The instructions that you need are in post #4, the software in post #17.
That is all that you need.
The one thing the instructions fail to tell you is that you need to install the Desktop Manager and the Vodafone BB software to the computer before beginning.
Though those steps may be indicated in the video(I haven't watched it)
I have tried, but cannot get on with it. When I get back, I will have to attempt with the BBSAK, but the disclaimer that one needs to be comfortable with it, or you will end up with a paper weight, worries me a bit.0 -

Tried in which way?
You need to state exactly where you are succeeding and where you are failing.
Since the guide has steps, you should be able to describe where you are going wrong.0 -
Well, I go to the App Loader, plug the BB and the pin with my code appears. I click ok, and the BB then starts to load, but it never goes beyond a similar point as this one I found online: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181217701875?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I wait and wait, but to no avail. The sad thing is, only now I have learned how easy it is to back up your BB0 -
I am currently in Italy on holidays. How much is the repair likely to cost?
Hi stefano,
Without having the phone checked I'm afraid I couldn't say if there would be a charge or not for carrying out a repair.
However, before any work is done you'd be notified of any charge involved and the repair would only take place once you'd accepted it.
Thanks,
Lee

The guide has very clear steps. It sounds as if you have just skipped over them. Did you click Next at the USB-PIN:UNKNOWN stage?0 -

It would not let me click next at the USB-PIN:UNKNOWN stage. Once I entered the pin, the PIN was known, and nothing else happened.0 -

Straight after opening the AppLoader. But I do not get the USB-PIN:UNKNOWN, it shows my PIN

With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector and as SOON as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN hit Next
Take the battery out before you plug it in. Then as SOON as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN hit Next. Then you can put the battery back in and continue.0 -
