    Hi Brogs,

Sorry to have confused you..... I often confuse myself...

No interest is now being charged by PRA(T), I had this confirmed when they rang me. As for who actually now owns the debt well.. the letter from Bc clearly states that my account is being transferred to PRA (T). On the same day I had another letters from BC, a formal demand for payment by 18 August or they will register a default.. still waiting.. and it states your account is now closed and passed to recoveries team..

It states we work with DCA's in two ways..
    1. we sell the debt to them
    2. we continue to own the debt but dca collects the money.

So not sure really...!! Will wait until they reappear on my noddle and see how PRA(T) mark the account.

The only interest paying debt I now have is with Creation, it is only £9 a month and I have already had this decreased by FOS involvement so am happy to leave it alone for now. If BC/PRA(T) do default me then I will also be going after creation. They are the only 2 awkward little s*ds... All my other creditors are wonderful....!!!

    Hi Puzz :)

I understand! Hopefully Barklaycard have sold - it sounds as though they have. The confusing bit was the person at PRA(T) talking about defaults but if you've received a default notice from Barklaycard it looks as though it is all happening as you would want.

    Have a nice week.

Weekend whizzed by in a blur of domestic goddess house duties.. I also cleared out my wardrobe, it is now looking even more sad let's hope I've left enough in it to wear...!!!

23rd payment now gone to SC and only 81 to go....!! Next month will see me at 2 years into my dmp.

Total debt owed is a touch over 47k still... and i am now at 21.8% paid... :D

I have been playing around on the budgeting tools on the sc website, I do have a little spare each month and am thinking of upping my payment by £13 to a nice round £600.... but then I am also saving for a million different things so will think about it...!! it would bring my dfd forwards by 2 months...

I do have 4 social events between now and Christmas.. 3 are this month... Luckily 2 won't cost much its just this coming Friday which will be expensive.. Plus got one of those weeks where either me, dd or/and the car are out every evening until Sunday.. except tonight...

Right off for some lunch and then out to do some work... boo...

    Happy Friday..:D

And Puzz will be partaking in much.. well vino actually as I have 2 socials this weekend...

Have been out every night with working and mum taxi.. tonight the train is taking the strain and tomorrow is a sleepover.. :D

A little annoyed about tonight as it is with a group of ladies that we haven't got together with for 5 years and its taken a good 4 months to sort a date etc and 2 have blown out at the last minute..not happy and would cancel the lot but 3 of the remaining one's are very keen so friend (bullied into it..) and I are going and will spend a small fortune no doubt.. I have told her not to let me organise it again.. We better have fun.....

Tomorrow will be a much more chilled Chinese takeaway at my best friends house with my normal girlies and dd comes too as her dd's are friends and we all sleepover..

Otherwise I shall be trying not to spend any money this weekend.. no idea what I shall wear tonight, I have resisted the urge to go shop and will hopefully find something in the wardrobe after my clear out the other day..

Glad this week is nearly over, looking forwards to a quiet one next week...

Time is running away at the moment...

So what's been happening.... well Puzz is on the move.... with work... we are moving back to our old offices next week so yesterday was spent packing up the filing room.. I like to do my bit, even though 5 1/2 hours in a big cupboard was a little boring...!!! Just got my desk to do between now and Friday but as I work out of the office most of the time it won't take long...!! So new/old office is nearer home so may make appearances more often... poor fellow work colleagues...!!! Also being tuped at the end of the month so will be under new employment and who knows where that is going to go... I have given up worrying about it as we have had so many changes over the last 7/8 years.. what will be, will be...

    Money news..

Still got some so that's a plus...!!! Paid in £20 of 20p's and 50p's yesterday that's gone into dd's clothes fund now just hit £200 ready to spend in half term.. she is in desperate need of new clothes so let's hope we are successful...!! Also saved another £15 paid in which will go to dd's 21st New York Fund.. now up to £50.. a way to go yet...!!

Also saved £90 for haircuts this side of Christmas for us both..

Payday in 9 days, hoping to end up with £50+ in the bank which I will split between RAC and NY again.. unless it gets gobbled up in the meantime...

CHRISTMAS.... The big one..... I now have 3 socials in December... I have nearly paid for the work one, just £5 to go.. so will just need taxi/drink money for that one... dd's best friends 18th on the same weekend which we are both going to.. have currently saved £40 towards it.. and my girlies but that's just to the local curry house so shouldn't be too bad..!!! I don't have any intention of agreeing to any others...

Last weekend was up in London with my best friend to the Theatre, drink before and after and then a cheapish pizza meal.. still spent £180 all in, but that was saved for so didn't effect normal bank account.. we still have £330 and will keep saving and go away for a weekend next year..

