Hello stranger,
Long time no see, apart from FB! I was away from this site, having a tiny person means no time for anything really.
Hope all is well, will try to pop in sometimes.
Lovely to see you KavicsI know what you mean about the lack of time. Baby kavics is absolutely adorable, I love seeing the pics on fb.
Hope all is well with you too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hey everyone, thankfully it's friday :T
Baby jwil has kindly shared his first cold with me, and I feel rough as well as having been kept up half the night. How he can be so chirpy on no sleep I have no idea.
Well I did manage to get about 10 listings done yesterday. Only for 99p items again. DDFW - I think you asked - I think 99p items are still ok as long as they are light postage. I won't list them if they are more than a small parcel. Mine are mainly large letter though so not so bad.
Both me and little jwil had doctors appointments yesterday so didn't get much done in the afternoon. little jwil is being referred to the hospitalHopefully it's nothing. The doctor (a new one) seemed to be worse than useless and didn't even seem to check him out properly like the previous one did, so I was really annoyed. I'm contemplating switching doctors already, though I will give this one another chance.
I've sold a couple of books today, so that's good. I've got a load of non payers again  I think DDFW you said you had a load too recently. It's definitely getting worse!
Surveys done for today, though might have another go later. I redeemed 2 x £15 amazon vouchers recently which has paid for 2 birthday presents, and some groceries, so that's all good.
I'v started using my amazon vouchers for some household stuff as well, as I don't really need anything. It's been helping to balance the books, but eventually, I want to send the equivalent amount in cash to the debt. Some things are cheaper, some the same and some more expensive. I don't buy more expensive items, unless it's only a few pence dearer, in which case the convenience outweighs the little extra.
We'll probably be booting on Sunday if the weather is good. We haven't been for a few weeks now, so have missed it. We need to sell, but that's unlikely to be this weekend, so will have to plan to do that. Will probably try and get a bit more on ebay or at least some more sorted to go on.
Have a good one everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hey jwil - i should have also said that the POAMYC challenge that you did was also a huge motivator for me too
Thanks for the 99p info. jwil - i really wasn't sure on it x
I hope you and the little one feel better soon and also hope you find a doc you are happy with and that all goes ok with baby jwils appointment xx It took me a long time to realise that i should note the name of the doc i like seeing and then request an appointment with them as it is such a hassle for me going anyway and its just easier if i am comfortable ad confident in the doc. I have noticed last couple of times i've been to see the nurse people who work there just knock as they are walking in  In future i'll just be asking to see the doc
Well done on the sales :T and Grr! to the NPBs  yes i have had lots of them - even people with a fair bit of history on there - why ?
I am fully up to date on my surveys too - because i am not getting any  :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks DDFW
Worst night ever last night. Little man was up crying for ages last night, and when he did sleep, I couldn't. I was feeling rubbish anyway, so really could have done with the sleep. I feel like a zombie today.
I didn't spot that it was free listing this weekend, so shall try and get some on, but not sure how much I'll manage.
I've got a few things going out, so will relist anything that doesn't sell anyway.
Just having a lazy day today really.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well - hope docs find nothing serious with baby jwil.
I got an email this morning about ebay free listing - but got a busy weekend on so not sure if I will get anything on.
its wet and dark and murky here - hopefully tomorrow is a better day.0 -
Well so much for posting more regularly when back at work!
I've had a terrible cold though as has little man, and we've been very rough. Wed night was awful for sleep, which meant that I didn't get much on yesterday for the free listing. I did do a few bits for DH though.
Ebay is being very annoying at the moment, what with all the non payers, and DH has had a couple of cases opened. I spent half the weekend and afternoon on the phone to ebay trying to get them sorted and it was a nightmare. It's all sorted now though. DH has another INR imminent as I told someone to open a case in a few days if the item hadn't arrived, and a not as described case because something had fallen off the item and I hadn't realised. I've posted the bit out, but the buyers message was very snotty so not sure how that one will go.
Dealing with all that means that I've had neither the energy or the inclination to put anything on my own account, so I'm failing miserably with the challenge.
I'm thinking I'll try and have a relaxing weekend with not doing too much, to hopefully finally shift this cold (and maybe get some sleep!) and then maybe I'll have a bit more verve next week.
I have had a few sales this week though otherwise, so a few bits of cash have come in, and I've received another £14 in amazon vouchers this week, (used for a present and nappies!) and have just redeemed for another £5 one.
I got a book to review, which I've read and really enjoyed so that was a nice treat. Must get the review done this weekend.
My car is back to the garage AGAIN on tuesday, so that will be another £120 ish billI'm hoping this will solve the issue, but I'm not convinced.
I hope everyone is well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
How annoying with non paying ebayers and your car costing !
You need to rest and get better though for both you and baby Jwil otherwise you will run yourself down completely. x0 -
Hi jwil, Lam and everyone
((hugs)) jwil - i feel for you being ill and the lack of sleep too x And  to the car problems and bay of e issues as well. It is also draining having to deal with these issues - it is the weekend now so hopefully a good rest for you and little jwil too and hope you both are feeling a lot better.
You aren't failing with the challenge - anything we can do is better than nothing and puts us in a better money position x
And i am glad to see you posting and even you just get to pop in once a week and let us know how you are doing then that is good as i really like hearing from you
I've just realised that when i was tackling my debt i did it all higgledy piggledy - i didn't target the highest rate card first - i targeted i think the lowest balance - for the relief of clearing 1 debtI then tackled the rest based on different things so maybe 2nd highest as the highest bill was just too daunting for me
I think my debt was different as i didn't have a loan with a definite end date too. I was wondering if you have a target bill that you are working on / ideally want to work on ? I remember feeling that i couldn't see my situation ever changing that i was doing all i could to meet minimums but spending on the cards i could as well in order to buy food / pay house bills. But it did change and i think just focusing on that first smaller bill helped - even though it wasn't tiny it also wasn't the £10,000 of my highest one
I wish i lived closer then i could pop round and help you list stuff / babysit
so you could rest etc.
For our bay of e target i think i've done 64/100 new listings so have 36 items to find and write up before next friday  Most have been low value things circa £2.
i was going to mention something else too but i can't remember what now... yep thats it. The other week i also realised that you have managed to have some house jobs done that needed to be done. I haven't even though i really wanted to (definitely needed jobs) but couldn't afford to - i think that is something else to think about just how much you have achieved with the jobs like that that you have done which is an investment really x
