My Blackberry just died

This morning, out of the blue, my BB Curve 8520, has stopped working, following a Facebook app update. When asked to reboot, I did as usual, but it won't reboot, and the reboot line is stopped at 2/3 of the way.
Why does this happen, and has it happened to anyone else?
Is there a cure?

have you tried a battery pull and see if it fixes it ?

if its simply not booting up, its likly the os might be corrupt.
You can fix it by wipeing the phone and uploading a new OS.

if you havn't backed it up, then you will lose everything on the phone doing this

It happens because of sloppy software or a corrupted download.

If a restart fails to fix it, a dealer will need to reflash the OS with the latest version which you'll have to pay for.

It's locked on Vodafone

you would want a BlackBerry 5 OS (the minor version doesn't matter too much)

The details on the crackberry forum are not getting me very far, so far the reboot line is still at 2/3, and the device is not connecting

if its not letting you connect, then you may need to completly wipe it first
