    :D Good Morning....

So what's been happening... Tuesday I had my interview for my job... they were running late and I had to wait over 30 minutes.. not impressed... and then they kept me waiting 4 1/2 hours until they rang to tell me I was successful....:j So I have weathered that storm and can now move on with 2016..

The downside to all the stress of above is I haven't even started my new years resolutions yet, will bank them for 1st February....

I have heard back from the PRAT group.. they have put the account on hold whilst they 'find' the paperwork'... Now the problem with this as Jan 2015 will know is Stepchange probably won't like not paying them.. I hadn't actually given this a lot of thought, got swept up in the CCA excitement..! I didn't realise they wouldn't want paying until proven.. durr...

So.. Maybe its time for that old self managed malarkey.. I'm still in thought but have today opened a new online basic bank account and signed up with NEDCAB...Will have a play around on it later and see how I get on.. I don't intend to change the payments to the creditors very much apart from PRAT obviously for now! Without the PRAT in the equation it knocks 5 months off my current DFD but as I say at the moment I am just playing..

Today need to go out in the cold and do some work.. boo..... I have a social out tomorrow night, with my work team so good job I still work with them...!!

No other money news, limping towards payday a week tomorrow.. still got £40 in the bank and have saved £30 towards tomorrow evening so hopefully it won't be too spendy...!

    That's about it from Puzz..
    xx

    Hi Puzz :)

To be honest, I don't think the PRAT / unenforcable issue should be the deciding factor in whether you go self-managed or not. You can always pay them their monthly amount for the time being through SC whilst they go through the process of finding the agreement......if you want to keep things going smoothly :) If the debt is then unenforcable you can then discuss with SC.

I think you should go self managed.....you knew I would say that as you can be debt free much much sooner. BUT it is certainly 'horses for courses.' We both (I think) suffered enormous pain when we went through our LBM stages. We came out of that with plans and solutions and we are where we are now :). Your solution may have been SC and if you like the place you are in then you can obviously continue.

I honestly believe you can easily self manage with no more stress or worry than you have now and really knock 'em down  !! I know SC is very popular and successful in turning lives around and there's no 'one size fits all.' :D

All the best with it whichever way you go.......:) ......and keep us all regularly updated xx

    Hi Puzz

Great news about the job - I'm so pleased for you :j

Yes, the CCA issue did push me to move to self-managed, but to be honest I wonder why I hesitated in the first place. We haven't yet made our first payment to predators on self-managed (that goes in February) but I already feel so much more in control.

I get letters from predators and don't feel I have to phone SC and explain the latest information. I've decided the payment levels - they are lower than SC but the amount we need to live on is within what NEDCAB agreed was acceptable. This meant there was less to distribute to predators. Only one has rejected the changed offer - and that one is a really small debt and the difference between what they got through SC and the NEDCAB offer is less than £3 per month.

I was going to keep paying our MBNA debt until they confirmed they couldn't produce the paperwork. However, being self-managed I've decided to hold their payments pending production of the paperwork. That way if they do manage to find it I will have little lump sum to send through to them....or not ;) I may use this little lump sum to offer a F&F to one of our smaller predators. I have great hopes that as the MBNA account is pre-2000 they will never find the paperwork. Fingers tightly crossed for me, you, Brogden and anyone else CCAing their predators;)

So, like Brodgen, I would say.....you can do it - go self managed ;)

Enjoy the social with your colleagues

Good news on the job front Puzz;)

I have also been toying with the self-managed thing for the last few months. I don't want to upset the apple cart with BC as I am not paying any interest at the moment but many of my debts are now relatively small. By the time I make up my mind I will probably be debt-free anyway:p

  • Congratulations on the job, Puzz:j. It must be a real load off your mind. Onwards and upwards for 2016 now, eh? Sorry I haven't posted my best wishes before but I've had a lot of dross clogging up my mind just recently:o. Been a bit bogged down with trivia:(. Back to relative normality again now, if anything ever is 'normal' in my life;)

Gosh lots of visitors how lovely on this soggy friday...

And a plus.. it is friday..:j

Sorry I am now going to get a little miserable and I am a little   and just want to write this down so I can move on and forget about it..

As you all know I had my interview on Tuesday and was successful.. well today I got my feedback.. not one word of it was positive and in fact I am surprised they offered me the job on that basis... I did speak to my colleague again a little later and said it was sad there was no positive only negative feedback and she apologised and of course said all the right things, but that doesn't make me feel any better. So Puzz sad right now and the last thing I want to do is go out with my colleagues particularly as I don't know if I will even be working in the same team with them....

Onward and upwards.. Thank you for all your comments re; self managing.. I think it is something I shall go forwards and do, I will let the normal payment go to SC to distribute in Feb whilst I do my planning..

Off to make a cup of tea as I feel I deserve one.. and I really don't want to go tonight....:(

Work is complete pants Puzz :(. People saying this, doing that and generally exposing their own issues and inadequacies by making us all feel sh*te.

It's part of your life and you allow it into your life for a reason of your own. One day you won't do it at all.

More difficult for girls I know but......remember why you do it...... compartmentalise it. Take your wages, look at the money they pay into your account, value that and let them stick the rest up their collectice @r*es!! :D !!

    Brog x

PS Good luck on self-managing :)

    Thank you oh wise ones...!!!

You are so correct and yes, today I can see it for what it was, Know it really doesn't matter and as long as they keep paying me I will put one of these on my face.. :D.....

I didn't go last night, couldn't face it and was glad I didn't.. The person who had given me the feedback tried to ring but I didn't want to speak to them, they then texted extremely apologetic and begged me to come out, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind..... fish fingers and chips in front of Coronation street with a few glasses of vino was my evening of choice. probably saved myself £40 as well.. so :T

Today domestic goddess duties are a calling..

No money news.. 6 days until payday....:D

Hoping to get some time over the weekend to study NEDCAB a little more..
