Well I did manage to get some listings done yesterday, about 10 for me I think and around 30 for DH. So fingers crossed for some sales.

Unfortunately, the engine light on my car is back on again :( The garage did suggest that this might be a different issue to the fault that I need fixing, so I'm going to ignore it unless the car starts driving badly again.

I'm guessing it's the end of the road for my car though, I can't keep forking out for it. Not that I can afford a new one though either. Unfortunately I have to provide a car for work so I do need to have one. It's in my contract.

I've heard rumours that it's free listing this weekend, so might try to get some more on, but we are out tomorrow so not sure how much time I'll have.

Payday today so the main bills have been paid. I'm not sure exactly where I stand for the month, but will carry on and aim for the £500 that I am trying to raise.

  • Sorry the car is playing up sending lots of car healing vibes, cars are not cheap these days, does work not offer a leasing scheme ?

Sorry about your car and good luck the some sales!
    I've just listed 14 items :j
And still got loads to do...but it won't be today
It takes so long, hunting it out, taking pic, editing pic and then doing the listings. I photographed yesterday (took about half an hour)and edited and listed today. (Took about 3 1/2 hours)!

They do but it's only if you do over a certain number of miles for them which I don't do.

    Hey everyone.

    What a rubbish weekend.

Saturday the car wouldn't start  so I am now another £60 lighter on a new battery. We also met some friends for lunch which cost about twice as much as I had planned.

Then 4am Sunday I woke up very ill and was ill all day yesterday. Still feel rubbish today so haven't achieved anything this weekend.

I decided on Saturday (in a rage) that I wasn't spending any more on the car and we were getting rid of it, but we went around looking at what's about and I have decided again, that I will try and keep this one running for a while longer. Even if I have to spend another few hundred, it's going to be cheaper than a new one.

I did have some sales yesterday, along with 2 numpties. One thought my item was something else, despite it clearly saying in the title and photo what it was  and the other decided that postage was too high (they are from Russia and had only just joined) despite it being shown in the listing (£7 so not stupidly high). I cancelled the first one as they contacted me before the end, but the second one I'm going to do a NPB on as soon as I can.

I haven't done any packing yet, so not sure exactly what I've made.

I did do some relists yesterday, and got a couple of bits on for DH.

Dropped little man to nursery this morning and got handed a letter with the price rises from april *sigh*. I gathered it would be coming, but it's still never ending.

    Hope everyone is well.

  • Ah jwill im sorry your having such a run with things. Makes sense about the car yes its cheaper to spend a little on it and then look at getting one a little later. Why not ask work if there is something they can do re the lease scheme say your cars on the way out and you cant really afford a decent one asap can the bend the rules a little ? its worth a shot xx
Nursery fees going up ouch, that will be my world soon lol x

  • Hi all,

Hi tattycath - thanks - car goes in tomorrow and i really cannot afford an expensive bill :(

Well done on your listings :T I found it very slow going yesterday too.

Jwil ((hugs)) - i absolutely know that feeling about getting rid of the car although i would essentialy be car-less as i have no money for one and i am tired of keep spending on them - its in tomorrow and already have that feeling in the pit of my stomach :(

So sorry you were poorly too hope you are better now.

I got a few new bits listed and had a couple of bits sold - low value. and have a NPB and a INR to deal with, tis frustrating. Just been going through my p60's - and crikey my income has dropped by a quarter of what it was since i started this job :( I should just use this to motivate me more to get some money in from somewhere ! Checked for jobs to apply for - none.

I am getting on with the decluttering though and that is helping as the space just feels so much better - hopefully the sales will help you with decluttering too jwil x

Thanks happy :) Unfortunately there's no way around it with the lease scheme. I wouldn't want to do it really anyway as my job's not secure and I wouldn't want to be in a position to have to pay something back if I got made redundant :(

To be fair, nursery's the only real expense for little man. They say babies are expensive but they don't have to be and I've certainly found that you really don't need most of the stuff they say you need. We didn't buy a lot before he came and I'm glad we didn't as we didn't need any of it.

Well done on your listings! Glad the decluttering is making you feel better :)

How did you get on with your car?

    Hey everyone.

I'm finally starting to feel a bit better now. I haven't really achieved a lot this week, nothing new listed, but I did have a few unexpected sales so that was good.

    I think that means I've got around £60 towards Feb's target :T

I had the audition yesterday, it went fab! My friend and I won the game we played :T

I don't know if we'll get on but it was great fun anyway :)

It was quite sobering seeing all the flooding on the levels going up on the train yesterday. It's not far from me, and I know the area well, but the scale of it that was underwater was crazy.

Plans for this weekend: try and get some listing done and try and sort out a bit more around the house.

    Hope everyone is well :)
