Hi carbootcrazy,
That light at the end of the tunnel will shine brighter everyday as we move forwards on paying back our pesky debts..!!!
I had been on mse since 2008, and can't believe I didn't find out about dmp's until 2013..... durr.. hindsight is a wonderful thing and I so wish I had known about them in 2008, I'd be debt free by now.. oh well we can't change the past can we... I did lap up all the information I could from the dmp mutual thread pre starting so I expect I had a gentle run in compared to you..
Keep going we will reach the ultimate goal.

Good Morning....
And today I am under a new employer.. no changes yet :rotfl: but they will come...!!!
I have played with my budget on SC website and bitten the bullet and raised my monthly payment to a nice round £600.... this has shaved 2 months off my debt free date which is still a lonnnnng way away.. but reduces it to 78 months.. :j Will have some changes next year as will lose child benefit, not that I use that as income, it has always been for dd and my holiday.. and now is being saved for a laptop for uni... but I will gain £200 a month from finishing my lovely mother loan.. as long as the car holds up or this would need to be extended... I am sure it will all balance out, well it will have to as I will need to be helping dd with uni costs as much as I can as well...
As of this months payment leaving me so I class it as paid even if SC don't do the statement until month end... I am now 2 years into my dmp journey and have paid off 22.8% and am now in the £46k's..
Working hard here today, as you can tell.. I have checked the banking, all fine .. Have done the meter readings.. we are £380 in credit heading into the cold months so that is good.... Done my one poll.. £27.10.... still got nectar to do...
Have saved a little more for dd's friends 18th meal we are going to so that now stands at £80... hoping to get OH to drop us off and then we can taxi or maybe hitch a lift back with someone else...
Quiet weekend so kept spends down and no plans for the week apart from some work obviously...!!
Yesterday dd decided she was going to drop one of her A levels as she is still doing 4 at the moment, of course today she has now decided to carry on... teenagers aren't they funny..!!!
Have a lovely monday..

I don't know what this year's decorations are (people I know seem to completely change the colour scheme/style of theirs from year to year, none of the digging out the old traditional stuff every time:eek:).
The people who lived opposite my Mum used to really go to town with lots of outside lights and one year their house was draped with flashing blue lights. Mum could see them flashing even through her curtains and used to think it was police cars parked outside when she woke up a bit disorientated from a nap:eek:.0 -

Happy Friday....
Puzz doesn't have much to report this week... its been a bit soggy but at least its still quite warm so minimal heating has been used..:T
Money News..
Another £20 into the pot for dd's friends 18th meal so that stands at £100 and should cover us both.. now started a new pot for my girls night on the 5th so that now has £20 in but will probably only need £30 anyway..
Banked £20 of £1 coins and £10 of 20p's. so put the £30 into the clothes fund that hasn't yet been used.. Also another £20 into NY fund so that now stands at £85... think that's all my spare money gone for this week..
I really need to get into town at the weekend.. I am very short of work tops and also need a new pair of smart work trousers that I can use for my socials in December and then use for work in the New Year...
No changes at work yet.. but I have put forward my not committed on either side info about v. redundancy... I had a sneaky suspicion that I was possibly being eyed for a job that I don't think I would want to do... this was confirmed today so hopefully will now not happen.. but .... these times are a changing so I want to have all options available to me.... will keep you posted as it develops......
This weekend I have drinks with my neighbour tonight, otherwise normal domestic goddess duties and as I say a trip to town if I can fit it in. may also go for a walk as I could do with stretching my legs and blowing away some cobwebs with my walking buddy.. Will also need to march on with the crhistmas :rudolf: shopping as I do like to have it finished by early/mid December....

Well done on your saving efforts. Puzz. An inspiration as ever:T
I've noticed that you often mention pots for specific savings. You may have already mentioned this in an earlier posting, please forgive me if you have, but do you have actual physical pots/tins/envelopes and keep the money in cash or do you have a bank account which allows you to set aside money into individually named sub accounts?0 -

Hi carbootcrazy,
All of the above! I have 4 plastic envelopes that I split cash into weekly anything left then either goes into my main current account and then goes into one of my 10 online savers attached to the main account, I then have 4 jam jars which hold £1 coins, 50p' s, 20p' s and £2 coins, all bar the £2 coins (work lottery) get paid into the bank and divided between the online accounts as needed....I also have a separate building society account that Dd's cb goes into but that will stop next year...As will the rest if I get made redundant!!

Thanks for that, Puzz:T. You're so organised, I feel totally inadequate:rotfl:
Am already working on a good and foolproof system to keep savings safe. It's all too easy to incorporate any little extra money (which I'd hoped to save) into my day to day spending. It's very tempting sometimes to go to Morrisons with a bulging purse instead of stashing anything left over somewhere safe from temptation:o. This morning was a prime example:eek:
Sending positive vibes that you won't get made redundant:beer:0
