Hi Puzz, it's always great to read your updates:T
Sorry to be dim but I can't recall when/why you decided to go self-managed especially as you've always seemed so content with SC:o
I started my DMP just before you did (first payment in April 2013) when my total debt was £56804:eek:. I'm with SC too. Mine is due to end in Set 2019, I'll be halfway through in a few months:j. I can't see me paying it off sooner as I've made life difficult enough as it is with my current level of payments.
I'm not sure I'd have the courage to go self-managed, I like the security of just paying over one amount to SC and letting them get on with it. What would be the advantages please?
Sorry if this is making you go over old ground but it would really help:T0 -
Morning...
Hi January and CBC thanks for coming by..!
CBC I don't have any issues with SC, I think they do a fantastic job and hadn't really considered going self managed until recently when I copied January into CCA'ing my BC debt which may be unenforceable.. I believe SC don't like you not paying unenforceable debts and hadn't realised that PRAT group would put a hold on the account so not sure what is going to happen to this months payment as it will go through SC. Sorry I am waffling.. what I then decided is I have got too complacent with my debts and it is time for me to take back the reins and deal with them myself..
Advantages for me, I may be able to overpay sometimes so maybe get to the end quicker! Although I do budget and save I know I still waste money so if I see something for £5 that is a want not a need I am hoping by controlling my own debts again I will think, NO.. that can go to *** this month...
I have also copied January and opened a separate bank account so I can transfer my usual sc payment to it and then do standing orders to each creditor...
I will keep you posted on how it all works out..!!

:j Yes its Friday again.. now we do
a Friday...
So today I have received a letter back from the PRAT group following my CCA request..
It says... We enclose documentation received to date and are awaiting further documentation to complete your request. and confirms I will receive no further contact from PRATs until the info has been supplied to me... They basically sent a copy statement dated 1st July 2015 and that's my lot...! So who knows where this one is going to go...
I am definitely going self managed and got all excited yesterday when I received a statement for my old loan.. was £15k when I took it out and its now just over £2k... this may be one I target to get rid of.. just because being self managed I will be able to.. assuming I have a few spare pennies.. I'm not bothered at this stage about token payments and f & f's but may get more into that as I go along..
Gosh I waffle...
Money News..
Got paid..:j and that's about that...!!
Weekend Plans.. possibly a drink a neighbour tonight and other than that home with dd... lovely...
Right off to make a cuppa.. have a good weekend...

Happy Sunday Morning...
So.. a very busy day of domestic goddess duties yesterday, I was absolutely shattered by 5pm...
Today a little more of the same, also a quick trip to town planned to return a pair of boots I bought in the sales, last day for refund today and I haven't worn them so will get the money to spend on something else...
Tomorrow..
The start of Fit and Fabulous February....:j
So treadmill and trainers dusted off and sensible eating/drinking planned.. let's get this weight off and be more toned before the sun makes an appearance again..!!! Am determined as I don't feel very good about myself at the moment and know I feel better when I look better!!! Once the lighter evenings are back I will be heading back out with my friend walking the streets...
Divided up my spare £'s thanks to no water or c.tax this month and split it between dd's 18th, NY dd's 21st and Mum trip...
Going to print off my letter to SC and get that posted and then I need to spend some time on NEDCAB doing my budget etc and sort letters for creditors... I may take a flexi day off at the end of the week to work on this... or maybe Monday the week after we shall see..
Right off to make a cuppa, once I have tipped next doors cat off my lap....!
Enjoy this day of rest...:rotfl:

Happy Monday and welcome to Fit and Fabulous February... easy to say on day 1...:rotfl:
So busy work morning, followed by an hour spent with NEDCAB.. started completing the info and have successfully managed to get the budget to fit so my monthly payment will stay the same.. however when I then got to the part where they divide up the payment to the creditors it got confusing....SC pay in a different way, based on the original outstanding debt and NEDCAB divide it up based on what you owe.. so for 2 of my debts the difference was at least half..
So.. I have downloaded the statement and put it to how SC pay as I do not want to upset any apple carts at this time.... I have included the PRAT in it, although won't be paying them until they ask nicely... I need to wait for details from SC before I set this ball rolling....
Have printed off letter for SC and will post later..
Payment to SC gone today and debt now down by 25.7% :T

Nice work Puzz
I think we are both still waiting to see what we get from 'The PRAT' (as you so elegantly refer to them) on the CCA requests. Zero for me although they did send Mrs. B a letter on her last remaining debt acknowledging it the request Obviously they haven't got it and have to go to the original predator.
My PRAT debt is old and somewhat complicated so I am sitting on the edge of my seat!!
Have a nice week.

Nice to see you sounding so optimistic as we start a new month. You're a real tonic:beer:. Where did January go, though:eek:
My payment to SC went as usual today too. I'm still dithering about whether to ask for token payments next month, I know I need to but I really don't want to especially as I've hit my 3 year milestone today:j. Only another 3 and a half to go to debt-freedom, it can't pass quickly enough for me.
I've been examining my budget in great detail and playing about with it. There's obviously plenty of room for rejigging so maybe I can do that without resorting to token payments. I'll be receiving small (downright derisory IMO:() increases in my pensions from April so if I can work out a way to keep this extra for myself I can leave my monthly payments the same and still finish the DMP when I've been planning on.
I wonder how I ever managed to pass my time when I didn't have all this stuff to worry about;)0 -

Hi Brogs, My PRAT debt was BC and previously an egg card so quite elderly I imagine... unfortunately not a big debt but if I don't need to pay it yet I can focus on some of the others whilst they dither around.. of course they could find the paperwork tomorrow in which case as a good puzz I will continue as previous.