Sainsburys Nectar is £85 ish.. and one poll currently on £26.85. Still doing Royal Mail posting and surveys, had a few vouchers from them so Christmas vouchers currently £69. Will start planning my Christmas shopping soon.. :xmastree:

Lots of work to do this week and next so will be a busy little puzz...

    helloo......

:rudolf: I have started my Christmas shopping.. Only spent £3 and didn't bother taking this out of the Christmas fund.. the other £20 used was in Amazon vouchers also not counted in my signature voucher stash so those pots are still intact.. not for long though as Christmas shopping will start properly in the next few weeks...

I have a few days off, was suppose to be taking dd to get her hair done today and tomorrow we were suppose to be going clothes shopping for her.. but.. she has a new friend..:smileyhea ... I think it is all quite innocent at the moment as she is very open with me, and also a very young 17 but today is the second day she is spending at his house watching movies.... :D so I am home alone.. I don't think she wants to shop tomorrow either so my £200 clothes fund may roll over for another month..

Payday today.. Have just done my banking and I now have over £1600 in savings.. all in different pots...! Managed to end the month with £30 in the bank so have split this between the RAC and my NY fund.. so they are currently standing at £50 and £65.. My little pot of gold is now at £200.. if my dmp runs the full term this should be at £1000 at the finish...

Will pay my lovely mother her loan payment so that will take it down to £2700.. 13.5 months to go... will try and raise an extra £100 so I can lose the half month!!

All changes at work, moved offices this week so now back to where I started from.. and being tuped from Sunday so working under a different employer. all jobs are ring fenced and we will have to do expressions of interest and interviews but not till next year so not going to worry about it this side of Christmas..

Have completely abandoned walking now as its too dark and cold, planning on starting on my treadmill from Monday and will try to lose this blooming 12lbs before the festivities begin...

Right off to make a cuppa and plan the rest of my day...

  • So glad to see you posting again, Puzz:j.

I came across this diary after seeing some of your posts on the DMP support thread and managed to come on over here and read the whole of it in 2 sittings! There was so much to read but you have such a brilliant way with words that it was a pleasure:T. I subscribed and then from posting several times a week your posts seemed to dry up:eek:. You did say you were moving offices so I knew you would have been very busy. I hope it has all gone well.

From this diary I know how much you love Christmas:rotfl:. Fortunately for me I don't and manage to spend as near to zero on it as possible every year. Just as well given the dire state of my bank balance:o. I'll be enjoying your Christmas tree and decorations with my nose pressed up against your window;). Sorry if that's come across as a bit creepy, I'm not a stalker, honest:eek:

I'd love to join you along your DMP journey. You seem to be having so much more fun on yours than I am on mine and I'm really enjoying reading of the lighter side of being on a DMP whilst I'm living through the grimmer side.

Thanks for sharing your highs and lows in such an uplifting way:beer:

    Hi carbootcrazy,

Gosh you read it all.... I hope it helped you sleep...!!!! Such a lovely post from you to greet me, thank you.

Sorry your dmp journey is a little grim, do you have a diary where I can learn more and maybe help?

See you soon, either here or on the fabulous dmp mutual support thread.

  • Thanks, Puzzcat:T

I'm a cat lover and owner too and even though my little chap seems to be a constant drain on my finances (as apart from vet's bills he can also eat for England:eek:) I would hate to be without him.

No, I don't have a diary, not enough of interest to say in it really, unlike yourself who manages to have a blast despite financial problems.

I know exactly where I went wrong with my DMP (apart from not discovering the DMP threads on here prior to starting it:o). I never missed any payments until I was so totally maxed out on all my cards (using them for cash to pay other c card bills etc:o) and it was then that I panicked and had to seek help. I went straight into it as soon as it could be set up so never made token payments (which I'd never heard of and which SC never mentioned:() so never built up an emergency savings buffer.

I started my DMP with zero savings and have been running to stand still ever since. Because my expected DF date was six and a half years away, and, being considerably older than you are:( I was anxious to see it through as quickly as possible. Foolishly I didn't incorporate any little 'treats' into my budget and to be honest am paying more than I can comfortably afford. But I don't want to ask for a decrease in monthly payments as I feel great when I see the debts shrinking before my eyes.

I've never regretted going on a DMP, although now my life is a credit-free zone I regret and belatedly understand the idiotic spending choices that led me up to it. It was high time I grew up and now it's happening:rotfl:. I keep finding all sorts of little ways to make and save a bit of extra cash so life has become a bit more of an adventure:j

There is light at the end of the tunnel. It's a mightily long tunnel and the light is nothing more than a glimmer but it's there and that's the main thing:j.

I'll certainly be around for a long time yet, maybe not posting much but definitely reading and cheering folk on:beer:. It's lovely to have such great company on the long and winding road.
