  • Just wondered whether DD is planning on getting a holiday job as she seems to be the cause of mega spends on your part:eek:

When I was at Uni, admittedly a good few years ago:(, I always had a job during the long summer vac. Helped with extras that it seemed unfair to expect my parents to pay for, they did enough for me as it was. Of course, we didn't have the expense of mobile phones and all the costs that they incurred back in my day but I loved having my own money to buy things like clothes and pay for leisure activities. In addition, I could save some of it to help pay for extras during the next term:j.

I'm glad you're enjoying the staycation:T. If the rain is as torrential there as it is here I bet you're pleased you don't have to go out in it if you don't want to:beer:

    Hi Noella,

Yes I worked Saturdays from 14 I think it was and then full time since 17.. dd did have a part time job a few years ago, it wasn't a great success due to her lack of confidence and the attitude of some management towards the youngsters. She would love a job in a bookshop as that's her safe place but these are few and far between.. She actually costs less to run when she's home than when she's at uni so for now we are just pootling along..

Yep we have had some of the rain, but as you say not working means I can avoid it if I want...

More rain forecast for this afternoon.. love it...! Yesterday did Tesco, found a microwave I like but couldn't fit it in the trolley with the food so may go back this afternoon and buy it... LM gave me £100 a few months ago and I haven't spent it yet...also may have a wander round Lidl.. its nice being off with no specific plans..!

Tomorrow we have the opticians for dd... a visit to the bank... and whatever...!!!

If you are a Lidl shopper there's going to be a £5 off a £20 spend voucher published in the Daily Mail on Saturday and another on Sunday this weekend. Means buying the paper but we get the Mail on a Saturday anyway as DH likes their weekly TV supplement.

I hope you get the microwave especially as LM gave you some money:j. I usually find if I step back to have a good think about whether I really need something and then go back a couple of days later after deciding I really do the item I want has sold out:(

Your DD's dream job of working in a bookshop would be mine too:T. Sadly, knowing me and books, I'd be so busy reading the stock that the customers would be waiting in a very long queue hoping to be served when I can eventually get round to it:o

    Happy Hump Day....

    So back to work.. boo....

I never did get the microwave as we went back and they had sold out.. money away for another day...!!

I enjoyed my week off, and am trying to get back into this working game...I suspect I will be running around next week as I appear to be lacking motivation and also have booked appointments so can't get time to do the other stuff I need to...

I did put some items on Ebay whilst I was off, we sold 6 and I have put on 5 more so we shall see.. not sure we will raise enough for our plans but every penny helps..!!!!

Everything else just ticking over.. treadmill is dusty...:rotfl:

    Hello Puzzcat,

Took me a little while but have made it to the end of your diary :)

I am in awe of how much you have paid, saved and do, simply amazing!

We are on a DMP with stepchange, been jumping back and forth with thoughts of going self managed for a while now. We have just today though put it on hold until September, because my DH had an accident last week and is likely to be off work for a while. Once things have settled down, I'm seriously going to look into it.

We also just got our first family pet a few weeks back, a kitten, absolutely crazy and beautiful.

I am going to subscribe if you don't mind.

    Hi Robin,

Nice to meet you and thank you for saying nice things !! Hope your Husband heals quickly and with regards to self managing, I've never looked back.. I would really recommend it.

Kittens are so fun, mine are 11 now and not quite so bouncy but still find ways to amuse me on a daily basis..!

    :j Happy Hump Day...:j

So what's Puzz been up to... working mainly... and sleeping and being up and down so much that I have finally secured a doctors appointment for next week and I will be going.... I will keep you posted...!

Ebay sales going well, Have sold 13 items so far and 2 more have bids on for this week, it is so boring though.. I like the money.... Have had a sort out of the rest of the clothes and I am going to do a charity shop run as i will need my spare room back in the next few weeks...

Money.. nothing exciting to report, all still ticking along. Car is due MOT this month but hopefully what I have in the car pot will cover anything it needs.. must book it in...!

Anxiety absolutely at its peak today as off to the City tonight with dd.. I'm sure all will be fine but I am looking forward to getting home which isn't really the point of going out is it....

We both need hair appointments as well so more ££ to spend...

LM finally moving forward with her date for her operation so hopefully she can then get back to normal.. well normal for her...:rotfl:

Planning a gentle day today saving my reserves for my late night...

No other socials planned.. cancelled the last girls one so will need to sort something when I'm feeling a bit more like Puzz... May see bff over the weekend if she's free as OH is away....:D

    Right best get on..

    Morning..... and its Friday...:j:j:j

So I've been Awol again.... time for an update..

i survived the scary evening trip up Town with dd.. we had no issues and got home about 11.40.. No plans to do it again anytime soon mind...!!

Anxiety did reduce after that event but I kept my Doctors appointment and she did suggest medication (not keen) and self referral for counselling which I have done and have had a telephone assessment, not yet sure if they are going to offer me anything useful but will see...

Has been a very spendy month (and last month).. with house and car insurance/MOT/ dd's 21st and lots of other birthdays..

Still hoping the rest of the month will be a little cheaper but I expect not as dd has a friend coming to stay.. I seem to spend half my life in the supermarket at the minute..!

Ebay has gone well, have made about £150 so far and still got some more to sell will try to put some on over the weekend..

Works okay, they Know about my current issues so are being gentle with me...:D

Did have a catch up last weekend with my bff.. still no socials planned....

I have been on the treadmill...once.....:rotfl: but have lost 5lb so far this year so at least weight is going in the right direction....

    That's about all folks...

    :j:j Payday...:j:j:j

:bdaycake: And my birthday.... please help yourself to a slice..

So as predicted July was a spendy month but survived.. hopefully August won't be as bad apart from sorting dd's new room in her house at the end of the month...

Have hated the hot weather. .loved the weekend.. cooler and rain.. think we have more soggy stuff on the way in the next few days so at least I can get some work done..!

dd's gone rogue.. she went out last night.. messaged me at 5 to say staying where she was, and messaged again at 8 to wish me happy birthday and will be back at some point today.. hope she's having fun...:rotfl:

I am off out to lunch with my bff and then office bound.. LM coming round at some point and that's about it..!!

All money moved into pots.. nice and full some of them...:D

Have received more f & f offers but I'm not doing anything with them at the minute and hopefully they will get even lower as time goes on...

    That's all folks..
