Been busy again and not had time to pop on.
Just been doing some banking, account at nil but CB will be in on Monday.
DH has done 16hrs OT but I think only 12 will be through in March pay. He is also due a bonus (not massive but a few hundred).
The cupboards and fridge/freezer are bursting with food which is a good thing since I have spent all our food budget.
Pay day for me not for another 11 days and 14 days for DH. This month has gone in fast before I know it it will be October.0 -

I have been neglecting my diary this last week or so.
I am feeling a bit run down, I have a painful mouth ulcer, my face has broken out in painful spots and I am exhausted so feeling very sorry myself.
Today I am doing nothing. I am in bed with the tablet and hot water bottle watching tv.
I can't even get excited about being paid yesterday.
Anyway enough of my woes, this coming month is going to be a spend month.
3 birthdays
DS going on a camp weekend
DD needing clothes (has taken a growth spurt)
Printer is on it's way out
Will aim to do the above as cheaply as possible of course but it's an expense I could do without.
I have let things slide on the money front as just been feeling awful, but really need to get back on track.0 -
After I posted I fell asleep till after 12  just as well my kids can look after themselves.
Mouth is even sorer as I bit my gum hard while eating so still feeling sorry for myself.
Dinner was a mix of stuff from the freezer but was quick as it was all batch cooked meals that just needed defrosted and warmed up.
I have put a load in the TD and another in the WM but that's as much as I CBA doing.
Sitting down to watch the Chanel 4 program on food prices tonight as someone had said it was interesting (boy do I know how to spend a Saturday night :rotfl:)0 -
What a difference a day makes.
Mouth ulcer is gone and only one spot left on my face and it's no longer sore :j
Got up at 8am and have hung out a washing, stripped the beds and got them in the WM.
Taking the kids out shopping as loads of stuff to get for the up coming birthdays and DS trip in a few weeks. We got his list yesterday and he needs loads of thingsso will be a spend day.
Dinner will be chicken that I remembered to take out the freeze.0 -
So glad you're feeling better now
i've managed to shake the energy-draining bug that I had (not much wrong with me aside from the fact i was super tired and had no energy!) and i've got a spendy day today too as we need food shopping. I hate doing this with the kids but i've nothing in for dinner so can't be avoided really (booooooo) last weekend I took them and ended up nearly leaving the trolley mid-shop as they were driving me mad!
Anyway you've just reminded me I need to hang my washing out so have a good dayMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34

Glad you managed to shake your bug, nothing worse than having no energy.
I avoid taking my kids food shopping but as you say sometimes you just can't avoid it.0 -
Back from the shops and wasn't has bad as I feared. I had forgotten I had a gift card with £37 on it so used that.
Other spends were £45 for clothes for DS
£8 on lunch
£11.50 on some fruit and lunch items from M&S
£8 in FF
Came home and took in the washing that was hanging out and all but 2 items are folded and put away. I went to put my second washing out but after 30mins a massive hail storm came on so it's now in the TD.
I have bleached the kitchen and cleaned the living room.
Not doing anything else now as I am feeling rather achy now and am flagging energy wise.
Only thing to do is have a nice hot bath before bed and look my work clothes out.0 -
Well what a week, we have been a poorly household. Kids and me off school/work with some bug.
DD back at school and I am feeling more human today but DS is still under the weather.
As a result I have taken my eye off the ball, spend too much on rubbish and most of my wages are gone  so no savings on my salary this month.
DH did get paid and extra £800 or so but due to tax and NI this was reduced to about £500 odd.
I know I shouldn't moan and I knew this month would be a spendy month but I didn't think I would have spent all of my salary. Going to sit later and have a good look at everything.
Anyway onwards and upwards. Have a washing out bowing away, it's a grey day but dry.
DH is away to do the shopping for me so going to work on a meal plan as have had too many takeaways and ready meals this week.
Going to really try and keep the heating off this month, it has been warmer but with us all being ill I have had it on almost 24/7 this week and it's cost us.
Going to make a big pot of HM Veg soup and going to have chicken with potatoes and a ton of veg for dinner tonight.
House is a tip so need to make a start on that.0 -
Well the scores on the door this month....... £780.57.
I know that's a good amount but a little disappointed given all the OT and bonus DH got but between the over spends and MR tax man taking a chunk of it, it could have been better.
There is another £225 that could be moved over but the kids are off soon for Easter and I can see us needing this for spends.
DH, DD and DS went to the golden arches for a free breakfast using the instant wins for our takeaways last week.
Off out to get mother day gifts soon then home to relax in front of the tv.0
