So another weekend done and dusted.. It was very chilly here this morning, Autumn is on its way even if the sun is pretending its here to stay we all know otherwise..!!
Busy week last week, playing mum taxi and dealing with teenage problems.. Not necessarily my teenager I hasten to add.... I'm sure everything will get resolved one way or another.. DD and I are very close and she does talk to me about everything, her friend has some real issues going on and her family have finally taken her to the gp and they are waiting for counselling. Problem is the parents have had there heads in the sand too long and really don't know there daughter at all. I know lots of secrets about her courtesy of my dd, but can't do or say anything... its hard being a mum sometimes....
DD actually said she enjoyed work this saturday...Hopefully now she's done a few shifts she will relax into it and she certainly will enjoy payday when it comes....
OH back from his holiday, he got home at 4.30am on sunday morning and was up for work at 7....straight back to the grind but at least he had a break and he bought me lots of cigs so will save me a few hundred pounds as well.. got to love him really...!!
Another week of mum taxi.. tues, weds, thurs and both sat day and evening... keeps me out of mischief I guesss...
Lost another 1lb so 5 gone and 9 to go...... will be on that treadmill every night this week and no wine till the weekend... bought a new sports bra with my birthday girft card from dd as I want to start running.. I could do with a bra for my stomach as well....
Money news.. down to my last £3.74 in the bank and about £10 in my purse, don't really need anything this week and will get cash on thurs or Fri and then payday on Monday.. :T
11th payment to creditors goes out on the 25th... can't believe its been nearly a year already...
Car News...
Making a noise... I'm ignoring it till after payday... My lovely mum has said I can borrow money if I need it, would rather not but do need the car so will have to be brave and book it in to the garage soonish...
Right onwards and upwards..

Did you just mention the C word above. Shame on you Puzz.
I love Chrimbo too so will try and curb my enthusiasm too
Already started some shopping here, been saving a Xmas pot since the DMP started which is another first I'm quite proud of. DD has been banging on about an iphone (she already has an ipod and ipad) and have managed to bag a good 4S version for £120 which is excellent. It's a carrot for wearing her non-fixed brace until Xmas when hopefully the gap is sufficient to get the fixed brace. Orthodontist was about to give up because she's not been the best at wearing it, so its a good dangling carrot
Mrs BB says the same, house is immaculate when I work away. Don't know why, it's the kids that make the mess, not me
Have fun, and I've got a good link for you :rotfl:

Love the link BB.. I've always been a christmas fan and its one thing i've saved for which is weird and I was rubbish at saving for anything else...!!! I love the whole shopping process and put my tree up as soon as december arrives ! Although shopping has to be done by mid december as I'm not very patient and don't like queues!!!!
Letter today from BC stating my arrangement is coming to an end and they need to hear from either SC or me.. well both because I called both and SC will write to them and I had a lovely chat.. creditors are not all bad....
Mum's taxi is out again tonight as DD is working, bless her I still can't believe I have a 16 year old who goes to sixth form and has a job.... I'm not that old surely...!!!! She seems to be settling into both now so hopefully October will be a less stressful month for all of us...
11th payment goes to creditors tomorrow, I should be getting close to that 10 % being paid off I hope... And then it will be a year next month when I can tally up how much less debt I am in now... that will be exciting.. .LESS DEBT....:D
No other news to report, still got a little bit of cash in the bank and £4 in my purse until Friday and then I get my weekly cash followed by payday... :T
And I ran on the treadmill.... poor treadmill......

Hi Puzzcat,
Glad to read all is ticking along nicely. Can't believe you mentioned Christmas haha. I usually dread it. I do love Christmas but the extra financial burden always ruins the fun for me.
For as long as I can remember I have either gotten us into a real mess over-spending on presents money that we just don't have or I have had to find them presents out of the catalogue because I had no money whatsoever .
This year looks to be a little different though. I have been saving all year and should have enough in the pot to cover presents and the Christmas food shop.
Hopefully without the money worries this Christmas and all future ones will be a time to enjoy and not stress about.
Children grow up so quickly don't they. I feel super old as Ds has just turned 10, don't know how I will feel when he is 16+.
Keep going hun, look forward to your SC debt update next month to see how the debt is going down xxx0 -
Hi Steph,
Thanks for popping in. You make the most of your children as they grow up so fast !! I can still remember walking dd to school on her first day in the snow in her little pink wellies..! That was in the days of 2 intakes so she started in the January... and now she's at 6th form... time goes to fast and unfortunately we are all so busy these days it rushes past..
The advantage you have on me, other than a smaller debt to start with is you will be debt free in plenty of time for the expensive teenage years and will hopefully get to have some lovely family holidays together. Paid for in cash of course...!!!
Keep going Steph, we are all right behind you...

It finally got me and I am
.... It has been a busy few months and I've done well to escape all the different bugs and illnesses that float round an air conditioned office space.. not to mention the amount of people I interact with everyday that could have all manner of nasties.... So woke up this morning with a horrid sore throat... feel generally under par, so have been to the office to gather things I need for work at the weekend and I will shortly be putting myself to bed for some extra zzz.s which I think I need.
Poor dd has also been poorly but has soldiered on and lost her voice yesterday.. peace at last... she's in good spirits at the moment and really enjoying her new school... that will be the mixing with boys then..
I have a day off tomorrow anyway so hope this is a quick 24 hour, stuff the painkillers down kind of poorly.. I haven't time for it to linger I have too much work to do and its month end on Tuesday...
Not sure if we are attending a meeting at the school later for a proposed trip in 2016.. only costs £3500...:eek: But if dd wants to go OH will sort the money somehow.. he's pretty good like that.....
Sc paid today haven't looked at my statement yet.. may do that before I go for a lie down... and have a cup of tea.. yep that's a plan.. I may be back later...

Hi Puzz and Steph,
Couldn't agree more - I still remember so vividly the moment my two were born, and now my DD has left home , and son is a teen towering over me, quite sad how quickly it has all flashed by, but am so grateful I gave up a big job and have spent last 12 years working from home, despite the situation we are in now, infact wish I had had the guts to give up when DD was little, but couldn't because I was the bigger earner.
I feel old when I think about how old the kids are, but don't feel any older in my mind ---does that make sense?:)Feb2014 Total unsecured debt £72,520>>01/06/16 £68166>01/02/17 £66,600=8.18%PAID

Makes perfect sense to me.. I'm sure I'm still only in my mid to late 20's.... I wouldn't go back further than that mind, they were my favourite years.. and then I had dd, which of course are also my favourite years but in a different kind of way...Christmas 2020 £109
