I think it is something you learn, my Mum certainly had to when she left my Dad, and even after the divorce her lump sum was invested in to the company which owns the house and apartment and long term investments rather than just being spent like she fully admits she would have done previously.
I just hope when I've got this debt paid off that the next long debt I have will be a mortgage and am able to follow Mum's example and learn to budget better! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Isn't it surprising how we are classed as fully grown adults and yet we still look to our parents for guidance and to teach us.
I am not actually ashamed to admit that.

I am quite glad that other people think the same though.
Today was a breakthrough in money saving logic. OH was taking his dad round the city and I was going to go with.
But then my brain kicked in. Let them have a lads day out, I get to declutter my bedroom (sort out clothes), procastinate by watching some buffy the vampire slayer and... not spend money that I don't have.
See, even I can be taught!!!!!!
:rotfl:
However, I can't give up the TV.
