The hotdogs in Costco are really nice, and I didn't mind having one because I didn't think it was too bad for my diet, but last time I went I was asked if I wanted cheese in it. Now I have had one with cheese it will be hard to have one without. :-(
I like cheese, thats the main thing I miss with the skimming world.DFBX2016 #024

I have never been offered cheese with my hotdog, just onions. Although that's probably a good thing.
So... today has been quite productive. I went to morries with my mum and she bought me a tenners worth of food. (I bought her toilet rolls yesterday at co$tco so she owed me that).
We then went to my bank and there was an amazing occurence!! I have savings!!
:j
Every month, £60 goes into an account that I don't have a card for. There was £260 in it when I checked!!
I have been a bit naughty and taken out the £60 as I owed my mum £30 and I wanted some for going out with my mum, auntie and cousin tomorrow. I know that it is wrong but I really enjoy going for a meal with my family and then shopping with my cousin and it is money I didn't know I had. That's no excuse I know.
:embarasse
Anyways... I have kept the £200 intact and it will be my emergency fund. So, I am kinda learning I guess.
I took out £132 from my budget account (my £400 one) and have put that into my savings pots.
We have two on the go just now... one which is £1 a day (I have added in my £31 for the month of January, OH is going to put his in tomorrow).
Our second pot is more challenging... it is the weekly challenge so as we can't afford £202 each so we are splitting it between us and paying £101 each.
The £1 a day pot is going for xmas... I think the plan is to use some of the money to pay for OH's parents and granda to come up for a visit. The rest will be on pressies.
The weekly pot will be going on a holiday next year. I am hoping we can save some of it for home improvements in the future.
Hope everyone has had a great day. I am very much looking forward to tomorrow. Can't wait to get thse bloody strips off, they are so annoying.

Looks like a good plan to me, and you are improving - you only took out the money you knew you owed your Mum and to cover a planned spend.
I've sometimes saved x amount per month then when it's got over a certain amount I've taken out enough to round it down to the nearest £50 as a treat. I think last time it was saving £45 a month to cover car costs but every 6 months I'd round it down and treat myself - meant I still had a balance between saving and spending and I thought about what I'd spend it on before I spent it.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Well today was a disaster!! I didn't spend anything in new l00k!!
I honestly am in a bit of shock. I picked up a couple of things but thought about it rationally and put the stuff back. I don't think I have ever left new l00k without spending money. I feel broken, but in a good way. If that makes sense.
Today I used the slow cooker for the first ever time. We have made BBQ chicken using chicken breasts (that mum bought me yesterday) and some bbq sauce with a wee bit of water added. It looks lovely... fingers crossed it tastes lovely.
It was still a spend day as I required petrol (£40) and then spend roughly £7 on shopping. £4 on 16 bars of soap (imperial leather for OH. thought it was a great deal) and £3 on two bags of frozen peppers and a bag of frozen peas. All necessities as they stop OH from buying fresh.
Hope you have all had a lovely day.
Hugs.

Congratulations on your New L00k achievement
Did you have your strips off today? Are you allergic?
Jealous of your chicken and BBQ sauce! I've had a sausage and various vegetables, tasty but I'm craving more carbs. Fingers crossed, I'm going to attempt a weigh in on Friday, but it's still the lying scales, so I won't know if it's true.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hiya fmess.
They did take the strips off today. We attempted to wash my hair today as I wasn't allowed to get my back wet... my mum helped as I have a massive fear of water going on my face so I had to tip my head backwards over the bath whilst she did my hair for me.
:embarasse
Anyway, they removed the strips and it looks like I have some allergies but they are waiting until Friday to know for sure. (They remove the strips then reassess after 48 hours to see what else develops). Still not allowed to have a shower or get my back wet which sucks as I am still quite itchy.
:undecided
Good luck with your weigh-in on Friday fmess. I am sure you will do brilliantly despite the lying scales.
Is anyone else getting itchy feet thanks to NSK's thread?? I would never go properly travelling due to all the injections (fear of needles as well) but I would love to go touring america.
I think our honeymoon plan is to do this... that's quite some time away though and I am getting itchy feet now.
Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

The NL thing is all good Stewby, it shows you're really thinking about your spending and you're not spending unnecessarily, so well done!
As for the diet ... there's always tomorrow. I haven't dared weigh myself this week, I've got hospital on Friday so I'll use their scales to check if mine are accurate and to give me the bare faced truth about whether I should have eaten the last of the Christmas fudge last night
I did fine myself £1 for it (but 60p of that was dressing-table kill I nicked off OH) :rotfl:
Anyhoo, better luck to both of us tomorrow! Get you with the ipad by the way, hope you're having fun with it!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Feeling quite miserable tonight.
I sometimes get really quite paranoid and tonight is one of those nights. Have moved down to the sofa as I haven't been able to sleep.
I can never understand why one thing happening can have such a profound effect on a person. It's strange.
Anyways, dayshift tomorrow so really need to force myself to sleep.

Wow... what a depressing last post.
The thing that caused it is still playing on my mind but meh... will focus on other stuff for the time being.
Spend-free day today.
:j
Having great fun focussing on the future. Decided that I should plan what we are going to do after the debt it gone and decided that it is going to be saving for our honeymoon. (I blame NSK's travelling plans).
Our plan is to have an affordable wedding and then spend all our money on a three-week tour of america. Maybe even a month if we can get the time off at work.
I am hoping to pay a bit more off my credit card this month. I normally pay £200 a month but with OH contributing £200 to the household, I planned to pay £400 a month... however, I have extra money in my big account this month so I might manage to put £500 towards the card!!
:j
Hope everyone else is doing great. Have a wonderful evening.

hey stewby
Hope you are feeling a little brighter and have put the nasty thoughts to the back of your mind. I am the same, a little thing can ruin my mood completely. I can be having a great day and one thing goes wrong, and the day/week/month is ruined.
Congratulations on planning to pay more off your credit card. I can't wait to get mine gone as its only 0% until June, it has to go by then. I love the idea that you are planning your honeymoon already, how many weeks until you go to Paris?
Any news on the allergy tests? I must be so annoying not being able to have a shower
I did my weigh in this morning and the scales say I have lost 7lbs in 2 weeks, but I don't know if they are lying :rotfl:
