I think you have been more than pulling your weight. You are just being even more strict now and tightening the belt tighter.

So... Nightshift was really rough last night but the two auxillaries I was on with were fantastic. Earlier in the night they had been talking about those truffles made with condensed milk and drinking chocolate and digestive biscuits.
So today was a spend day (although I did downgrade to tescimos own digestives). Worked out at about £2.30 but worth it as they seemed really pleased when I dropped them off.
Hope you had a lovely day.

Ah how lovely of you! Definitely worth ruining a SFD to cheer up your colleagues and thank them
How is the diet going? My scales lied today and said I had put on 2lbs this week even though I've stuck to the diet and exercised loads. Think I will be buying some new ones on paydayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Diet isn't going so great. The downfall of making truffles is that you eat them. who knew eh.
I am back on with those auxillaries later in the month. The past couple of shifts have been amazing for my confidence. I now know that I can deal with a crisis and people at my work seem to like me.
Slightly more disappointing is that my old boss got confused about my increments. This should have been my tenth anniversary (according to my old boss) so I would have gotten extra holidays... however, my new boss has asked and they don't include bank shifts so I am only at 7 years.
I did have that moment of panic thinking they were going to steal a heap of money back from me but my boss assures me that shouldn't happen. Phew.
In kinda money related news... I am getting quite irrated with my SIL again. Her and my brother are pushing to get her put on the campervan insurance just in case there is no car available for her to drive. In truth, it is because my OH is on the insurance (we use the bongo for holidays and now pay the bills for it), they believe that she should be on it too. Now before people think that they have a point, allow me to explain...
... She has had two strokes in the past two years, she has recently had heart surgery and she has been told by the doctor that she is not safe to drive as she keeps having dizzy turns and is tired all the time. She makes my brother drive her everywhere as she is too nervous to drive...
... So why does she need to be on the insurance?? If she doesn't drive and has been told not to.
I have tried to work out prices but because of the complexity of the vehicle (japanese import and refurbished inside) and her current medical situation, no-one will give me a quote.
The joke of it is that when the campervan belonged to my parents, it lived in my brother's driveway. There were never any problems and they never went away in it. (SIL likes her home comforts). But now that me and OH have taken it over, they have told us we have to remove it from the driveway (increases insurance premiums as we don't have a drive, just a car park) and they have borrowed it four times to go "camping". (where they just drove it up to the holiday home and stayed there).
Anyways... enough ranting. Hope you are having a good day and that your scales aren't lying if you decide to weigh yourself this morning.
Hugs.
P.S: I wouldn't mind putting her on the insurance if she was going to drive it but if she won't drive her car and the doctor has advised against her driving then what is the point... it is just spending money for no reason.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Driving against a medical professionals advice is a BIG no no, of course you won't get insurance on that situation, & just tell her that "no insurers will quote as the doctor has advised you not to drive, its a no go". Don't fret
& if she insists, she can pay the increase IF she can get a quote from anywhere, there is no reason that you should be having to foot that cost.
Can you keep the van at your parents? Or is there a driveway or secure storage you could borrow locally or for a small monthly cost? A local car club might have a storage barn or know of one? Surely if its not being kept at theirs then the whole her wanting on the insurance issue will go away?
(I know how you feel as im a bit stuffed for car space at my house & could really do with better storage for mine, I'm seriously considering asking the neighbour if I can borrow their garage that they never ever use so I could trickle charge the battery)- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

My parents live just a couple of doors away from me... neither of us have driveways.
I just can't figure out a reason for wanting to go on the insurance other than "because my OH is". But the thing is, when we go away, OH drives most of the time (I am chief map reader/sat nav follower) so he is on the insurance for that.
SIL never drove it before, never used it as camper, just as another car and now she isn't supposed to drive at all (it's not a most definite do not drive, just an advisement).
I just can't figure out what to do.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Ah ok, might be worth a look about for a local driveway or shared storage to rent then? I know my local vdub club know of storage places for their various summer rides and projects.
You've tried sweetie, you can't get a quote as no one will cover her. You can not do more than that & personally I think you have gone far beyond the call of duty already, don't worry!
I've been there with insurance for imports & if she could be covered an import friendly insurer would. **hugs**
Right its saturday night i've been doing far too much lazing about today I think I might have to watch saturday night tv while doing some time on the cross trainer as penance.- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Thanks for the replies trix-a-belle. I am not quite sure what we are doing about the insurance now... have done my usual thing and turned into a kid who can't deal with anything and asked my dad for help.
Away to go and do some baking (bought some bits the other day). OH is away to go and play his computer upstairs.
Money wise... today has been a pyjama day so spend-free day... number 11 I think which gives me 13 days to get another 9.
Budgets are looking kinda okay I guess. Half a tank of fuel and the freezer is full... milk is getting a bit empty though.
:undecided
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening.

Hope you get the insurance sorted! Surely if your brother is on it then that's enough?

Apparently she has not been told she can't drive by the doctors. (I am figuring she told me that to get extra sympathy) however, my brother has told my parents that she can drive she just doesn't want to. This could have saved me some worrying.
Anyways, spoke to my dad and suggested putting her on to my car's insurance as it won't be so expensive (not a modified japanese import for a start). So we have done that instead... Possibly a blessing in disguise as I have now realised my insurance is due on 28th Feb.
I am already shopping around for a better deal. d1r3ct L1n3 are charging me almost £400 for my car which is ridiculous for my car (1.4L petrol astra).
Today I have used my credit card on two things (one was a necessity, the other was kind of a luxury).
However, we saved £100 on our home insurance (bye bye d1r3ct L1n3, hello tescimos) and we also paid our subscription to the campervan forum (£16 for the year). It's a really good forum with a lot of people who know their stuff so if our campervan breaks or we are planning a trip, they can give us lots of advice.
Decided to be lazy and didn't do any baking, however I also weighed myself today instead of tomorrow as I am on nightshift tonight and that means tomorrow, I will have be heavier in the morning (cause you eat overnight, it's like weighing yourself in the evening if you eat during the day).
Total lost so far 4lbs!!
