roots.

Well my efforts have been noticed :D Today I bumped into a friend and she exclaimed that I was looking fabulous, it meant all the more as she is not free with her compliments!

I have felt much better too, it is amazing what a haircut and a fresh perspective can do!

  • hi all,
Sorry to hear your not so good Bitsy -I know how awful it is - I still suffer but the periods of depression don't last as long as they did. I know though that it's stll lurking ready to snap at me. Hope you are getting help with it.

    You all sound really busy.
I'm rushed off my feet - I'm doing 2 courses - creative writng based- I'm finding the OU one much tougher than I thought. I'm decluttering the house and it's definitely coming on. I've had to start doing much more baking and cooking from scratch as money is so tight ( I'm not really a cook - more an eater):rotfl: We unfortunately had a death as DD2's remaining rat died last week. :( She held him as he died and was v upset but she seems to have taken it better than she did when the 1st one went. They are lovely but they don't live long enough and it's heartbreaking so am hoping she won't want any more. am just about keeping up with the fabbing - at least the weight's staying off.
H has another medical ths week - every 3 months we've been told it will be which is a worry. Need to get back to the blog but just don't have the time atm. No movement on the business front have been looking at courses to regarding that area but not seen anything suitable yet - will get onto n the new year. That's about it really.
H is still an A**ehole and the way things are going in this country I will probably be stuck - at least until we are forced to move -bedroom tax- or I make a go of something jobwise, still at lest I have a roof for now a couple of families have been evicted from our street over the last 6mths. Anyway enough waffling - f I don't manage to get on again before xmas have a good one everyone and I'll be back when I can. xx

    Some things never change!

Good to hear from you lizzie, was only wondering where you'd got to the other day. So pleased to hear you're still managing to keep going. You do sound positive though, much more so than the woman who first posted on here.:)

I'm down to my last Groupon beauty voucher: massage and my latest favourite of shellac nails. I can't believe how they stay looking so immaculate for so long. Will make the appointment today.

That's lovely - you are now officially Fab-u-lous.

Good to hear from you Lizzie - was wondering how you are. Keep going, I agree with Maman you sound so much more positive.

Kiwi - multi-tasking is the key!!! Although what I really need to do is learn how to delegate a bit more. I'm getting better but I do still have a few control freak tendencies. However, the boys are shaping up nicely…….DS2's cooking is much improved. :rotfl:

Speaking of my sons - DS1's little romance has ground to a halt.
Fortunately he has taken it well and is quite philosophical. As he said - on the plus side it gives him more time to work on the house, although he's struggling with his leg.

I've been doing a spot of decluttering again and have managed to get out and about a bit, lovely dinner last night with some girlfriends.

WW - I don't think I have ever suffered from actual SAD yet but my mum suffers quite badly, so I sometimes wonder if I could be at risk in the future. Up until OH's illness really took a hold we used to have a winter break and get some sunshine. I think this made a huge difference. Can you manage a little break, even just a mini break in the UK - perhaps a bit of sea air might help.

It's nearly the Solstice. The worst of the dark nights will soon be over, the days will start to lengthen a little.

Spring will be here before we know it.;)

    Hi all,

LL - glad to hear you're managing to get out and about, sorry to hear OH is struggling a bit though, hopefully all the christmassy-ness will perk him up a bit.

Bitsy - hope you're ok hun, have been there unfortunately and is a horrid feeling *hugs*

lizzie - sounds like it's all go at the moment! Do make sure you look after yourself with all the running round x Business has been quiet for me as well, not an 'xmas' time thing so usually a dead time of year.

WW - I do wonder sometimes whether I have a bit of SAD, have been feeling rather fed up and down the last month or so and would not be surprised if there was a connection to the darker nights and cold weather.

Anyway, been rather unmotivated lately so trying to make more of an effort this week. It's OH's birthday on Saturday, and feeling a bit bad because money-wise there's not exactly much for pressies :( Still, we shall try and do something no doubt! Just done a mini-facial and going to do my nails in a bit I think.
Hope everyone is having a good week x

    Hello Everyone

Hope you are all well and that any of you near our coastal regions are ok. Looks pretty grim for some.

Pod - if it's any consolation I've been very lethargic recently - a real struggle to get up and start the day.

My plan is to start getting some early nights - this time I mean it.:rotfl:

Still making the effort to get out and about a bit more. Nice meal with the book group on Monday, lunch with DS2 yesterday.

Made a start on the Christmas shopping at last. Put a Christmas tree up in OH's room today.

Up at the crack of dawn tomorrow for more Christmas shopping. I want it all done by the end of next week.

    Keep warm…...
