:j Puzz pops on to lovely messages... thank you carbootcrazy and January, I do love visitors.. xx

So today is my first day off.. and I don't feel well.. typical Puzz stylee holiday..!! Although in fairness I haven't felt well all week.. just a headache, bug type thing... boo...

So all I have achieved today is the food shop.. in the shop for a change as I had many nectar point coupons I needed to redeem.. nectar now up to.. £94....:D

Nothing exciting to report.. OH is now away until next Tuesday so its just us girlies at home.. When dd gets home from school today she will be helping me get the Christmas tree and decorations down from the loft.. Puzz's job for tonight... Depending how I feel I may actually go to bed this afternoon, at least I can do that as I am on leave... I do need to go to m & s, another sainsburys and asda between now and Saturday lunchtime so will be driving all over the place tomorrow if I don't do any of it this afternoon....

Also got to finish writing the Christmas cards and wrap some more presents....

The weekend.. I have a neighbour over tomorrow eve for a few drinks and then my girls festive curry on Saturday.. so this bug better do one...!!!

    Money news...

Payment ready for Lovely mother loan so £2500 left.. 25% of the original amount.. Last payment should be this time next year..:T

Still spending my Christmas money, all vouchers used up now.. I probably have 3/4 done and still have some cash left.... bet I won't be saying that in a fortnights time...! Although OH hasn't chipped in with anything yet so will remind him of the need to fund some of dd's gifts...

Have opened yet another online saving pot for dd's 18th next summer... current plan is theater and a night in a hotel with her lovely mother..!

    Back soon..

    MORNING....!! :j

And Puzz is feeling loads better today, thankfully.... So far I have taxied dd to school, done a towel wash and currently tumbling, swept the floors, cleaned the bathroom, emptied all the bins, done the litter tray and sparkled my kitchen sink.. still lots to do, but I need to go out and visit the shops I didn't manage yesterday due to feeling yuk...

I did manage a little 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon until OH rang and woke me up... never mind it seems to have done the trick!

Lovely mother also was in a spin as we were planning on doing one of my brothers luxury flight holidays back end of next year (he works for airline..) but they have put a stop to it unless travelling with him.. we can still travel next class down so still posh ish... or as I told her, let's see where he's flying to at the time of year we want to go and we can jolly off with him.... At the end of the day we can get dirt cheap flights and having done mega posh class once, we will never be as impressed again and many many people will never get to do it at all...

So time for Puzz to get going and sort out some of the 'out' jobs I need to do...

    Have a lovely Friday..

    Happy Thursday...!

So Puzz has been a busy little feline at work so not much time for play.....

    What's been happening..

Last weekend had festive curry night with my girls, lovely evening and only cost £20:T so £10 left that I had saved to go towards tomorrow nights christmas do.. this is mainly paid for bar drinks and I should be getting a lift both ways... :T

DD's friend/non-friend's birthday has been and gone without any mishaps. they appear to be able to tolerate each other and I quite like that, we shall see how it all pans out..! The birthday meal is this Saturday and I have informed the parents that we are not coming, they didn't ask why so assume they know... The upside is I had saved £100 towards this evening which dd and I are going to share...:T

    Money News..

Still Christmas shopping but not too much left to get and still money in the bank..

I received a you are no longer poor letter from my creditor Creation.. they had sent a statement the day before which for the first time showed 0 interest charged its usually £9ish..... So I rang them today and they had just received an update from step change so all was good and they confirmed interest was now frozen..:T

Have stashed another £10 which I will pay into one of my many pots and will add anything if there's any left after tomorrow night..!

My printer has broken.. but in its defense it is quite elderly, like me...! So I have broken into my emergency fund and ordered a new one... as you do.... With a student in the house we can't be doing without a printer..!

So OH back, but off out on his jollies tonight and Saturday and with me out tonight I expect we might chat again on Sunday...I know he's home from the piles of washing... :rotfl:

Right that's about it for now..

Happy Saturday.. well I am a little tired and hungover if the truth be known....

Fab evening out last night, I sang, I danced and had a few drinks...:) and only spent £6.25.... had already paid for the meal and drinks were being bought left, right and centre and I got a lift both ways.... So having put aside £40 I shall put £30 into my pots..

    Money news..

Cashed up another £10 of 20p's and paid that into my clothes pot.. also paid in my spare £10 into dd's 18th pot....Did have a little splurge at the shops as I wanted some boots to go with my new 'cheap' skinny jeans... spent £70.... not just on boots mind.... I also bought a long cardi and 2 tops...! £50 was my share of the not going out tonight fund and so wasn't too bad for my bank account..

