Hi KB and BB, thanks for dropping by and the good wishes...

My little dd got the job...:j.. we don't know much about it yet as they are interviewing 50 people over the next 2 weeks but she received an email this morning saying she had a successful interview and they will be in touch again in 2 weeks.... She did look lovely and does speak really nicely.. she was so nervous bless her.. it is for a well know.. 'nice' supermarket..... I will post more when I know....

Wedding done and dusted.. All went well, ups and downs, tears and tantrums....My family are a nightmare when they are all together and so are the brides... My houseguest goes home friday and then I can get back to normal life again...

Really missing my summer holiday this year.. oh well i'm sure the next year will race past as fast as this one and I will be on my sunbed...!! Have stashed away the 100 euro's left from the wedding to start my spending fund for fun in the sun in 2015...

New payment amount gone out to SC this month, all quiet otherwise.. I have cash in my purse and am in credit in the bank so all good at the minute... Will be getting a big pile of overtime in August's pay.. will be spent no doubt on kitting out dd for her change of school in september.. sixth form so not uniform clothes...

I did buy some new underwear with a little of my birthday money, the rest bar £20 has just gone into entertaining my houseguest and being away at the weekend..

Right off to do some work as i've only been doing 2 days each week and seem to cram a weeks work into them... Back to 4 days for the next 2 weeks then all back to normal...

  • Well done to dd. Having had rellies staying recently, I'm sure you're counting down to Friday. No matter how nice house guests are, it's good to reclaim your space.

Thanks INOD, your right about the houseguest, lovely as she is I will wave her off with a smile tomorrow...!!!

    Money news..

Received a £10 love2shop voucher from my RM surveys as I was one of the week's random winners... lovely thank you very much....

I appear to still have quite a lot of last week's budget left, I think as I merged some of my birthday money with it... night out tonight and will hang on to some of it to pay for little miss dd's clothes we need to purchase.. A week today till results time....

Next week I will be racing around completing my months visits, not sure I will be able to get any overtime visits done, but if not hopefully I can do them in September.....

My plants have done well, lots of tomatoes and spring onions.. runners still producing, had at least 8 crops from them.. Must pull another carrot soon and see how they are doing... also got chilli peppers on my plant... go me, green fingers.....

Pouring with rain here, don't you just love a british summer...

Boo to being sunday and back to work tomorrow for a 4 day week... I could get used to only doing 2 days.. much more civilised.. unfortunately wouldn't pay the bills though...

Waved off my houseguest on friday and she gave me some money towards her housekeeping so I've popped that into the sunbed 2015 pot... and had a lovely catch up in the evening with my best friend, wine and nachos.. yesterday lots of house jobs and then an overnight stay for one of oh's friends so more bed washing to do... off out a bit later to see the new Mr & Mrs.. quick visit and then home to do the ironing.. yawn...

No money news.. its mid month, still have some cash and a little credit in the bank.. will try and do some overtime visits over the next fortnight so I have a perky paypacket in september... that's the current plan anyway..

3 days in, 1 more to go.. and gcse results day tomorrow... dd doesn't seem at all bothered by it so let's hope the results are favourable...!!!

Monday washing machine broke... cue panic.... now the old me would have just ordered a new one straight away on the good old credit card.. the new me, searches google for local repair people.. mum came to the rescue with a fella she had used before and he came yesterday diagnoised the fault and will be back later in the week to hopefully get us working again.. cost £65.. little bit cheaper than £300 for a new one...

10th payment goes out to creditors in the next few days, looking forward to seeing my statement as I'm hopeful the balance will slide into the 54k's...:T

No other money news, still dreaming about a sunshine break next year and I have a few plans to achieve this..so watch this space.....

Am rushing around completing a month's work in 2 weeks and still hoping to add a few overtime visits on top.. I did one last night but this may count as a normal rather than overtime, depending how well I get on... am also off out tonight to do another... trying to cram a month's work into 7 days... I shall be a tired puzz...

  • Morning Puzzcat,

:T Well done you with coping with the Washing Machine breakdown so well. You certainly saved loads. Amazing.

If you figure out a uber cheap way to get an overseas holiday then please let me know. Our last proper holiday was 2011 and i am definitely feeling the withdrawal pains :(. camping just does'nt scratch the itch :o.

Good luck squeezing all your work load into 7 days. I am sure you can do it.:D

Hi Steph thanks for popping in, as I know your very busy at the moment...

    Money News..

August brings me into my 10th payment gone on my dmp and I'm now in the 54k's..:j and 8.6% paid off.. this equates to over £5000 paid off in this time...Only 95 months to go... Can't wait to get under 50k but that won't be until next spring.. oh well I really shouldn't be wishing the months away..

DD got wonderful gcse results.. 2 A*, 5 A's, 3 B's and a Distinction * in her BTEC... All set to go for September to her new school and sixth form, I hope its a journey she really enjoys and her new job will hopefully start around the same time so she will be experiencing lots of new things this Autumn.

Just done the washing.. by hand.. only the little important items to get us through until Tuesday when hopefully the machine will be fixed... on the upside it saves on electricity.. meter readings done and currently £204 in credit to roll into winter...

Steph unfortunately I don't think I have the solution to a uber cheap sunshine trip, although where we go is self catering and I will be on the look out to buy EJ flights as soon as they come out.. I have the money to pay for those ready.. the rest will be saving and doing as much overtime as I can....

Have completed 70% of my months workload in 4 days... and if I can achieve the same next week in 3 days then I can claim all the evening one's as overtime... I'lll see how I get on.. I may go out on BH Monday and get a head start.. I don't have any other plans and its suppose to rain anyway...

Right off to do some more cleaning and then out this afternoon to meet a friend for coffee...

Hope all have a good weekend..

Wow Puzzcat you are doing so well with your work. Sounds like you could potentially get a lot of overtime in. Just make sure you don't make yourself ill in the process xx

Expect you are working today as it is raining as you predicted xx

I have my Dd's TOTAL bomb site of a bedroom to tidy today. Its 1pm and I still haven't tackled it :o
