Bummer that you have ended up in your overdraft, but its an expensive time of year. Do you have an agreed overdraft? If so I guess thats better than ending up going over unauthorised.
Hope you get the last few bits and peices of shopping and then you can say your done!

Hi Mrs S
Yes it is an agreed OD and no charges for using the first £300. Unfortunately we used more than £300 this month but as you say it is an expensive month.0 -
Been MIA again.
Had my works night out last night and I am suffering today, so very little will be done.
Was paid the other day and as I though almost all went on the OD but in good news DH is getting and extra £600 this month in his Salary so that evens us out a bit.
Have been spending but Xmas shopping is done all I need to do is wrap everything.
Spent a small fortune (£110) in M&S for food over Xmas period. It is something we do every year and is totally indulgent but so so nice. Just got to be good and not nip into it till Xmas eve. We are at family for Xmas dinner we don't need to share our goodies with anyone :rotfl:
House is a tip (as usual) so need to get moving and sort it.
Dinner is cottage pie and veg (made yesterday) and plenty of water to flush out all the alcohol I drank yesterday0 -
Today is a NSD :j
All Xmas presents are wrapped :j
House is still a tip
Dinner is a mixture from the freezer so some spag bol and some beef. Kids want the spag bol and DH and I will have the beef.
Was watching what I ate yesterday and today and I am not feeling as bloated as what I was. I really need to loose a bit of what but this coming week is not the time to start :rotfl:
Need to do a few washings and get sorted for work tomorrow. Was due to work a Tue/Wed this week but work are closed so had the choose to take 2 days holidays or work Monday and take 1 day holiday. Decided on that as I need to use 2 days holiday for the week of new year as again I am meant to be working but we are closed. Still gives me a good time off over Xmas.0 -
Your christmas sounds awesome and so organised. I have even started wrapping. Well I lie, I've wrapped one friend's presents but that was while she was downstairs waiting to give me my presents. lol.0

Hope you had a great Christmas and you got all your wrapping done in time.0 -
Well that's Christmas over with for another year. Everyone in the house did well and we were all spoiled.
Today is our 3rd NSD but tomorrow we need to brave the shopping center near us but the kids will be spending their Xmas vouchers and cash and I will be spending very little. Need to get DS his birthday cake for Monday and bits for his party. Dear friends mother has been in hospital and it isn't looking good so sending them both flowers which will cost £50 in total. They both adore flowers so this will be appreciated by both. I can't visit as they are too far away so need to arrange delivery.
We have eaten our body weight in food over the last few days (as have most folk I imagine lo.) Won't need to buy anymore food for a while so that's positive.
Need to do online banking today as have a few bills to pay but the rest of today will be spent making room for the kids new toys0 -
Braved the shops today glad we went early as the queue of cars waiting to get in when we left was
Did my online banking yesterday and paid £100 off 2 credit cards (£50 each).
Ordered 2 bouquets of flowers for my friend and her mother so another £50 spent.
2 Cakes bought for DS £14.99 on the one for his party and £8 on the one for the family.
Spent £1.80 in M&S as they had there roast potatoes in duck fat reduced so bought 2 packets to put in the freezer.
I had vouchers so bought my new diary for the new year and the kids spent some of their vouchers on bits an bobs.
I am absolutely done in now but we are away to friends for an early dinner so need to make myself presentable (when I really just want to curl up and sleep)0 -
Had a long lie in today, everyone did so I think we all must have needed it.
Today should be a NSD. Tomorrow is DS birthday so will be a big spend day. I am expecting his party to be around the £160 plus a take away for dinner so around another £20 for that.
Yesterday and today we have spent clearing the house. Lots of clothes went out as they were tatty or didn't fit anymore. Old toys went out to make way for new ones. I need to take a few pairs of shoes to the cobblers as the heel is going.
I have hovered round the house, done the dishes, put a few washings on and opened all the windows to give the house a good airing.
Will need to get to the shops tomorrow for milk, bread and some fruit. Dinner on New Years day is at the inlaws so need to work on a meal plan from the 2nd Jan onwards.0 -
Just putting details into my new diary and working out Jan's budget. Once all bills paid we only have £316 to last till 20th Jan
Out of this we need to pay for food, petrol and bus fare into work.
Thankfully I have M&S vouchers left over from xmas so can use this for food if need be but would rather not.
I had wanted 3 pairs of shoes re-heeled so might only get 1 done this month.
Going to do a inventory of all the food and see how many meals I can make with what we have.0 -
Hey Nympth,
I know January is a tight month for most people so don't feel too down about it. The thing is you're doing great. You may be squeaking through the month but you're not giving up completely and relying on credit to get all of the shiny things. Even if you do have to dip into savings or get some credit, you're minimising the cost to yourself by sticking to your plans.
I have some heels I want to resole, but haven't done this before. How much does it typically cost you? Do they have to be a particular type of shoe and can the shoes be slightly damaged in your experience?
Also I think you can get cash back on a lot of the big take away chains for the birthday treat.0