Am very glad I am not going out anywhere tonight and will be sitting with dd watching some Christmas movies..! :xmassmile

    Happy news..

DD has now got 3 offers for uni's.. still waiting for the one she really wants mind....

Right domestic goddess duties are calling.. so I best get on before I fall zzzzz...

    Hello....

So end of the week and this time next week we will be cooking Turkey... :D

    So what's been happening....

A busy week at work with meetings/one to one/team training/interview training etc.. you get the picture... I am currently working on my expression of interest that has to be in by Tuesday and I have my interview date for 19th January...

The best news of the week is dd got an offer for her favourite Uni...:T

    Money news..

Don't really have any.. I am very late on finishing my Christmas shopping this year so will be doing that on Sunday.. I have £100 ish left to spend mainly on OH and no doubt a few more bits for dd....

£20 left over this week but I won't pot it as dd is going into town next week with her (nice) best friend and will be doing Nando's so she can have it for that..!

4 more work days left for me in December and I will have 60% of my work to complete so will be running around... and only today, Mon and Tues working then off until weds 30th.. :T

My anxiety nearly got on top of me after 3 bad nights sleeping or not sleeping so I made an appointment at the doctors.. 6th January... good job i'm not really ill... :rotfl: I feel much better now so hopefully won't need it but will hold the appointment just in case..!!

So that's about it in Puzz world.. weekend will be domestic goddess duties, finishing this form if I don't manage it today and then Christmas shopping.. Puzz has done all her socials :T A few Christmas movies with dd in the evenings. lovely...

  • Sorry you've not been feeling well, Puzz, but even that hasn't dampened your enthusiasm and sense of humour:beer:.

Just goes to show the difference in NHS provision in different parts of the country, though. It's really rural where we live and our doctor's practice is about 6 miles away, split between sites in 2 villages. They have a massive amount of patients registered with them and since one of the doctors retired in April they've been rushed off their feet until they can find a replacement. No-one wants to work out in the sticks it seems:eek:. It's still possible though to phone in and get an appointment the same day:j. Admittedly you have to take whatever doctor is available so can't pick your favourite and have to be slotted in at the end of daily surgery but you will definitely be seen.

I hope you'll be feeling 100% very soon:beer: and can enjoy the build-up to Christmas which I think you love:rotfl:. Big congrats to your clever daughter too, You must be a very proud Mum.
  • Hi Puzz,

How are you ? I haven't been around much of late, but just logged on and saw that you had just posted and as you had popped to the top of my subscribers list, thought I would have a quick catch up.

I had forgotten that my DD1 and your DD are the same age, we are doing the whole uni thing at the moment as well . Spent the entire summer driving around the country for Uni Visits. Huge Congrats to your daughter on getting her offers, you must be really proud ! Our DD has to be interviewed at every one of her Unis before they make conditional offers, so we were busy last night getting those booked ! Looks like Feb is going to be a very busy month for us and once more I will be trawling the length and breadth of the UK ! Premier Inn will love me !

Hope you enjoy your weekend and Christmas Movies, we have many of those planned as well.

  • Congratulations to your daughter too, PinotGrigio. Brilliant user-name by the way, my absolute favourite wine:j

Reading about Uni visits and all the parent involvement takes me back:rotfl:. In my day of applying to Uni (in the 60s, before most posters on here were probably even born:eek:) I had to take myself to interviews etc, at the other end of the country by train! My parents weren't in a position to take/accompany me. I've always been independent-minded though and it never bothered me. Life was so much safer in those days, girls could hitch-hike alone all over the place without too much worry about safety. I did it all over Europe:eek:, though not to interviews.

Hi Pinot and CBC Thank you for popping in to see little Puzz.

So today is the first day of the school holidays and Puzz got up at 6.. then thought s*d it and made a cup of tea and went back to bed...naughty puzz.. I have a load of work to complete with 2 days this week and 2 days next week but I will do my best and I am now up and ready to tackle Monday..

:xmastree: Finished the Christmas shopping yesterday and will have to add up my spends.. Still got to finish my food shop order for delivery on Wednesday and have a couple of items I need to pick up from the supermarket that I will do tomorrow morning. I am having an early coffee with my BF before work in the Town where I have a visit to do.

Busy weekend and managed to cross lots of little jobs off my list, have finished my Expression of Interest Form so will print, sign and scan that back to HR this afternoon when I pop in the office.

Roll on Tuesday evening when I will have finished until next Wednesday. although I do have an evening visit that I can/may/will I? do...

Will pop back with my spend figures when they are complete, needless to say there won't be any spare money to pot this week.... :rotfl:

Will be back before the fat man in the red suit arrives or is that my OH... :rotfl:
